- The Weka Pass Railway is one of New Zealand's most popular heritage railways, operating a handful of English Electric built diesel locomotives either owned by the society, or by the Diesel Traction Group Inc. On Sunday 21st January 2024, we take a look at the railway's recently repainted Dg 770, in tandem with Di 1102, on loan from the DTG operating passenger trains up the scenic North Canterbury branch line from Glenmark Station, Waipara to Waikari. Following behind the train was the fire trolley, keeping a good look out should any unlikely chance of a fire spark during the hot dry summer season!

Enjoy the sight and sound of the Napier turbos from the EE units hard at work in North Canterbury!
Thanks from Wgtn 👍🇳🇿
Great video! Wow the grass around the line has dried out a lot since I went there in November last year
Great video man always good to see more new videos must go back to weka pass at some point 👍
Yes, another reminder to get myself to the south Island and travel on these heritage railways.
Good to see you back behind the camera Bobby. Any chance we'll see that Di documentary you promised in the future?
