Max showed more compassion than Nick. Poor boy was terrified for obvious reasons, he would probably of risked his life if he’d of got there but i know with out a doubt Shona would of protected him whatever the cost. I mean look what she had to do to protect herself & i know she would of done the same if Max was there and am guessing he would of faced his Mums killer if it meant helping Shona. Bless him. She’d die for those kids & do anything to protect them & keep them safe even if that would of been from her own son well especially from him!!! likes she’s said she loves them like her own. He was petrified the whole time she was held hostage and was scared for his David too. Yet he was prepared to go and help her because he didn’t wanna loose another Mum. That bit makes me emotional every time and when she speaks to David on the phone just before she escapes.
The way Nick treated Shona was disgraceful! And the way they all thought & believed Shona would choose and help Clayton over David and the kids after everything and then Gail looked Gob smacked. Not one of them apologised for it either!!! David knew she wouldn’t help him!!! I hated Nick when he first came back. He was awful towards her and how he set up and framed David after everything he’d been thru. David was right when he said he knows nothing about Shona. Where was he when Bethany was been Groomed, when David was Raped and would of killed himself?! And then assuming it was all to do with Shona, it just disgusted me, his relationship choice is nothing to do with Nick, especially when he hadn’t even been around! Shona saved Bethany and David said himself she did the same for him. Nick had no right to come back and be the way he was towards her just because of who her son is, if David and the kids can get past it when Kylie was his wife & their mum then it’s no concern of his. He just felt guilty for pissing off more like. Yes he was brilliant when Shona got ill but that was out of guilt too probably after how appallingly he treated her. Never liked him that much, the way he treated Peter and Leanne, Kylie Steve, etc and how controlling he was.
What Nick doesn’t/didn’t or should see/should of seen back then (think he does now tho) is how much Shona loves and adores David, a women who would do anything to protect him and the kids. A women who just wants to keep them all safe, make them happy, who loves those kids more than her own son!!! He couldn’t see any of that. He disgusted me back then!!! She hated Nick and was angry at him for what he did David and how much he’d hurt David and as for saying she’d made David forgive her son and josh is ridiculous, she hounded Josh and everyone she could to get justice for the man she loves even when David told her not too, she was more angry and hated him more than David yet Nick refused to see that till she was in a Coma!!! Made me furious!!! I think Kylie would be able to see the good in Shona. David knew she wouldn’t help Clayton yet the rest of them doubted her and never even said sorry when she didn’t… assholes.
Why does gail seem really weird in these later episodes? She was always strict, level headed, firm and fair and serious. But she seems so, odd in these ones, like, immature? Did something happen in later epsidodes to cause that? I stopped watching it properly before all these episodes so i dont really know. I am enjoying these episodes though so thanks for the uploads
I love how David calls Gail "Mum" when he is exasperated or scared! It just shows that it's not instinctive and he really does love her.
The David and Gail relationship is incredible
I think it got better while Sarah and Nick were away for all those years. Before that David was always competing with them for her attention.
