    I just bought my first pair of skates. I so badly wanted to buy a pair of moxies however, skates are very limited here in South Africa. I ended up getting the Rio signatures. I was a bit stressed out because skates cost a lot of money and I really wanted to get a pair that will last long. I am very excited to start skating.
    Also, I absolutely love this video.

    Ty for making such an informative video ^.^ important question: What's the boot size of your Lollys and what's the plate size of the Avanti plates you have mounted to them?

  • @alejandralopez-oliveros4590
    @alejandralopez-oliveros4590 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is exciting!! I have two questions:
    I have tried to find videos specifically on how to stop in a pinch when you are outside and on a rough surface (and perhaps also downhill), as that is probably what scares me the most. Any tips?
    A bit random, but how essential do you find the rollerskate (long, thick) socks? Why not just use any thin cotton sock?
    Thanks!

      I think Moxi may have some tutorials on emergency stops on their channel :) What I do is a 180° jump on my toe stops, it does require a lot of practice before you feel comfortable doing it, though. And in a very urgent case - you can always take a knee, your knee pads will get scratched but it's saved me countless times so: worth it. Remember that falling over is not a failure, it's a feature :)

      I know this is a v old question but I do carving/weaving/slaloms/hockey stop. Idk how people do turn around toe stops going down hill. I can do turn around toe stops but doing that on a downhill seems scary to me

    Im currently skating in boardwalks but eventually I want to upgrade to jacks. Would you recommend waiting to get the mag plates until I get the jacks or can I put them on my boardwalks and then eventually take them off and put them on the jacks when I get them?

  • @DrEnglander1999

    Random question - what is the distance (approx) between the bottom of the king pin and the floor? (I know it will depend on the wheels, so let's say 62mm dia.) I'm looking at the Avanti for street and trail skating, and I was wondering whether it would have enough clearance to not get caught on uneven surfaces, detritus, etc. Do you have any thoughts on this? TIA :)
