  • The last few weeks I'm working on creating a new branch on Eru Electrics for electric heating. Electrorads is one of the products I am looking to promote and install, as they are fantastic!
    In this video I'm installing an Electrorad Aeroflow electric radiator to a student flat in Gillingham.

    I have these heaters. They are meant to have WiFi control via smartphone. How do I set that up? The app is asking for a module

      You will need to buy the WIFi Gateway and connect it with you router. With one you can control all the radiator together.

    I thank you again for the reply, given they have this built in time would they function during the day if the time was set to come on only during the off peak night time periods currently 1230/0730 UK time .

    Hi! I'm thinking on buying this exact model. However I'm not an expert on the product's power consumption. So when it's working 20-25 mins every hour (according to other sites), the consumption is 2450w in that time? Or it's just the heating value and the consumption is lower? Also, what are your experiences with it? Is it worth it, really that good and totally silent? Thanks in advance!

    • @EruElectrics
      @EruElectrics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the consumption is not calculated in Ws or kws but as kWh (kilowatts per hour) this mean that if the heater is on for an hour then it will consume 2450W. I'm not sure from where the 20-25mins is coming from but like with every other source of heating is working until the room reaches the set temperature where then stops working until the temperature drops again.
      Those ones are some of most efficient electric heaters out there right now. They don't have any moving parts, so no noise is coming from them

    Hi does anyone know if this radiator works on economy 7, how does it work once you’ve connected it? Thanks

    • @EruElectrics
      @EruElectrics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually no. They have only one power supply while all modern storage heaters now have two. But I still recommend them against storage heaters as they will always be more efficient.

    What is the size of the Aeroflow radiator? What is the measurement between the two wall brackets

    • @EruElectrics
      @EruElectrics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the one I installed here is the 2.5Kw so that would be 1280mmX610mm. The 2Kw is 980mmX610mm. There is no standard measurement for the brackets, you just fit them in a distance that would hold the weight better. I usually fit them about 300-400mm from each end

    Γιώργο καλησπέρα από την Ελλάδα. Αυτό είναι ηλεκτρικό καλοριφέρ τοίχου αν καταλάβα σωστά;Είναι σαν καλοριφέρ λαδιού; Υπάρχει κάτι αντίστοιχο στην Ελλάδα ξέρεις; Σε ευχαριστώ.

      Yes it is an electric radiator but it's not oiled filled. On the video I explain all the technical detail (I think... there has been some time since I did the video). I'm not sure if they sell them in Greece, last I work as an electrician there is was too long ago and those radiators didn't even exist yet. You can always email the manufacturer and ask them

    Will these charge up overnight on Economy 7 tariff and stay hot through out the day/evening ?

    • @EruElectrics
      @EruElectrics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They don't charge like the storage heaters do. The Aeroflow has a fireclay insert which it stores heat while you are using it, when it reaches its set temperature and switch off, unlike the traditional electric heater, it carries on radiating heat and keeps the place warm for longer, similar to wet radiators.

    • @railwaystationmaster
      @railwaystationmaster 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EruElectrics Thanks for the swift reply , i suppose what i need to know before investing in a couple is , would a 7 hour overnight charge when my electric is cheaper be enough to use them throughout the next day , my outdated existing storage heaters have their own white meter and the power points are only active during the 7 hour this period so i would not be able to add any power outside of the charge period .

    • @EruElectrics
      @EruElectrics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@railwaystationmaster In short no. When we install them as storage heaters replacement tye E7 is disconnected. The fireclay element store heat while you are using it. The big issue with the storage heaters is that they charge at night and then halfway through the day your home is start getting colder and you need to use the boost and spent more money on electricity. The Electrorads also cames with a 7 days timer so you can set it come on before you are off bed and then before you are back from work/shopping/etc to make sure you home it's not cold.
      At the end are more economical because you use them only when needed and your home is always warm.

    An electrical radiator well that well be very cheap and economical to run and use....!?!?

    • @EruElectrics
      @EruElectrics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If we compare it with other electric heaters those are some of the best product you can use, and of the most efficient.

    • @AndyWilliamsUK
      @AndyWilliamsUK 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That all depends on your electrical supply company, the tariff you are on and how you set up and use the heater. Because they have a digital thermostat rather than clicky mechanical one, they switch on/off very precisely. Also have open window detection to shut the heater off if it can't warm the room correctly. They are certainly very solid construction and more controllable than a storage heater.

      @@AndyWilliamsUK Fair point but what i really meant was Gas central heating

    • @AndyWilliamsUK
      @AndyWilliamsUK 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Mike_5 Lol. No worries. Unfortunately I haven't got Gas Central heating. Only electric heating (storage heaters) which I've now removed in favour of more controllability. Monitoring my usage with a Smart Meter and the results so far are very favourable. These aren't like cheap portable type electric heaters people are accustomed to.

      @@AndyWilliamsUKYes can see your point entirely they are definitely a step up from traditional storage heaters
