Meh, jealousy is inevitable when you have parents who are accomplished in the public realm, are well known, respected etc. When you step up and do what *you* love and become accomplished in a very different way from the parents(s) the pettiness and envy increases exponentially. I do hope she makes the 2020 Olympic Equestrian Team. She’s an excellent rider who no one paid much attention to-until she started moving up in the ranks of accomplished riders. She has paid the same dues every other aspiring equestrian pays as well. This is *not* an “easy” undertaking. Much respect and best wishes to her!

Pay for a few lessons on a school horse. Go from there. Do your research on what stable, teacher and philosophy makes sense for you and for the horses. You don't have to have Bruce's big money to get started. Your daughter may be able to offset the lesson fees with stable chores. Great way to learn.
Nope. It is a partnership that takes years of training and tons of work to negotiate courses like that for both horse and rider. No one can just get on a random horse and jump 6 foot oxers.
