Thank you for doing this tutorial/sewalong! I have this pattern, but haven't made it yet as I mostly sew indie patterns. But now I feel confident to sew it up with this visual guide :)

When you say finish your seams do you mean to serge or zig zag them?

Hi, you can finish your seams using a method of your choice. Some sewers like to serge them however you can use a zig zag stitch or your sewing machine too.

Inspired by this video tutorial I have bought the pattern and some fabric to make the dress. Looking at sizing though I wonder if they are true to the measurements shown? Usually a size 10 or 12 I may need to cut a size 14 (and maybe grade) according to those measurements as it so close fitting. I am 34 - 28- 38. I would so appreciate your advice before I begin cutting x

Hi Maureen! Pattern size and fashion sizes do not correlate and we would always advise you go off your measurements against what is listed on the back of a pattern to ensure the fitting is correct

You can also look at the finished garment measurements on the back of the envelope or on the actual pattern sheet. If not, you can just measure the pattern pieces between the seam allowance. Happy sewing…
