- The 2021 redistricting process is in full swing, and the League of Women Voters of South Carolina has released their maps for consideration by the SC Legislature. In this event, we also show the public our maps, discuss the implications that gerrymandered districts have on the democratic process, and show how redistricting can be done in a way that prioritizes voters' best interests. Good information. thank you for posting.
I’m new to politics (I.e I finally started getting involved at 30 years of age) and I am an SC resident. In reviewing the numbers and maps these last 6 months, I have felt very strongly about this topic to the point where I’d say I envy swing states like Wisconsin that have 95% turnout which I think is incredible. Our numbers alone in recent elections show the diversity across our state and I do not believe the current maps come close to accurately representing our people and I think that is such a shame (don’t get me started on district 1). This video has been an incredible watch and I thank you all for your hard work in this mission of fair mapping. I suppose I wonder how else I can get involved from here? I’m big into the numbers and love hearing response from all voters both of which have taught me the importance of my own.
