This is the most satisfying performance of USA so far
It is amazing how Micah keeps on looking at his team mates and the opponent's court before setting the ball. Very basic but very hard to do especially in the middle of a match where even a single second delay can cause a crucial error.
Bro I have tried to do this so many times and balls just keep hitting my forehead I just don’t know how he does that

USA was moving well in this game. Especially in the first set, they looked invincible. Superb digging and great attacking together with seamless on-court communication! Great to see the team play at their potential!!

Unfortunately, the Olympic Roster for USA came out...Aaron Russell didn't get chosen. Defalco replaced Russell.

This was kind of a logical result since USA finally came up with their Olympic starting-7, while Italy does the exact opposite.
Italian's members in the VNL Cup are Only youngs and they aren t so good, the real team of the Italy plays at the Olympic tournament

Defalco needs to improve his attitude inside the court. Hope Russel recovers from his injury very soon. We need the Anderson, Sander, Christenson, Holt, Russel and Shoji line up.
Russel will not be playing this summer
I’ve watch tj throughout all of his college career and i’ve always talked about his attitude. As much as i hate it, he starts to play better when he’s angry it’s pecuy

@@ianaros2172 it won't be doing any good moving ahead. especially if sander and defalco would eventually take over the leadership in the team. it would affect their game if he would throw a tantrum in every mistake his teammates would commit. there's no such thing as perfect volleyball

DeFalco is a great player and could single-handedly take over a game in college. But he's even better when he's playing with five or more veteran Olympic medal winners.
college versus international play? he can't pass, which is arguably the most important skill at this level
@@druidzown He can't pass? LOL. He has a complete game. He can't pass as good as Shoji or Anderson, maybe, but he'll get better. They used to say the same thing about Taylor Sander when he was a rookie. If there is a flaw in DeFalco's game, it's that he tries to do too much. With all those capable veterans in there, he doesn't need to do that.

@@dpeatebc7265 thanks for pointing out that Taylor wasn’t the greatest passer early on, and Anderson actually used to struggle with passing early in his pro/international career as well. TJ is a lot like Micah was early in his international career. A confident (sometimes cocky), ultra competitive, but very cerebral with the way they play. Micah had a lot to learn and now he’s one of the world’s best setters. I don’t doubt that TJ will become a great player for us. He’s got a lot of upside

Who are the choices? Defalco Muagatutia Jeaschke. If Aaron cant play, they need to find another choice coz those 3 names are not good as starting OS.
@@jdar00019 Bro, out of those 3, Tom Jaeschke is by far the best among them. He was part of the 2016 Rio line-up. Starting OHs IMO should be Taylor Sander and Tom Jaeschke. Tom may be underrated for some, but he’s a spark for the team. Garrett and TJ could be second stringers, though. TJ should improve his court attitude. He easily gets annoyed. Volleyball is a mental game, so dwelling on your previous mistakes won’t really help. It’s a rally-point system. This perhaps doubts me of Defalco’s inclusion in the Olympic roster. Glad I’m not the one who observed that attribute of his during games.

Broken ankles heal very quickly compared to other ankle injuries actually so it’s great to see that he broke it instead of a sprain.
@@bobbyszamocki2088 sprains are so annoying they take so long to go back to normal and then they aren't even as strong as before sometimes

Yes it was GARDINI from BYU , I am excited to watch ITALY VERSUS BULGARIA because Rado from UH is there too. 😉 The two are fresh graduates from their respective schools this year.
Gardini, the Sander brothers, and Patch all are from BYU.

Everyone hates Defalco too but bad he is in the Olympic team. Russell was the missing piece but lets move on he is injured.. Back at NCAA Russell and Sander haven't even won a NCAA title, Defalco did 2018 and 2019, he is only 24 yo. give the guy credit. Between TJ and Garrett, I would go with TJ.
Doesn’t matter what you do in college. Matters what happens when you get drafted to play against the best of the best. Take football and basketball for instance. A lot of busts. Plus defalco only won because his college team was deadly stacked. Defalco is average at best and his attitude is a bit too much for this level in the sport.
@@johnnylee5517 Atleast you are known since volleyball is not popular in US compared to NBA, NFL, NHL etc.. so as Hawaii with Van Tilburg, Parapunov, Worsley brothers and Gasman. He might be average, so as Karch Kiraly 6'2. He has attitude problem so with Juantorena, Kubiak, Ngapeth, Volkov.

Italy didn't brought his A team due to the Italian league finishing really late cause of the pandemic (this decision affected both the man's and women's team).

TJ makes one (honestly embarrassing) error and suddenly he should be off the team?? 😂 His main strength is offense, the defense will get there with more work and experience. In the meantime he's balanced out with Muagututia whose main strength is defense.
He’s pretty good in back row defense. His beach play has helped with instincts and reaction time. His biggest weakness is his serve receive/passing. If he can improve on that, he’ll be a solid all around player. The kid is getting better.
True! And i guess Eric Shoji is adjusting a bit with him and not otherwise. I also notice this in all their previous games. This has caused some scoring trouble
