Thank you for this! I have racked my brain trying to remember the name of the native plant I planted in my early gardening days here in North Texas that returns and thrives so reliably. It's not the biggest showstopper for looks, but it certainly does a wonderful job of bringing life and airiness and contrasting color tone and foliage form in multiple spots in my front garden beds.

Loving mountain mint. Thank you for introducing it to me. I still feel grateful for the one you gave me - it grew and multiplied into a lush, beautiful, blue, potted feast for the eyes. It makes my day when I smell it by brushing by it after getting out o the car. Knowing it's native, I'll take seeds it produces this year into the common area and another garden in the back yard. I would never have known about this wonderful scented, pretty native without you.

What I am sowing here is Pycnanthemum tenuifolium. Pycnanthemum verticillatum var. pilosum may be the Hairy Mountain Mint you mentioned. Their is also Hoary Mountain Mint which is Pycnanthemum incanum.
