Went through this plant in the summer of 1964 when they were building Mustangs. I owned an early 1965 Mustang for almost 35 years--it was built in the second week of production.
Thanks for sharing this with us Tony. My dad retired from Ford Motor Company. He worked at the Hapeville (Atlanta) plant then the truck plant in Louisville Kentucky.
That was awesome. As a ford guy I'd love to see that. I was not much into pick up trucks back in the day they were just trucks but now they are just like luxury cars and i love the new Ford trucks
@@tonyscarcare5657 I have been hearing of a number of dealers who do not want them because they do not sell. The Ford dealership in Mitchell, SD had 9 or 10 of them on their lot in December. When we were by there again in late February they were all still there. I do suppose in a metro area like STL they may make sense.
Very interesting. I have been to the museum and Greenfield village but have not done the Rouge tour. Fairlane and Edsel Ford’s house are interesting too.
Thursday, December 22nd, 2022, After my 34 years, 3 months, 2 weeks and 4 and a half days at The Ford Motor Company's Rouge Complex, I Thank God for my Ford Motor Company's Pension, and Heath Care Insurance Policy that I began receiving on January 1ST, 2007 nearly 19 Years ago as an excellent HARD HAT, Blue Collar employee. We need to get back to that kind of manufacturing again, raw materials in one end and finished goods out the other, and stop relying on foreign sources for vital components.
I showed everything they would allow. And even when you take the tour, you see final assembly only, not stamping and painting. No cameras are allowed in the final assembly. I would be escorted out.
My Uncle (peaty whet-straw) Ran a milling lathe at that monster of a factory from 1963 until he suffered a torsion rupture of his balls due to lifting a 400 lb steel plate. He got workman’s comp and stayed home. When his common law wife Annie Mae left, He had that 4 bedroom house to make payments on. I loved that big block house because it had a fully finished basement! Peaty set up a Full Bar! And a pool table and jukebox too! They had gambling on the weekends and a crab 🦀 crack with BBQ 🍗 And cold beer. I decided to move over and rent one room to help him out. One day I got a message on my cell phone when I left class it was from Peaty, told me not to come home until he sends the all clear. I saw a movie and just went home without checking. Damn! Peaty had a couple of prostitutes turning out tricks in a couple of the bedrooms! He set me down and handed me a beer and said he was going to start running whores with all of this extra room and open up the basement for gambling and drinking and playing pool until the next John get a chance to go upstairs and “Ground and pound”! In no time at all he has five of the most beautiful Ebony queens I have ever seen! living in that house and turning out tricks when the plant let out and on especially on payday. My job was to do all the laundry mop the floors keep everything spotless, vacuum dust and make the girls beds in the morning after they wake up and I always got a freebie whenever I wanted it but these girls were so good and made you believe they were getting off until you would be spent within three minutes! There was one girl name Johnny May and she was put together by the devil! One time she was getting dressed and she turned sideways and I could see it was nothing fake about her at all and I mentioned something about that and she said and this business you have to get a trick off fast ! because time is money! So that’s my story about the plant and my experience like all good things one Nager will ruin everything because one night one monkey shot and killed another one over some gambling! We made a ton of money over $380,000 in the seven months we were running the joy house!

Randy West Love ❤ Been at Ford Rouge Factory 🏭 Tour by The Henny Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan USA 🇺🇲.
Yep, it's great!

I totally agree!
Them cars were built at the old Dearborn Assembly plant. They make F 150s in the new Dearborn Truck plant.
Ha ha my 1993 fox body notch back was built there !
Yep, until 2005.
Thanks for the walk through great vid except for the green roof BS and lightning demand, yea right.
I've only been a subscriber for a few weeks Tony, but I'm beginning to get the feeling you *might* be a Ford guy... 🤔
Well I was pretty much raised on them and Henry Ford has always been my Idol sooooo you may not be wrong. Thanks for watching!
I thought u were allowed to do a walk thru tour in the assembly part?
You are, and I did, but there's no phones or cameras allowed.
@@tonyscarcare5657 yeah, I commented a little before u said that!! Sorry. Lol. 😎💪🇺🇸
@@edwardstroko4665 oh okay.......no problem.
Did not see an Edsel in display 😅
Those are only cars that were built at The Rouge Factory.
Was under the impression that there would be a factory tour, you know, the foundry, the stamping plant, assembly, etc. but I guess NOT!
I showed everything they would allow. And even when you take the tour, you see final assembly only, not stamping and painting. No cameras are allowed in the final assembly. I would be escorted out.
My family gets a discount for Ford motor company automatically
I wish I did.
Why does that woman have a bandana across her mouth?
why is she wearing a mask?
Why not?
is that the Mustang that was found in Newfoundland, Canada?
I don't know the answer to that. Sorry.
