- A Teacher from Siddharth College, Balraj Dutt (Sunil Dutt) from a well-known, wealthy, and reputed family falls in love with a former prostitute, Madhvi (Waheeda Rehman) and despite of opposition from his family, marries her, complications arise. The elder brother (Rehman), now married, recognizes Madhvi, as he had spent romantic nights with her. Then arrives Vinod (Ramesh Deo), a family friend, from the United States of America, with full approval for the marriage until he actually meets and then he too recognizes Madhvi, as he had spent some romantic nights with her. How will Madhvi continue to live her married life with the mirror reflecting her past

Amazing. Wonderful movie. Sochne par majbur karti hai kuchh social changes ki bare mein. Lekin end was vry sad. Perhaps d director didn't want to take the risk.

Very emotional and heart touching story with the family and friends. All songs are very popular and hearting. Sunil Dutt and Jadeep take a great step in getting married but Sunil Dutt Tred his best way for the family and failed in the end. The last scene of the movie is very hearting for the family. Jal gai jal gai ......is romantic.tThe sociey should learn lesson from the movie. Thanks for uploading such a revolutionary story and movie.

In the 70s hindi songs started deteriorating and have never recovered since. Horrible composers and lyricists destroyed music. Story had power.
