First it was the Baggers and now we got Hooligans. Good stuff !!
I'm really glad. I'm a race track announcer and I have never heard of the Hooligans' racing anything except for Flat Track. It's really good to see them in Moto America.
@@motorcycleracingvideos8880 I only heard of hooligans from drifting. So this is a first for me. It's such a cool format. This is what racing is about for me.

Baggers? That's like pick up trucks in Nascar. Oh, lets race choppers- yea man!
Baggers: take a factory bike, rip it apart, throw away 80% of it, install parts from actual racing stuff, and then race it.
That was a great race to the finish line! Filmore really showed off some skill and patience to make his move for the win.

In 1965 Laguna Seca was on the Army base, Fort Ord. I'd been drafted and was on night guard duty right there by the track. I just couldn't resist the temptation and drove a 3/4 ton truck around the track, but didn't slide around any corners. If I'd been caught I probably would have gotten brig time, but since I got away with it I'm super glad I did it.
We need to have more of these races

class so i can get some too haha
Filmore a true gentleman, keeping those two ktms together for the entire race.....finishing close so encouraging and a beautiful finish for the ktm s .....wow.

I like this and the Baggers both. These classes are closer to my street bikes.

Nah. The BMW isn't even close to being competitive, and you left out the Japanese love, Z900 and MT-09, GSXS1000, CB1000. not to mention the Ducati monster.

Man this race was exciting! Had me on the edge of my seat the whole race.
Dull as ditch water. I don't consider two people racing, who are way faster then the rest of the field, exciting. Exciting racing is when you have depth of talent through the entire field, and a grid of riders who can finish within 20 seconds of each other. Go watch British Superbikes if you want to see exciting racing across all the support classes.
@@westers1514 This race was more unpredictable than most MotoGP races I've been watching for decades. On MotoGP, I can usually tell you who the winner is from the start of the race. Besides I was rooting for the lady in 5th to move up some and not the guys in front. I like picking the underdogs.
When it said only three laps left, I was shocked, the previous laps went so fast that I expected many more laps to be left, not just three.

I am Italian, but in this case, HAT 's off to the KTMs ..... I have a sacred respect for the US passion for motorsport ..... this type of races represent pure MOTORCYCLING PASSION.

Tommy and Roger Hayden, both Bostroms, Pegram, Eslick-all the old flat track guys would do great in this class. I'm feelin' it!

Agree but they would all need to ride the KTM. We need more competitive bikes in this class other than the KTMs.
@@zepm7184 They certainly are fun to watch. The class probably would do well on the ovals as well just like the old 50's and 60's bikes at Daytona and the like. Motorcycle racing was severely set back by the Daytona racing group after the AMA got out of most of the racing in the states. There are plenty of inline and v twins around to be homologated. Sv Suzukis, Honda Africa Twins, Aprilia and BMW dual sports. It could make it if there was some support I think but now it's just a fun oddity.

I haven't been there since they extended the track. We were AFM racers back then in the late 70's and into the 80's. The guys that I started there, back in those days, are still riding at these tracks on Track Days.

As an FTR owner, it does make me happy to see Indian getting involved in roadracing. Granted, the FTR is gonna struggle against the KTM, but this type of racing is important for future development.

I like this class I like the fact that the racing on dirt and on pavement I hope to see a lot more of this televised pretty much anything with two wheels I like but this was really really cool to watch

FTRs are OHC v-twins and liquid cool. Saw what looked to be xr1200 HDs but it seem like a good mix of bikes....even a HD Live Wire! I really like this class, seeing it's only 8 laps, it's a exhibition class.
Exactly what the riders were saying. So they are splitting the class between air cooled and liquid

cant help but feel this was inspired by the Icon Monsters race in France. The bikes are nowhere near as cool as the Monster's race 'tho, but that's likely due to the older crowd who green lit this series wanting to see number plates and 19's reminiscent of their day. Hopefully more people join in.
