Not far from me in South Wales, owner was jailed for not complying with health and safety at site regarding dangerous structures and forklifts. was always a popualar breakers when i was growing up.
Always been fascinated by scrapyards since I was a kid. It's getting a bit weird now though as most of the stuff in yards is newer than anything I've ever owned.
Most cars to many people in todays world are a disposable item. Even if the fault is repairable, people will decide that taking finance out on an expensive new car is better than repairing the old car.
Remember, older viewers, when the scrap yard was a Cortina on top of a Wolsley on top of a Vauxhall? We would sneak in and clamber all over. It's miracle none of us kiddies weren't swashed like a pancake! Excellent visit as always.
" Aye, there's a capri down the back somewhere, go have a look yourself and let us know if you need a hand". I recall crawling under a half.buried Mk1 Capri to loosen the bolts in it's axle. What wouldn't I give for a time machine.
Hi Imstokze, I can't believe what a place you found! Something like that brings you back to the 80s. That is now unthinkable here! The environmental authorities would give you 2-3 weeks to clean it up and there would be a hefty fine or jail time. They would take soil samples. You have to remember that 1 drop of oil contaminates 1000 liters of drinking water! It gives me quite a stomach ache when I see the cars turned on their roofs with engines in them! Catalyst stealing is a common occurrence lately! Especially with older Opel models. They're so bold, you're at work and while you're at work they're dismantling the exhaust with the catalytic converter. And that in the middle of the big city! The video took me back in time like a time capsule! Great video! Greetings Klaus from Düsseldorf
Sad to see what happened to Ian Seabrook's City Rover. The other sad thing is some of these vehicles don't look like accident damage cars but cars that could have been repaired, guessing emissions failures or slight bump insurance write offs.

Definitely worth the 3 hour drive mate great video from the legend himself stu. Keep up the amazing work fella still my favorite You Tuber.
Still it’s in his better interest to weight in all the cars for metal when the price is high but maybe it will cost him too much to move them all as they don’t have wheels on them
@@Alexander_l322 bring in a crane and a crusher. It’s going to be the environmental aspect that will make it difficult, disposing of oil, old fuel etc.
You have said it before. Everyone in the UK has too much money and gets rid of things like Insignias which some are not even 10 years old. In Spain and Greece, West Africa, you see people still driving in cars from late 80s to early 90s
They probably let scrap yards reuse spare parts over there whereas here they do anything to make you buy a new car instead. I can't even get a replacement engine management board for a 2019 Ranger, the only one I found available and ended up buying turned out to be different.
Cracking video again Stu, looked like quite a big location. I was also wondering why nobody had been looking after the site, imagine the sheer amount of value that has been destroyed/stolen whilst the owner isn't around. Keep up the great work brother.
Yea I actually know where this scrapyard is because I used to use it with my uncle, but the guy that ran it was reported to HSE because of dangerous buildings and as you said fork lifts, he only got 12 months in prison, so I am guessing he abandoned the site because of no funds to sort out the health and safety issues
