Officer Rob: Fremont PD up in Alameda county has a Tesla in Patrol duty currently. May wanna talk with them about what changes they had to do/wish they'd done to their Tesla
yeah, one time they almost ran out of juice during a high-speed pursuit. Denver has a Model S, and Bargersville Police has a Model 3. Several countries own Teslas as patrol cars, including OPP, Belgian police, Luxemburg Police, and Victoria Highway Patrol. The Dubai Police Force wants to own Tesla Cybertrucks.
@@CallMeAhSirHKP OPP, if you mean Ontario Provincial Police- their tesla is not used for patrol, it was made as a concept car to see how future OPP cars would be laid out

The LASD ( The Police Departments in Perry , Eden Prairie , Boulder , Spokane has A Tesla Models too but they said it was not good for A Patrol so they are Phasing it out and Switching to Order those Hybrid Electric Car ( Unnamed Police Department Interceptor )
@@justinkurttoboso2957 FPD seems content with theirs, it did run out of juice in a chase once, but they pointed out it hadn't been charged, and gasoline cars do the same, when they're not refueled enough

Fremont PD in the Bay Area been using there Tesla on patrol for a while now.
And they were in a pursuit and it ran out of battery .

@@EVRacingChannel Nah a Dodge Hellcat is amazing in a long running very lucky car chase. There is that infamous case of a Hellcat out run the Police Helicopter. Model S Raven and older would overheat and dangerous quick drain in like 25 minutes trying to keep up. Maybe Plaid Model S has better cooling and bigger capacity battery to keep up.

Something I earned about from watching another video from a police department on the east coast, I think it was Westport CT. Chief in the video discussed the frunk. The department was planning to use it to store things that other non-officer personnel might need access to. For example, medical equipment. Officer can pop the frunk to give access to that equipment while the rest of the car, especially the trunk, remains secure.
I seen that, But when he also said that the computer was operated by HTML and JSON, he made himself look ignorant, because its a lie.
because he did not know what the hell he was talking about. Tesla would not do that. The computer system is run on Python and C++.
The chief was just regurgitating shit that he heard without knowing or having experience in software development.
HTML is not secured in any way, and is only run base on text for called Hyper Text Markup Language, and JSON is Javascript Object Notion, which is also not secured,
because it runs on key-value pairs. and the Tesla computer does not run on that, let alone be secured.
And yes I AM a software developer.
@@TwstedTV Of course HTML and JSON are really just data storage and transmission. The web browser (or other software) reads these files. That software has the logic in it to determine what to do with the data in those files. HTML and JSON are definitely not programming languages. Hey, I'm also a software developer, since 4th grade.
@@wshaffer79 In an interview with Tesla engineers and Elon Musk himself, the only languages used in all the tesla cars created are Pythin, C, C++ and java. no other languages are used not even html or json.
And this comes from the tesla engineers themselves & the owner elon musk.

I just watched another Tesla police car video, and honestly after having watched that, id say the model 3 is probably a more capable police car... Since its smaller, cheaper and got a bigger center screen the police computer, license plater reader, light control system ETC can be integrated in (which various companies are working on btw, theyre even working on adding license plate reader software to the cars existing cameras), model Y might be even more capable.
Imagine if the police start using the new Model S Plaid, there would be absolutely ZERO chance of escaping.

Nick, you need to seriously come down to Australia to see some of our cop cars! Victoria has M5's (I think they are), Tesla Modle X. NSW has F150, 300C and a bunch of older sporty Holdens. Mercedes All-Terrain E400d, BMW X5s, Kia Stingers, and Tassie uses Subaru Liberty (for the wet roads).
