    This is wonderful.
You are helping yoing people go from an initial 20/50, (-0.75 D ) to 20/20, ( + 0.25 D) in about one year. That is a true communication effort and success for the person.

Historical Significance: Maurice Brumer was known for his vigourous and sustained advocacy of using plus lenses for the control of myopia, so vigourous that he disrupted the optometry section Presidential address at the 1978 ANZAAS meeting in Melbourne in a way that attracted local TV stations. He was protesting the refusal of the optometry ANZAAS committee to accept his paper. He also represented his views to the Federal Minister for Health. He was so disputatious that he was expelled from membership of the AOA and became engaged in legal dispute with it. His campagn for his views was certainly sustained: it began in 1977 and continued to at least 2008, some 30 years, during which time he practised various forms of harassment of the optometrists who has opposed his views. These included faxing long documents overnight to exhaust the ink and paper in the recipients fax machines. Brumer is now retired. See Cat No 887 and 1682 for additional documentation of this dispute. See also the book The therapeutics of ocular refraction 1942 written by his father, Victor Brumer, also an optometrist, who expresses similar views on the treatment of myopia (Cat N

      LEGALLY BLINDING - MYOPIZATION
THE BIGGEST CONSUMER CRIME IN HISTORY
There are many frauds in the world, engineered by greedy, unscrupulous people. Getting shoddy goods, or losing one's money entirely is common. But what about a situation where you lose your money and your most precious gift, your vision, at the same time? And what if this is happening to defenceless children in every country of the world?
Myopia, or nearsightedness, is not inherited but is caused by excessive reading and other close work.
Few people, faced with the prospect of blindness in old age, realize that their problems actually began in childhood when they were first fitted with the first pair of corrective (negative) lenses by someone who was probably unconcerned about the tragic, long-term results of that action.
Few people realize how their situation became more precarious each time their glasses were strengthened and nothing was said about prevention. The patient has been a lifelong victim of ignorance and exploitation by 2050, it is expected that myopia will be the leading cause of blindness.
MYOPIA CAN BE PREVENTED BY THE USE OF "PLUS POWER" READING GLASSES

Otie Brown Raphaelson spoke, through his children's eyes. Brumer, spoke, and was drummed out of the Victorian Optometry Society. Galileo spoke, and escaped with his life. Being scientifically honest and truthful, does not pay! Who wants to become a martyr for your personal welfare? No OD wants to sacrifice his life, so you can gain skill and knowledge to keep your distant vision clear - for life? No Optometrist has the courage to make statements about the behavior of…
