Before anyone loses their mind, the Cortina was supposed to have a Twincam in, and i mistakenly said it was a cross flow!! When you're faced with this many classics, you're bound to get things wrong due to all the excitement, so please dont hold me against it 🤣🤣🤣
The mk2 transit is ex airport fire service appliance, they are never/ rarely outside of the airport/ on the road so sometimes have only even have only say 5 k on them, but that one may have seen some use by a 2nd owner etc as he obv didn’t buy it from an airport or he’d know, the white sierra xr4x4 had Jersey number plates, the escort van wasn’t necessarily a camper but it’s porthole windows defo show that it endured the custom van scene of the 70s into early 80s when they were popular additions ( I kid you not that round my way in the 80s there was a marina van that the guy had stuck two washing machine doors in the side of it with the glass bulging out the way 😂) hope some of that is of help/ interest 😊
From one Stu to another dont get ya sen in a hotpot over what you say in a video by mistake.Over the years of watching your videos I've corrected a few of your mistakes or lack of knowledge of a certain vehicle ie history of a car make etc.I'm not a ford lover never will be but i know my eggs on ford as sadly my mates into them.I've owned a few but everytime my fingers got burnt.I would never ever entertain one as long as i live and breathe on this planet.Perhaps you needed a commentator with alot less excitement that knows about lotus twin cam engines and knows what a cross flow looks like lol..I'm available most days as semi retired these days lol 😂😂😂😂
8k for a rust bucket,,all sitting outside.. maybe come to aus.. 8k for a mint body, not rusted to sht.. you missed the ford matadore.. best car there.. AMERICAN..
I saw those Escorts Rst and Rs1600i on the back of a transporter this week, which was posted on a Facebook feed. Stuart, your channel is amazing to be documenting these cars so fast hats of to you best in the business no one else is providing this amount of classic abandoned car content. Thanks for the update 👏 😊
This was hugely fascinating ! - Some very nice, rare fords there ! - That green MKII Ford Escort Mexico replica caught my eye ! - Great video - Well done filming all this lot !
Awesome video brother 👌 cool location and what a selection of vehicles!! Unreal 😮 I want to save all of them! 🤦♂️🤣 Thank you for the shout out bro ❤️👍
Yes bro! I saw a good few of these cars last week, someone posted a video of 2 car transporters at a petrol station fully loaded with some of them, the series one and the 1600i were on the same transporter along with mk1 escort estate to name but a few
I am totally mind blown, and forget about the RS turbo and the 1600i it's all about that lotus cortina worth more than them two all day long so hope thats gets sold quick so does not need to be there, great video stu. 👍
Oh my gosh all those beautiful rare classic cars rotting away out in the open they need to be stored in a proper storage unit so don’t deteriorate further. Great video Stu
Got a soft spot for those twin axle mk2 transits, used to love seeing them as a kid, i thought they were "racing" ones because of the flared rear arches! 😂
Back in the late seventies, early eighties a friend I used to know he & his brothers had many Lotus cortinas between them the first thing they did to them was pull out the demanding lotus engine & put in a tuned up 1600 GTengine. I remember seeing around 5 lotus engine's hidden in the corner of his workshop. All long gone & built upon now 😢
if that stories true that shows the intellect of your average blue oval lovie ie put something less well engineered into an already poor quality made car.
Insane collection of Fords! Lovely to see so many in good condition from Portugal, Jersey etc. Great that they’ve all been saved by this chap and hope they can be bought and/or parts put to good use. Looking forward to seeing the time-lapse video on the truck. Great video 👍👍
The escort with ‘reverse steer’ will possibly have the x member turned and the left and right front legs swapped over side to side. That’ll do that, I had to flip my x member to fit the K24 and mine did that until I put a lhd rack on it.
I know Mike well. His place is not a million miles from me. Bought a Hillman super minx from him and also sold him an Ariel motorbike. Always up for a deal. Nice man.

Nice Video of all those Fords Stokze 😮 wow they all are just going to rotten and waste away. Wow 😮 what a shame and they are rear fords to mate. But great footage 👍 keep it up 👍 Don’t. Limit your self. Cheers👏👏
another good showing some really good cars there just abit rusty but can be rebuilt with some money and hard work look forward to the next one keep up the good work imstokze 🚙🚙🚙
Mk2 Granada Scorpio Stu. Basically old skool salavge. Fair play definitely a market for it. But a few units would be helpful to stop them rotting more.
That Lotus Cortina has HOO registration which signifies it was registered in Essex, probably by Ford themselves. The orange / grey Transit is similar to the German fire service one restored on Wheeler Dealers. Hope that info helps you.
No mate.. The BDA was in the Mk1 RS1600 and Mk2 RS1800, the Mk1 Escort Twin Cam had the same Lotus motor as fitted to the Lotus Cortina, the Cortina never got the BDA 👍
Don't worry about the know it alls , way we learn sometimes is getting things wrong, can identify cross flow engines by the exhaust manifold being on one side and the intake manifold the other side , us vauxhall guys did use the crossflows to make our vauxhalls faster but that was only until the vauxhall 1.8 redtop and 2.0 redtop came out
Some great finds stu looking forward to seeing the rest of the place in your up and coming ....the yellow MK1 escort next to the engine and white MK2 ..really nice I'd buy it if I could ....which one gets your vote m8 ...??? Keep it going 👍
The Transit had fire service on the passenger side door, dunno how you didnt notice that as you went to that side earlier in your video, unless you edited the video slightly wrong. There have been a number of these on a well known auction site over the years and most I think have been from Switzerland. I had a twin wheel mk2 back in the 90s, it was sign written as a builders van but was actually some sort of spy/reconocent van. Had a portaloo compartment, sliding covers over the rear vents so the could spy out of them also a place where 2 way radio had been fitted. I never did find out who owned it for that purpose. Oh and mine had steel rear arches where that fire one probably has black rubber ones.
The green mk1 escort will either be a 1300 sport or a Gt great video stu cool location glad they are all going to 3 saved looking forward to the rest of the videos ❤
@@craigstewart5950 Hiya Craig yeah it could be a type 49 shell it would be best advice to anyone would be to check the vin numbers with owners club and look for the strengthing modifications even back in the day lots of Mexicos and Rs models could of been faked not that I'm trying to say it's not genuine
As ever.....your smashing it out of the park with these vids mate, your hard work is appreciated and please keep doing what you do however you want to do it. 👍
Bloke is sitting on a gold mine that lotus courtina is ment to have a twin cam and not a cross flow in it trouble is most of them are left hand drive and the rot in them so would take a full restoration is huge but there is a big demand for them and people will pay silly money for fords welding not a problem for me but the money for them just to much that mk1 escort van is really rare and nice the bloke knows wat there worth but good of your brother to sort you out
I kn Portugal cars is no much rust I kn my own country but let me down and hard to go back ,but really great to see few old number plates from Portugal crazy find buddy
I had a v 6 version of the transit custom model mk 1 twin axle in grey took my band all round the uk no breakdowns and I only paid 140quid for it parked it up for about a year rear brake drums seized and I gave it to the scrap man for free ...sacrilege enough said ...wish I had her now...CROWEMAN IN THE UK
One careful owner. 🤣 A lot of those could be restored, only it’s got stupid the amount people want for piles of rust now. Reflects an overheated market that can’t go on forever. Still interesting though. 👍
Great video but sadly I don't think the RS1600i is a real one. XR3i rear spoiler and interior. I owned 2 many years ago But great find keep them coming
buy the lotus cortina, put it in a barn then call car sos and pretend its been stored for 40 years 🤔😜😂 as for the mark 1 escort, it’s just like the one a cut up in 1985 so I could build a Dutton…well who knew 😢
lf these cars are all from abroad how did he get them to where they are now as all of them can't be driven? The Lotus Cortina with a price tag of 8K is a bit optimistic as the engine and gearbox are wrong plus the thing is so rotten if you opened the doors and sat in it it would probably break in half, l would imagine being a Ford the sills both sides will be non existent by now. The green Mexico lookalike was in very good nick, but for me it would have to be the Capri 3L S, though l'd sell the Essex engine and replace it with Ford 302 engine and 2.8 5 speed gearbox. l'm with you with the Transit it would make a great camper.
Before anyone loses their mind, the Cortina was supposed to have a Twincam in, and i mistakenly said it was a cross flow!! When you're faced with this many classics, you're bound to get things wrong due to all the excitement, so please dont hold me against it 🤣🤣🤣
But you were right. That was a crossflow. If that’s a lotus (which I doubt) it’s missing it’s vital part.
We already lost our minds 😂

It was also on TH-cam.

Nice to see a collection of old motors that are actually there to be saved! Makes a refreshing change 👍
Totally get the passion, people unable to grasp why you have such a passion. i have x3 MK Ford Mondeos v, w & x plated, use them every day

That would be a good challenge trying to drive that reverse steer 😂
One of your best yet 👌🏻 absolutely love classic fords. What a collection!
Judging by the number plate on the opposite steer Escort it belonged to the Bill Gwynne rally school.
The escort with ‘reverse steer’ will possibly have the x member turned and the left and right front legs swapped over side to side. That’ll do that, I had to flip my x member to fit the K24 and mine did that until I put a lhd rack on it.

I've only got one word to say about this video and the cars in it.......SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The engine won't make too much difference with the Lotus Cortina. As it is completely original otherwise. What a find 💯
Also, a good 1.6 cross flow is worth a bob or two now💷💷💷💷💷💷💷

Another excellent video stokes love to see all the old cars still out there 🎉🎉
Good Saturday video stu looking forward to part 2

Great content stu

Just to add the transit was not a “work van “ it was a fire alliance so the KM is probably correct having spent it’s life in a rural town or village
The escort with goofy steering has a lefthand drive steering rack on it that has been flipped over.
another good vid 10 out of 10

Did you realise the rs1600i if there imports they xr3i boot spoiler and dont have roll top headrests
Even the metal recycling company’s don’t buy rust
I wish we could have looked at the blue ford Mustang which you walk straight pass . would that be in the future video s?
That ‘Rs1600i’ is an xr3i badged as an rsi

That is ford focus mk3 Dashboard and Centre piece for the Radio on the floor there buy the shop van
That mk2 Cortina h is 69/70 😊
My dad had a mk2 tranny in that exact configuration. OYG 188W
Someone with a DESIRE…MiG welder, some disposable income, time and space can certainly rebuild one/some of these gems..
Hello bud that number is incorrect you put for Michael
the rs1600i is portuguese look at the plate ;D
Wherever they are in the world they all end up here
Stana bitta dayin up 😬
Great video but sadly I don't think the RS1600i is a real one. XR3i rear spoiler and interior. I owned 2 many years ago
But great find keep them coming
Is that lotus just a made up 1600? Why would they remove the TC engine? Suspicious.

the transit probably fire service
