How to make a granny square quilt block, full tutorial! Easy beginner quilt pattern.
The granny square block is an easy traditional quilt pattern that's great for beginner quilters. It's highly versatile as you can use any size of squares and number of layers to make various size quilt blocks. The granny square is precut friendly (fat quarter, charm pack, layer cake, jelly roll), perfect for fussy cutting, and also a great scrap buster!
For fabric I used Riley Blake Designs by Tasha Noel Pixie Noel 1, however Pixie Noel 2 released in 2022 is equally as charming!

Yes! You can use cut triangles for the corners. It’s easier for me to make sure my block is squared up using squares, so that’s why I do it that way.😊

@@oliveellequiltco Your response is incorrect. The portion which is cut off is not as large as the portion containing the 1/4” seam allowance.
