The appearance here is the "Air Buffer Tank" and Nitrogen Buffer tank" provide the same surge capacity service to the plant. That is NOT correct unless use pressure is down around 10psig. . The air buffer tank's job is to make sure a given amount of air is available to pressurize the vessels in the required time (typically about 60 seconds). The nitrogen buffer tank is actually nothing but a mixing vessel, designed to insure consistent purity. The N2 coming off the plant early in the cycle is more pure, and less pure at the end. This tank mixes those to get the specified purity. It provides NO surge capacity. And I assure you...."purities of up to 99.999% are NOT possible with simply this configuration. Neither is anywhere near 500psig.
