Wonderful topic!I didn't know that Islam prohibits adoption;that's really sad!Ironically,I have adopted a Muslim child as his own uncle refused to adopt him after his parents' death in an accident!I now know the reason why he didn't adopt such a wonderful baby,who carries his own bloodline..Such a pity!I think adoption is the most wonderful & noble cause which can save millions of orphaned & homeless children around the world!Amen:)

The pretty girl on right said the truth but only half. Mohammad had adopted zaid and gave him his name. Then when he got old enough to marry he married him off to a girl. One day in absence of zaid mohammad went to his home and there he saw his wife (without purdah) and fell for her beauty. He immediately stormed off his home mumbling that god is great god is great. Later when people asked him what happened we said he got a revelation from god and that he had said that zaid' s wife (who was mohammad' s daughter in law) has been bestowed to him as his wife. When people said that this is immoral as she is your daughter in law. Then, mohammad to cover his lust said that it has been ordained to him that from now onwards adopted son are not your legal heirs and hence their wives are also not your daughter in laws. And since there is no relation hence he can marry her. I think its in chapter 33 verse 37. So after this shameful incident adoption was prohibited in islam. So all these explainations offered by the panelists are nothing but lame excuses to cover this incident.
