I found your video very helpful. Your comments on measurements and how the size affects everyday use where exactly what I was looking for. Great job!! Thank you
Well done. Bringing up the larger size and how it can impede clothing is something I am very familiar with but not considered when looking at the series 8 and the Ultra. For me, this is a very good point.
I purchased the Series 8 45 mm and even though I have a small wrist I thought it was going to look to big, because I previously had the Series 3 38 mm, it looks great on. I just got it earlier today in the mail and already love it.
Yeah, I think it looks a lot bigger in videos. I’ve had a Series 3 42mm for 3 years now and I think its size is perfect. I don’t like how small the 41mm looks in the new ones, and I think 45 is just a tiny bit too big, but the 41 is just too small.
Was really glad when I heard your wrist was 160mm too haha, made it easy to decide. You're handsome and the ultra fits you well even though it is a big watch. All the best to you bro and thanks for the video
So, my 41mm comes today, noticed the Ultra dropped by £180 in the UK yesterday. Like you, I have small wrists, I only want it for trail running and the music. So, now thinking I will keep the 41mm, fit and comfort are important factors, alongside features.
I bought the ultra and it’s an amazing smart watch, but my love for mechanical watches trumps it. If the ultra was my only timepiece, it’s perfect. Since I have many timepieces I’d rather wear, I’m getting rid of the ultra and deciding which series 8 variation to buy to wear on my non dominant wrist to keep all the features it offers. I have a 7.5” (190mm) wrist size and I can’t decide which to go with. I think maybe the 41mm is the option to pick since I want it to not draw attention.
I also ordered the Ultra (still in shipping) to be my „only“ watch. However, since I have several mechanical watches of Rolex, Panerai and Co, I really think about sending the Ultra back without even opening it and order a 40mm black SE instead to wear it on the other wrist.
Also as well, if you are someone who goes with the stainless steel larger size Apple Watch, there is only around a £70 difference in price, which isn't a lot when you think what you are getting extra for that £70 with the Ultra.
Great video. Same size wrist as yours. I think the 45mm is the right size, the Ultra is just too big. Hope apple will release a smaller ultra next year.
I sent my Ultra back. You can wear the Series 8 24/7! The Ultra not! Stupid hype on TH-cam! Oh it's new - oh how great! That it is way too big and heavy, no one says here! It can't be worn 24/7. Sleep recording is totally uncomfortable with the Ultra. When training in the gym, the Ultra disturbs normal exercises. You hardly notice the Series 8. It is half the weight and also smaller.
Super helpful video, especially the size comparison. I to have small wrist (around the 160mm-165mm in size so pretty much the exact size of your wrists). I must admit earlier on with the Apple Watch Ultra when I seen them on videos I thought they looked ridiculous on small wrists, but as time went on, they have certainly grown on me, to the point where I am probably going to order the Apple Watch Ultra next time they are updated. I expect the size difference on how it looked and feels on my wrist, after a few days of wearing it, I would be used with it, and not really notice how large it looked on my wrist anymore.
Sir , i want to buy apple apple watch series 8 please recommend me which version should I buy , apple watch series 8 45mm GPS version or series 8 41mm GPS + cellular version please reply..
See I find this very interesting, because although I have small wrists (around 150mm) I am 6ft 2. I previously had the space grey 40mm SE and recently upgraded to the silver 45mm S8. I absolutely love the bigger screen, as I think it looks much more proportioned on me due to my height. It’s super comfy (especially with a sport loop) for day to day use as well as sleeping and working out. I have zero regrets about buying the bigger one as I have found it to be no bulkier than the smaller one so no trade offs really to be found so far- only positives! I would say consider not only your wrist size but also body type and work out what watch would suit you better based on that too, and always go with what one you think looks and feels best!
helpfull video thanks, didnt realize the the screen bezel on the ultra was so bad, the curved glass on the original makes it less noticeable and just seems to fade away
Thank you for making it easy to decide what size is better for my wrist. I have a small wrist 15.7cm. Will go with smaller. Still deciding which colour will suit my skin colour( wheatish). I like go with something which looks more formal.
This video was amazing thank you for your help! I recently upgraded and was conflicted on what size screen. I do agree that the watch itself is still a little too bulky. In my experience the factory band is high quality but too wide for my wrist. I always have to get a band that is a bit slimmer.
Good review. We don't have a place where I could try it on. Even Costco had them nailed down so you couldn't try them on. I am a woman with a very small wrist and I got the ultra. It is wider than my wrist. It looks huge but I like it and I always wear not too tight long sleeves anyway. Nobody sees it except when I am at the gym. I like the battery life and the big display.
This video helped me so much, but the series 7 costs a lot less, and I have a question, Blue Apple Watch series 7, or Midnight Apple Watch series 7. I will be getting this for my 10 year old son who’s favorite color is blue. Thank you.
@@nuggety2k they’re basically the same. Series 8 has a few advanced features but nothing you’d notice/use everyday. I’d recommend the Series 7 on price alone. Especially if it’s your son’s first watch.
@@nuggety2k The 8 has body temperature sensors, used almost solely for tracking ovulation cycles. Also has car crash detection features. Basically no difference at all for a ten year old boy. If you can deal with not having an always on display go with the SE. You just need to turn your wrist to look at the time. The additional health sensors in the S7/S8 don't work for young people, so not something worth paying for in your case.
A VERY important factor to remember is that that the Aluminum case watches DO NOT have sapphire glass! Only the ultra and stainless steel versions. In my experience having the sapphire glass is extremely important as my series 4 to this day is 10/10 condition while my aluminum versions looked horrible within 6months. Pay the extra and get the stainless steel versions if you want the watch looking new for years and years ! Cheers. Great review!
Which color do you recommend is the best one midnight/green/blue? I want dark color (if possibly can black color) but the midnight color is kinda dark blue-ish, not entirely all black, so i kinda confuse with my choice
My theory is the next Ultra will be closer to 13mm thick. Which will be perfect. And the Ultra wears like a 44mm watch because it’s only 44mm wide when compared to a “real” watch that’s 49mm is a huge difference because it’s a circle and a true 49mm. Which is huge on wrist. And those titanium lugs the trail loop adds to the watch makes the watch lug to lug wear that much bigger. I assume somewhere around 52mm. If you’re going to a formal event. Wear a real watch.
Love this video, sir 🏆 Thank you for posting. Super detailed & helpful. Perfect editing ⭐️ I’m trying to buy my very first Apple Watch online and I don’t want to deal with any salespeople. This video is incredibly informative. Keep up the awesome vids 🫡
Thank you man. I received the 41mm as a gift, but I was puzzled when I saw it was the 41mm, wanting a larger screen. My wrist is 145mm so, after your video I think the one I have is better, especially because its thickness bothers me a bit
It's the first video of you I've watched, it was suggested by TH-cam, I like your analysis and I'm agree with you about the size question. I have a Garmin 55 since 2 weeks, it's nice but the screen is awful compared to a smartwatch, I'm interested into the Apple Watch (series 9 when it will be out). You British accent is very clear even for a non-native speaker like me so I will definitely watch other videos of your channel
You are fantastic my friend!!! excellent job, thank you!!! I have the same hand with you and I am convinced to not buy the 45 (I wanted it but your logic prevailed for the 41 hahaha)

Apple wants to sell watches. 49mm is way too small for anything close to a 49mm watch. Looks ridiculous on anyone with a wrist really smaller than around 7 inches.
No. If you can afford it, definitely go for the Ultra, unless your wrist is smaller than 5.5 inches (140mm). People forget that these aren't watches, they're modern devices with almost everything, with cellular, independent communication devices. I've been using Ultra for 2 weeks now, it's perfect for both women and men alike, with wrists around 5.5 inches and above. If you thought the Ultra looked large on your wrist, that's because you're probably used to smaller, ugly ones.
Jesus, now I'm even more unsure. There's simply no way around the fact that Apple has to bring an awesome upgrade with the Apple Watch X. Or they'll bring out the Ultra 3 as a "mini" too. My 1st Gen SE needs a worthy successor and as a runner I'm really not happy with the battery life and the missing action button. 😂
Finally some helpful videos about size of watches
I have little regret of ordering 41mm but you cleared my doubt. Thanks a lot!!
