Large diameter wheels roll over debris like monster truck rolls over cars, small diameter wheels are more maneuverable like a rally car drifts around a corner. But even a monster truck can make tight turns. The looseness of your trucks can compensate for larger diameter wheels.
Oh, wow, I wish I'd found your video before all the other ones I've been watching. You go into all the details I wanted to know about and I love LOVE the analogies, thank you!
youre the first and ONLY person, after beginning to watch skating videos over three years ago (and ive probably watched hundreds by now, dozens on gear alone), that ive seen explain how the height/diameter of a wheel affects the ride. it was basically my very first question when i learned that wheels came in different sizes, but no one had ever explained if tall wheels are faster, slower, etc. just that theyre "good for trails" but not why. my friend and i have tried to visualise whats going on with tall and short wheels and how that changes things but being completely math deficient, have never been able to puzzle it out lmao. i had actually resolved to ask my friend thats an engineer the next time i saw him. so great inclusion! this video in general is a lot more thorough than most gear videos ive seen, thanks so much.
This was so informative, thank you!!! I want to get the luminous wheels for night roller discos and I think I may need to invest in those smaller radar energy wheels. Currently my moxi gummys do feel like monster trucks and I'm not advancing with my skills as quickly as I'd like. Question for when I do get some more wheels.... I see you are selling wheel bags in your etsy. Would you ever consider selling the pattern for it? I'd love to make my own.
I'm currently selling the bags themselves, but I have considered selling the pattern as well. I've yet to write any instructions. If I can do that I may sell the pattern.
While watching your video, there was an image to the right of the video and it showed a water scene. Then I thought, wouldn't it be great if somehow we could skate on water? 🤔😀
Hi. Does anyone know the hardness of Chicago 805's? I just bought a pair of skates that come with 805 wheels, but I cannot find any website that lists the hardness. Just that they are 58mm. I also do not know the axle size of my skates, yet. Can't find any sites that list that either. Weird.
is it possible to use a luminous wheel without the magnetic part? i know this is a strange question because the whole appeal of the wheels is that they light up, but i prefer the appearance of them without the light (the new teal and fuschia colored ones are gorgeous 🤤)...
I see a lot of videos showing black men/women doing dancing while skating indoors. Yet they do not slide with their great moves. Does anyone know what hardness of wheels they are using? Like when Usher is skating, or even guys skating faster and more complicated moves than him. It is really cool.
Practically all my rollerblading wheels break (fail) before reaching it's reaching half of it's expected duration. And the issue is the urethane part , which is the part that rolls on the ground debonds from it's plastic core. And the result is a noisy and sluggish wheel because allows a layer of air in between the core and the urethane pieces. This acts as a cushion. This happened to the following brands: Hyper Fat Boys, Superlite, Kryptonics Rampage, USD team, Ground Control, Eulogy, Red Eye, Gawds, Rollerblade Supreme.. Anyone have any suggestion about wheels that actually dont fail? Thx
Any skate wheel can fit any skate. Just be sure the wheels don't touch the plate or bolts for larger wheels (65mm+). Skate can have different axle sizes, almost all are 8mm, but that affects the bearings jot the wheels.
It depends where you're skating. On smooth concrete they're similar. On a rough trail the 85a can be a little rough. In the rink 78a is too sticky for me. 85a is a good in between. I where my luminous and moonlight wheels on all surfaces.
Thank you for the advice regarding 62 mm wheels. I was debating between 65 and 62, and you convinced me to go with 62.
Glad it helped! I rarely use my 65s. I really only use them if I'm trail skating. Even then the 62s can work!

Well. I'm an engineer so math is my thing!
I'm the exact same way when it comes to doing something new! Gotta know everything! Haha glad i'm not the only one. Thanks for making this video! :)
Glad to know I'm not alone!
Add me to the list 🙋🏾♀️ lol
Timestamps so useful, thank you!
I like your honesty on your skating skill level.
I loved all the analogies
Great!
Hands down the BEST outdoor wheel review I've seen on YT! I too skate and sew so I'm sold! Just subbed :-)
Thank you! I hope to get back to making more video soon!
Really appreciated your video!!! I’m new to skating and found it really useful!
The luminous LEDs are gorgeous!
I love luminous wheels.
I don’t understand math at all but somehow I fully understood everything you mentioned 😂very informative!
Great!!!
Thank you so much. This was really informative...

This is awesome...I'm a newbie to all of this and so this answers a lot of questions
Awesome!
Me doing trail skating thru rough surfaces with my 56mm 97a wheels
Oh no!
The radar 57s are indeed harder than the 62s not sure why but my 62s are gummy. I prefer the 62s now unless I’m doing dance/jam.
i love the vibe you give off 👌
This review is everything and your analogies are bomb! Thank you!!
Awesome. Glad it helped.
Very well explained! 😃👍

Skate + Sew 🔥
Love this video, very informative! Would you happen to be a capricorn too?
Nope!
This is quality content! Thank you sooo much for sharing. *clicks subscribe button.* 😉

So the kryptonic were the gummiest? Which ones would you say are best for going over bumpy sidewalks?
Any 65mm 78a wheel is great for bumps, just know larger wheels "roll" faster so a 62mm 78a may be better for control.
Very helpful
do all wheels fit all brands of skates? or you have to get the wheels the same as the brand skates you have? thank you

Thank you for the video! Do I have to buy new bearings always when I buy new wheels ?
No. You can swap the bearings from one set of wheels to another.
@@TipStitched thank you 💜
Wow so helps!!!
Those indoor FAME wheels are still pretty sticky when you first get them, it takes a lot long time to get some glide, I really don't like them.
I stopped trying to use them. I prefer bont parkstars
Hello! Can skateboard wheels be used in quad skates? I can't find any 78a wheels for quads here in my country🥲
Yes as long as they aren't to wide for your trucks.
@@TipStitched thank you so much stay safe!
Do the really soft rubbery outdoor wheels wear out fast?
It depends on how often you skate and on what surfaces, but not really. Rougher surfaces will wear the wheels faster than polished concrete.
Do 85A and 78A feel different?

My bfs hobby is cars I used the the same analogy to explain the wheels hardness to him lol
Great minds!
