    Thank you for un-blowing my mind. I’ve been sewing for many years and only recently came across a pattern using this technique. I was totally baffled until I found this video. How did us much older than you folks (I’m 56 years old) cope without TH-cam and for that matter all modern technology? I couldn’t survive without it now.

    Ooo, this is genius! I haven't actually tried this before, but there's a yoke on the next thing I want to make, so I'll give it a go. Thanks!! Lynne

    Such a useful technique - I'll try it on a jersey tunic planned for the autumn. I find myself planning projects that incorporate each technique you demonstrate. Thank you so much!

    I love this technique for the name alone but I’ll definitely use it when I have a pattern with a yoke because you’ve definitely passed on your love of nice clean seams.

    Hi, just love this particular fabric. Does anyone know if it is still available and what it is and where I can purchase it please?

    I love the fact you are doing these wonderful snippets on" How To" they are so incredibly helpful! Thank you. I am making a shirt dress right now for Halloween and I was having some trouble. I was wondering why do we need to line a yoke? Is there a reason? It seems like an extra unneeded step to me and I was going to blow it off completely until I saw your video. LOL Shame on me for not following the instructions...Thank you for all of your hard work and help! It is much appreciated!! =;-) P.S Have an absolutely amazing Holiday!!

    Hi Sian. Is it possible to enclose sleeve seams as well using this method? I can’t quite visualise how you could do this or whether you would just be better fully lining a blouse with seams?

    • @KittenishBehaviourSian
      @KittenishBehaviourSian  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a tutorial showing how to French seam sleeves in which is my preferred method if the fabric is light enough (which for a blouse it probably will be)

    I tried to post a comment/query yesterday but stuffed it up - please forgive me if the same query shows up twice.
    If you imagine a nightie with both front and back double layer yokes that join at the shoulder seams (rather than a single yoke that both the left-and-right fronts and a single back are joined to) and a gathered "skirt" section at both the front and back joined at the side seams - is there a way to "truly" enclose both the shoulder seams of the yoke and the seams where the front and back skirts join to their respective front and back yokes? I'd like something better than the usual method where you sew each to their outer yokes and fold up a seam on the inner yokes that you then top-stitch or slip-stitch in place. This does enclose the skirt-to-yoke seams - but it's not the same as the "true" clean finish you get for enclosing the seam like you do for the back of the shirt to the double-layer yoke across the back.
    I don't need the neckline enclosed (but it would grand if it could be too!) and as it is going to have long sleeves attached they don't need to be enclosed at all.
    I think there must be a way but I can't quite get my head around it. Any pointers from anyone to videos or online tutorials showing how this is done would be much appreciated - thank you... Megan :-)

      I know what you mean. I think if you sewed the front (or back yoke) together to enclose the seams of the bodice piece between it the baste the shoulder seams together within the seam allowance you could then use the burrito method to finish the garment and have clean finishes on both the yokes. I think that would work and hope that makes sense 😊

      @@KittenishBehaviourSian Thank you so much - that was quick! I'll give it a try and I'm sure if I just do what you say it will make sense to me as I go along even if I don't quite get it 100% just on first reading it. I'll try it on something "dolly size" to start with and have a play. :-)
