      I wonder what kinda bottleneck it has on external monitors. Think it would run well with a 16:10 display attached to it? I am assuming like a 1920x1080 displayport or thunderbolt type c mini connector would be ok to game on?

    How to fix the awful speakers Using Nahimic:
    Turn on Nahimic audio enhancement:
    Set it to Music mode:
    Turn on Surround sound
    Do not use Volume stabilizer (personal pref)
    Set Vocals to +2 (Only when using surround)
    Set Bass to +7
    Set Treble to +4
    Your sound should now be noticable more punchy and clear!
    Best of luck and a merry xmas to you all!

    For whatever reason noone seems to mention that if you set windows to turn the screen off after some inactivity (to protect the oled screen), this also turns the fans off. So if you leave it like that in a few minutes it will get scolding hot. I updated bios and most of windows on first run, then left it to download stuff. When i returned to it, most of it was scolding hot, it literally hurt to touch it, well over 50 degrees celsius on the surface. As soon as i woke the screen, the fans ran into overdrive. It took 1 or 2 minutes until it occurred to me that I should check battery temperature and it was 47c after 1 or 2 minutes of maximum cooling… I read on Lenovo’s support site that people reported this problem more than half a year ago and despite this causing high temperatures in lithium batteries and thus imho this should be a priority they still didn’t fix it. In my opinion this issue is serious enough that if they can’t fix it via updates they should have recalled the whole thing as it affects user safety. So if you get this (don’t, but if you still do), set up a black screensaver instead of having it turn off the screen if you don’t like lithium battery fires…. For me, I’m done with Lenovo. Overlooking something like this is one thing, that happens, people make mistakes, but doing nothing about it for months after people reported the problem is in a different league, it’s not just a mistake anymore.

    I have been on a hunt of a 14" Gaming notebook for 6 months now, following are my requirements.
    Portability (ofcourse), Battery timing, RTX 4060, minimum 16gb ram, a good display. On a tight budget, Blade 14 is out, and any laptop with Intel is out too. I am confused between this and G14. G14 has drivers issues with HDMI port and a bunch of others. And this is too new to judge, considering Lenovo's history, I am not doubtful but are the temps good enough to go for it? I am not a hardcore gamer, I just play valorant and some Need for speed for fun. I need it for video editing and training Machine Learning models. How is it for the usecase? TIA

    In my country, other 14" gaming laptops don't exist! The only 14" laptop with a RTX 4060 is the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9 i7-13705h, 80w RTX 4060, 3k touch 165hz display for 2200€.
    The Slim 5 14" starts at 1700€ !
    The model i´m looking at the moment has the Ryzen 7 7840hs (the Ryzen 9 7940hs is also an option, but the performance increase is 5% while it cost's 160€ more, not worth it), RTX 4060, 32GB RAM, 1 TB SSD and the 120hz OLED display, for 1900€ (at the moment 1650€ for a promotion on Lenovo website). BTW i much prefer fast solderem RAM + 2 NVME's VS upgradable SO-DIMM's + 1 NVME, after all isn't 32GB RAM plenty for the future, where has i believe 99% of users are more likelly gonna run out of storage that there are of RAM.
    But i'm not sure ill pull the triger because of the display. It doesn't have G-Sync! Its OLED so black's are black and looks amazing, however there always the fear of Burn-In.
    What i think Lenovo should do is make a Lenovo Legion Slim 7 14".
    Have the full metal construction of the Slim 7, One USB-C gets Thunderbolt, 105w RTX 4070 and either give the OLED G-Sync or change the display to the Mini-Led from the Yoga Pro 9 14" (3k 165hz Mini-Led 600nits).

    Goddamnit. This looks so good. Great video too!
    So quick one: I'm an OLED wh*re, and I'm looking to do some gaming and 3D work on a solid system. Contemplating getting a 2022 Razer Blade 15 OLED because of the extra screen real estate, macbook-esqe build & upgradability. Do you recommend I pick this bad boy up instead?
    Would appreciate a response, thanks!

    Why all these 14" game laptops still have so thick bottom bezel under the screen? Or this is how OEMs get more space for the main body?

  • @wani2000
    @wani2000 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Got this laptop today and I must say it overall feels and handled fantastic for a 14,5 inch laptop. The only sad thing is for sure the lackluster speakers. I mean they're fine but its really not something you would want to watch series och movies with. Obviously a laptop like this is for portability work/gaming and in those scenarious you would most likely use headphones anyways, but still. It is honestly a little dissapointing. For reference I just hand a 2023 Asus zenbook Oled and the build quality and speakers were miles better. Still considering switching back as it was almost half price to. But we'll see how this little rascal holds up.

    • @wani2000
      @wani2000 ปีที่แล้ว

      Feels very sturdy on the outside but the keyboard is kind of underwhelming and it does have some flex courtesy of being plastic. Performance and battery life seems great for such a small 4060 laptop tho!@@shahriarhakim6673
