Rebecca’s Beautiful ASMR Addiction I’ve been homeschooling for 12 years. My son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was in kindergarten. The school system where we lived at the time did not want to help us with his education unless we agreed to put him on medication. Otherwise I probably wouldn’t be homeschooling, but I think it turned out well! I’m sure you did great! It’s an unnerving decision at first, for sure...
Oh no Cassie... I was an utter failure. It takes a very special person to be able to do homeschooling. I sense that about you. And since your son has ADHD you understand what I deal with on my bus. We do have a special-needs program all over town. But I do wonder if our schools require medication. That is very interesting. Thank you for sharing. If you’re not comfortable with this information being on a public forum please feel free to delete your comment. I’m OK with it though.
Rebecca’s Beautiful ASMR Addiction Oh no, it’s ok! I wouldn’t make the comment if I wasn’t ok with it being here. I think God gives us the tools we need to do what’s best for our individual children! The school didn’t necessarily require medication, but when my son was first diagnosed, after we told his teacher, we were basically called into a meeting with the principal, the school psychologist, and several other people. They “strongly suggested” 🙄...that meds were the way to go if he was to be successful. And my son was on the spectrum, but his symptoms were nowhere near being severe enough for me to think he needed meds. It was a bad experience for us all, but I’m glad I did what I did. He’s perfectly fine now. You can tell he is a little different, but he’s happy, and functions well during school at home. I’m not against meds by any means, but I don’t think it’s always necessary. Sorry, I’ve typed a book, haha!
I don’t know if this makes any difference but I think that meds should be avoided if at all possible. But if it’s necessary then by all means utilize what is available. Right now I’m taking hormone therapy because I can’t stand my menopausal symptoms. But if I didn’t have to, I would not! I won’t even take ibuprofen if I don’t have to. Medicine tweaks our bodies. Much better if we can live without it. That’s just my opinion. I think you are a wise mom.
Love this video! Just looking at it all and hearing you talk about the children reminded me of my own bus drivers as a child (a long time ago). I had *wonderful* bus drivers, a man named "Rick" and a woman named "Marcy" (I think); I can still see their faces. They were such wonderfully kind people. Thank you for keeping kids safe, watching over them, and caring for them on their way to and from school. It is such an important job.
Those are some great memories Amanda! How lucky that you had some nice bus drivers! I can’t believe you remember their names. I would never be able to recall the faces much less the names of my bus drivers. But then, I hated school so much that I probably felt like they were just taking me away to prison. lol! I do love my kids on the bus.

I had to go to a place called Knoxville,TN when I did 2 weeks of training for a company I worked with a long time called SYSCO Foods. That was a pretty cool town. Lots of cool breweries, and a University of course..nice city and state..especially those Smokey Mountains🤘🏻👍🏻
I know SYSCO food company! Familiar with Portland Oregon too as I once lived in Salem. There are many Portland towns in the US. So cool that you have been to the Smokie Mountains! I haven’t been there yet. But I have been to Chatanooga twice. Such a neat old city.

He actually gets to attend the Helen Keller school in Talledega, AL, so there’s a whole school full of Rebeccas there! 💖 It’s wonderful! We are just ready to get back into our routine. You know specials thrive with routine.
Oh I know about the routine thing. Kids get so upset when I switch their seats. How great that you get to send your young man to such a nice place! Our kids go till 21 also. But some quit at 16.

The question seems apropos considering your profile name. 😉 But the answer is no. Not something I would’ve likely learned in my lifetime. Can I make a video of it... hmmm 🤔 I don’t know. I don’t think so. But I do have a video I’m planning to do with keys. I could include a couple of locks in there. Maybe see if I can fit a key into them.
I used to make those. Origamis. Yeah, we used to write inside them too. Now, I completely forgot how to make them. Isn't that wild! I used to make boats & paper hats (my dad taught me.) I forgot how to make those too. I also had to go on TH-cam, to re-learn doing stitches with lanyards. I have a memory like an elephant. 🤷🏽♀️👩🏽🦳😁

I am in Tennessee. Sumner is an historic name. It’s bound to be in a few different places in the US. What’s really weird is I live in Portland. There are soooo many Portland‘s in the United States! 😂

I just remembered that I made this video when I was a special needs school bus attendant. The ID in the front of the backpack was genuine school district. A few of the items in my video were job related.
