We have a designated hanger for them in our closets. I believe I show it in my closet makeover for my husband. I've also seen people show baskets that they get from the dollar tree and throw them in. Good luck!
Ever look back on your older videos and feel that sense of pride when you see how far these videos got you 8 years later? You are an amazing person. Keep it up! I love your videos! 👏🏽🙌🏼💗
I love Kathryn's videos! It's interesting to watch her older ones like this ones.....now she is a Mom of one and soon to be another one. I have learned so much from her videos. My bedroom closet looks amazing and my pantry/laundry room look amazing because of her. I encourage you to watch all of her videos including her Do it on a Dime Family :)
Can I just say that your bins make me happy! My husband always says “oh my word, you and your darn bins!! Nobody organizes like that!” Ha! I’ve been using bins for years and years because it feels so clean and less anxiety inducing. Recently he asked me to help him organize his garage. Guess what he said “I can’t believe I’m even asking you this, but I need a bin idea...” 😆 the teaser has become the student!!! Loving your videos thank you!!
I saw your video and decided to try the basket idea. And I really liked it! Even though I don't have much stuff, I like having "a home" for everything so that I know where it goes, and I can reach for it right away. It helps me feel like I'm being a good steward of the stuff that I do have. Thanks again for the idea!
Having separate baskets for lights and darks work really well for me so it doesn't get full so fast. A laundry room tour is on my list! Thanks for watching!
I've shown almost all of your videos to my mother, who wants to organize them home. She said "Wow! She's got ideas for everything!" Totally love watching your videos. Truly you've inspired me to become creative with space!
I'm out of breath just listening to you talk, but love every second. So much information without a lot of extraneous chatter. You seem like such a nice lady.
I loved your laminating tip. I have been using it and I just made some awesome labels for 2 wire baskets I have in my office for photo albums and maps. I printed the labels on some parchment type resume paper, cut them out, wrinkled them up and then lightly singed the edges with a lighter. I laminated them and hung them on the baskets and they look so cool- thanks to you! Love your videos!!
I recently bought the green square bins that you have in your bath closet. Considering the thickness, I find it a really good item from the Dollar Tree. For this fall, they have brought out the same design but in a deep purple, red and orange colors. And, I bought the larger version for my office cabinets (boss seemed pleased to see things more organized). I recall in 1 of your videos you saying to keeps colors the same to give a cohesive look. I'm drawn to the green DT offers. I love it!
I did just one shelf in my cabinet where we keep the snacks(it was a HOT mess) with your suggestions and my DH was like "Wow that looks good!" I felt like an organizing goddess LOL!!! I'm going to keep my eyes open for inexpensive baskets and then I'll probably spray paint them so they coordinate with the décor. Thanks for the ideas! Love the energy!!
Yes I use food cans. Ive used soup tins with the label off for some of my sample perfumes and even some flat mackerel tins (I know it sounds gross, but when they are washed they are fine and not on show) and I use these for Kirby grips and other hair slides:)
OM- Jibabah!!! Love the way you think! Organize on the cheap side and spend on the fun stuff! Great ideas with making odds and ends organized! You could move so easily and do spring cleaning so much easier. I'm impressed with the fact you took it as a fun challenge rather than a task. Great JOB!!!
good job. In my kitchen cabinet I have a couple of those drawer trays..baking spices in one and savory spices in the other. After the jar of spaghetti sauce is gone..and jar is washed out, it is a great size to put dry rice or beans to store.
Kathryn, you've inspired me, and I've found a few things at my Dollar Tree that are helpful organizing in our house. Have you ever used diaper boxes for organization? There are lot of DIY videos/blog posts on how to cover them with fabric. I haven't tried that yet, but I have used scrapbook paper. Sturdy, no additional cost in our household, and pretty once I put paper on them. I'd love to see a video if you do a project with diaper boxes.
Neat ideas...love the cosmetic bags in the cabinet...you can find lots of them at the Goodwill store. I have some I use to organize my purse! One has pen, paper, calendar, checkbook. Another has my make-up, another has my camera and extra batteries, one has my cell phone and address book, etc.
OK yeah, this is what I've been looking for. Organizing for the average person. Not another show home, renovation, or impractical ideas for renters. Off to the Dollar Tree! Love your "lamination" machine!
loved the video, thank you for the tips and mostly for your uplifting positive personality! you are raising the vibration of others who watch you too, whether they realize it or not, which is extra needed in our world every day!
I absolutely love your energy and thank you so much for the ideas you have given me. As you mentioned, my wife is a little messy but its time to reorganize our apartment. But thanks so much again.
We have a linen closet in the hallway :) I made a video about it if you want to see the organization. It's called "Home Organization Tips...for under $5"
you can use magazine holders for canned goods makes a nice little dispenser and clip clothes hangers to seal bags of chips and cereal if you have the wire shelves in your pantry
I re-use the zippered plastic bags that pillowcases (I buy all my bedding at Ross) come in for bottles when I travel - baby oil, perfume, makeup, etc. They are handy, easy to clean, see-thru and it's not a tragedy if you end up having to toss one.
I got them from Dollar Tree as well. I've gone before and they are sold out, but they are still on their website, I think. I'll put the "laminating" video on my list. :) Take care!
I love this video.. and your other Dollar Tree ones and yes Goodwill/Thrift Stores have like the BEST purses lol. It's always a game for my sister and I to see who can get them 1st!!
I think your videos are great. Yesterday I organized my bathroom. I used several of your tips and because of you I used a couple of things already had. I also got some things at Dollar Tree. It saved me a lot of money. I have watched several of your videos and I think you should have your own show. Great job!!
Kathryn - I love your videos but I've never commented before so I decided to come back to an old favorite for my inaugural comment! Keep up the good work! (We used to live in an area without a Dollar Tree, however we recently moved and there's on nearby. My husband actually laughed when I pointed it out because he knows I like to watch your videos, and he knows you like the Dollar Tree :) )
Tip I learned about the Go od will stores. Go to the ones in areas where the pricier homes are because they have the best selection on good quality stuff. If you go to the ones in more depressed areas you won't find as good stuff.
flashlights, vacuum clearner bags, small tools, tape, batteries and the list goes on. Have one in the bath that frees up cabinet and closet space. Going to check out more of your videos.
I LOVE your videos!!! Its inspiring me to actually go to the Dollar Tree to start getting organizing stuff! I knew they had organizing stuff but didnt realize how much i needed to start organizing until i jad a child lol!! So thank you amd i look forward to more videos!
I just found your video today and I love it. I wish you come over to my house and help me organize. I used to be really organized until my daughter starting walking and it's been hard to keep things clean and organize.
Love your organization, may I recommend Huggable Hangers to you from HSN. Truly the last hanger you will ever buy. There are some imitations out there but the flocking wears off so don't be fooled. The hanger is slim and nothing ever falls off of it. My clothes closet is now a thing of beauty instead of a nightmare. Btw I also purchased canvas organizers with multiple pockets of various sizes that go on the back or front of a door. I use in the kitchen for alum foil, plastic wrap,
A very good, clear container for putting bras and undies, socks etc., is the containers that salad greens come in. They are square plastic. The clear, plastic containers from Sams Club that nuts come in also, hold cotton balls, home made powder laundry detergent, hotel shower caps etc.
unfortunately i don't. when i lived in spain, i used to go to those cheap stores that were usually owned by people from asia that sold lots of organizing products. i've seen them there before for just a couple of euro. do you have those in finland?
enjoyed it, I too store my cotton balls and q-tips and white floss picks in clear jars, I use Mason jars and have tan labels and it really pulls together that southern looking I'm striving for , I live in a single wide, with my husband and four kids, and my coupon stockpile, lol, organisation is my only means of sanity, Mason jars are my new organisation tactic though, I think cause I can decorate and organise :) :) :) get it girl!!!!
If anything I just love hearing you explain everything...lol...you are too funny and so into what you're doing. Thanks for all the info and the inspiration! I'm gonna check out the rest of your vids!
Oh my goodness you are the best you tube find EVER!!. Please keep making videos. Special Request: Do one on couponing. I'm struggling to get into it because I never seem to find coupons on things i buy regularly
i accidently ran into your video... AND I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR PERSONALITY! I FEEL IM TALKING WITH MY BESTFRIEND AND WE ARE TOTALLY GIVING EACH OTHER TIPS!!!!! ADORABLE!
Nice Video! Thank you for some great ideas! Let me add for the pet owners out here- the best food storage tip that works for me is to store dry food and a scoop in a kitchen drawer- inside a slightly smaller plastic bin to line/protect the drawer. Now, my dogs don't chew or scratch- some pets might just claw their way into the drawer- my don't, not for 4 years of storing their food this way. It's soooo easy to feed every morning. I also use a dish-drainer pad under their food and water bowls- it catches a lot of drips that otherwise turn into wet paw prints....
Omg - I wish I had a friend like you here where I live! We think "exactly" alike! I absolutely HATE buyers remorse...if I have to pay full price for something, I'll sit there and ponder and ponder it-half the time i just say 'forget it' and take it back. BUT at goodwill or other thrift shops, its like a treasure hunt, an adventure. You feel good about it bc you know you got a deal. Plus you can't take things back! Lol. (I think clothes can be exchanged for like 7 days, though)
I know it! :( Mine NEVER has them, though. I don't know if they sell out, or my store just doesn't carry them. I paid a premium $2.50 @ Target, I guess. :)
I am an oranization FREAK and let me tell you, girl... Dollar Tree is where to be when you want containers that are cute and super functional! For a dollar each...how can one go wrong!? Great video!
Let me count the ways for which I love you! 1 you are areal person, not that pompous Alejandra chick who is like rubbing in our faces how grand and better her home is because she color coded her toilet paper. 2. You don't make people feel bad and dirty. 3. you are not uptight .....I love your simple solutions to simple problems!!! Thank you!!!
I hung a shoe organizer on the back of our bathroom door & use the pockets to place items like extra toothbrushes, extra shampoo, extra bath soap, etc.
I LOVE YOU! I'm the kid in my house, and I live with just my dad. And he never cleans -_- and he just throws his stuff everywhere but with your help I just know what to do with all his stuff now! Thank you so much! (Sorry for the late reply)
This is one of the best organizing videos... straight to the point, you talk fast, video is clipped so I'm not watching you walk around to the next room. Great! 2 thumbs up! :)

thank you :) i believe it was from either walmart or target, but i know they carry similar products at both. good luck!

Thanks :) I got the cabinet from BB&B a while back! I'm pretty sure they still have them...
I'm out of breath just listening to you talk, but love every second. So much information without a lot of extraneous chatter. You seem like such a nice lady.

Love your video , ideas, attitude and outlook. So cheery and chipper!
I like your organising!!! Especially I like the idea with jars in the bathroom!!!
try using long laundry baskets for deep kitchen cabinets to be able to slide out and reach less frequently used items. a real knee saver!
I recently bought the green square bins that you have in your bath closet. Considering the thickness, I find it a really good item from the Dollar Tree. Your growth is amazing. Been watching you for a days in 2020 😊. Ready to declutter and organize EVERYTHING. NC love. Bless you.
This organizing video is the best I've seen because it realistic for the majority of people. Those dollar stores can be lifesavers.
good job. In my kitchen cabinet I have a couple of those drawer trays..baking spices in one and savory spices in the other. After the jar of spaghetti sauce is gone..and jar is washed out, it is a great size to put dry rice or beans to store.

Thank you. I'll definitely be using some of your tips. Its great that you went through the whole home all on one clip. Makes it more handy to access.
loved the video, thank you for the tips and mostly for your uplifting positive personality! you are raising the vibration of others who watch you too, whether they realize it or not, which is extra needed in our world every day!
I absolutely love your energy and thank you so much for the ideas you have given me. As you mentioned, my wife is a little messy but its time to reorganize our apartment. But thanks so much again.
Where have you been all my life?!?! You are speaking my language...Cheap & Organized! I SO look forward to watching your videos!!!
Those dollar store bins are a life saver when it comes to organizing a home,,and they are sturdy.
We have a linen closet in the hallway :) I made a video about it if you want to see the organization. It's called "Home Organization Tips...for under $5"
I do the same when I organise! I completely agree - organising isn't about spending lots of money on items. Great video!
you can use magazine holders for canned goods makes a nice little dispenser and clip clothes hangers to seal bags of chips and cereal if you have the wire shelves in your pantry
You''re a real and personable individual. Your whisper at 4:30 even shows it lol thank you for sharing your ideas.

You can also get scrap lumber from Home Depot ( Cull lumber ) and it's usually about 50 cents a piece. And I got good stuff too.

I liked your ideas and I agree there is no shame in using Goodwill or Thrift stores to get baskets, bins and storage items on the "cheap". Great job!

The green trays in your cabinet with the peanut butter in it I bought today at dollartree.
Let me count the ways for which I love you! 1 you are areal person, not that pompous Alejandra chick who is like rubbing in our faces how grand and better her home is because she color coded her toilet paper. 2. Great organizing tips. God Bless. There is so much stuff in a modern household its baffling. keep em coming.

Love to shop at the Goodwill. I thought I was the only one. LOL! Good organization tips to follow. Can't wait for more.
I like the way you organized your pantry and bathroom cabinets. thank u for viewing your home.
Looks good! I love to laminate with packing tape, it's how I make pretty paper bookmarkers. I also love the dollar store!!!
I hung a shoe organizer on the back of our bathroom door & use the pockets to place items like extra toothbrushes, extra shampoo, extra bath soap, etc.
Love the tape laminating idea! Great video. I'm hopelessly unorganized and we're down-sizing so I seriously need to "straighten up"!!!!
I LOVE YOU! I'm the kid in my house, and I live with just my dad. And he never cleans -_- and he just throws his stuff everywhere but with your help I just know what to do with all his stuff now! Thank you so much! (Sorry for the late reply)
The tower bins you had in your cabinet are actually available at the dollar tree! Thought you might wanna check em out :D
Yup. Definetly going to use your tips and go to the dollar tree. I always go to target though!
This is one of the best organizing videos... straight to the point, you talk fast, video is clipped so I'm not watching you walk around to the next room. Great! 2 thumbs up! :)
wow amazing! I do the same concept to organize my makeup just reuse and put everything i have to storage (pasta plastic box, tupper ware,a clear jar, mineral bottle) anything that can keep my things organize ^_^
those green bins as well as the white bins in your kitchen cabinets they have similar ones at dollar tree too
I got an idea for you... adhere a magnetic strip to that cabinet in your bathroom for your bobby pins. Hope you find it useful. Enjoyed your video!
Great ideas! I added your video to my play list "How to organize your life". Thanks!
