- F1 25 is on my mind, and after coming across recent Codemasters/EA Job postings, it seems the words 'Live Service' will be very familiar soon...

To be honest F1 manager is consistently going better and I believe in later it’s going to be an incredible game like they are always adding modes and features and making the game worth. It’s 20 cheaper pounds than the actual game

I think they should make the f1 25 a dlc, like in the wrc game. Besides, by keeping updating the game it should get better, and launch a very good game in 2026.

The series was already on life support for a long time, but it completely died the moment the guy who made the Toolbox mod gave up, the game in its current state just simply not worth playing, even if it's free.

The sad thing is i think F1 24 could be a really solid F1 game were it not such an excruciating pain in the arse to drive.

I love how F1 manager, a game with a fraction of the budget, is simply a more fun game to play than the "official" F1 game. No micro transaction live service junk. It is just a fun game.
Not to mention infinitely better customization options.. F1 Manager actually respects their player base
It's sad because the wrc game they made is fantastic after the first few patches and they are just adding the new cars and stages in a dlc instead of selling a yearly release. Literally all of the best decisions you could have made they did for that game yet they are completely incompetent for the f1 side 😢

F1 games is also a way of people wanting to buy cars of said brands in the game so I don't think teams will not be happy with the way ea are doing things.

I think if they simply "skinned" F1 with NO changes whatsoever, it'd be better than F1 24. And that's worrying.

If it is a live service disaster, then make a stance and DON'T PLAY THE GAME, don't promote it and move on. Any videos you make pretending like it's nothing is what they want
This is what you get when companies are driven by greed of investors, who don't care about anything but the bottom line and haven't ever even touched a video game. That's why the best studios like Larian for instance aren't publicly traded, because they refuse to be driven by people who don't understand or care about anything but their profits.
If getting live service in the game already sounds bad enough, its a worry their only looking for the job now. I would have expected it to be halfway through development and have already trained staff especially for the new services or features. But this is an EA game were talking about :)
Wow. They are calling bug fix 1 "season 2" and bug fix 2 "season 3"? Here is a crazy idea. Release a working game. EA is trash.
What slowly made NFL and NHL games worse each year was the fact EA won the exclusive contract. No competition means worse games each year as we have no other options. It's also happening with MLB the Show and NBA 2k. If F1 and other leagues actually care about their fans, they'll stop doing these exclusive deal, especially with EA who tend to ruin everything they touch.

People said in the past a lot that they should bring out older tracks as paid DLC, if they wanted revenue they could literally do that, as it satisfies their goal of revenue and satsifies us as players

As someone who is fan of the wwe 2k series, wwe 2k20 was shocking so they took a 2 year break to make 2k22 a much better game. I think that’s what the f1 games should do, maybe a patch to update the teams and cars for f1 25 and a much better game in f1 26

Ironically, F1 2020 is the last F1 game I brought and still play today.
Was debating about getting 2024 or waiting for 2025. I may just pass all together now.
F1 games:probably going downhill
Indycar:has not had a game since 2004 ish who knows if the indycar game by motorsports games will ever get finished somehow
NASCAR:game currently being made by iracing will come out next year

F1 24 is a good game but the live service with the whole FOMO aspect ruined it. I feel so burnt out just trying to complete the season pass. I don’t think I’ll ever buy another F1 game. I legit don’t have fun with EA F1 games anymore.
Bro making up stories when playing sports games is like the whole point! There’s nothing better than the story lines in career mode and really immersing yourself almost like it’s a RPG.
You ain't weird at all (or if you are, we're weird together). Immersing yourself in a world where you compete amongst your favorite athletes & changin the course of history was the best part of sports games growin up

Despite Take-Twos issues, can't help but wish they had the higher bid for Codemasters.
If F1 25 bombs, you really ought to just start doing more of different racing games. No reason to keep working with a dog of a game, when there's a ton of different ones to try. Hell, going back to older games could be fun, get those modded - or better yet, alternate historical season, put your own team in like, the 80s or 90s. That'd be super fun to watch.
Does anybody else remember that period from 2018-2021 where the F1 game was bulletproof and was league above whatever junk EA put out that year?
Codies and EA is a marriage in heaven. Two money-grabbing companies working together to milk as much their customers whilst delivering unfinished products with previous features removed (only to bring them back as new in the future, feckin Codies been doing this since 2012)
Could've called this the minute EA took over Codemasters, only shocked it didn't happen sooner if it does.

I’m very much a light F1 game fan, buy the game every other year or so but I’m a big football fan and played FIFA for years. As soon as EA took over Codemasters, I knew the series was in trouble. Horrible to see this. I’m just waiting until EA bring in an ‘Ultimate Team’ function into the series, hate to say it but it will happen…

I had just gotten into F1 around the late 2019 season, and when I heard about the EA aquisition I remembered what they had done to madden and my heart sank because I knew that eventually they would ruin this brand new toy I had come to love.
Bring back last years game model. (AI, Handling etc...), give us more than 10 seasons of career (eneable retire option for you to end the career), add F3 and give us option to do multiple championships in juniors (for example you can do 1 in F3 and 2 in F2, which means Junior programs etc will really much more meaning since you can jump in if driver in main f1 team leaves and it open spot)
For me I wouldn’t mind if create a team went away from the racing games, that just makes more sense in the manager setting. What I want the racing game to put more resources in is just more tracks and track layouts.

This means they are keeping and extending the license. They need to do what they are doing with WRC game, standalone game.
F1 Manager>F1 24. It's broken and not that entertaining anymore in comparison to F1 Manager. I'm shocked my opinion evolved like that. It was truly that bad.
Ea absolutely drains the life from the franchises they have. Like the f1 series the madden football series and the nhl series are all going down hill so fast because ea has there hands in it

EA are utter trash. The live sessions are even worse I loved the race week where you would compete against everyone but never been in F124. Honestly cannot be arsed with EA
I gave up on codemasters and EA ages ago. Stopped playing once they fixed the handling and I’m never playing another EA/codemasters f1 game again
just wonder how f1 26 will turn out with the new regs. For me i just feel like we in a day of where updates are a thing and games companies just realease and hope updates fix things. remember a time waiting for f1 2012,13 to come out as they were released late in the year but was a very good product and not get bored. nowadays just dont have the same feeling to play
Yeap, same with Battlefield and F1 right. At this point its just greedy corporates trying to see 5% higher ROI while polarizing a big part of the user base 🤷🏻♂️
I can tell you right now the only reason people play the live service stuff is because there’s my team liveries attached to it.
They should be making my team and driver career modes much much better instead of this crap.

I think the gaming industry as we know it is actually in a death spiral.
I know I’m crazy but look at ridiculous pricing of games and ridiculous number of “editions” of the same game they put out.
When games are first released they’re always bug ridden slops.
Always obsessed about live/online/ultimate team/multiplayer services and leaving other modes to rot.
EA along with Ubisoft and Warner Bros. games division have been a fine example of an industry that has completely lost the plot.
I wish nothing but the terminal end and bankruptcy of “triple A” studios and publishers who have brought our hobby into disrepute.

The only way an F1 liver service works is nothing changes game wise and each year there is the new season DLC. Same game improved upon over time but new season yearly matching irl. If it’s not codies deserve to lose the license

I don't evan have a problem with Codies as they're one of my favorite company's. Its just that EA came in with The *Moolah* and ruined them the second they got there hands on the F1 game

Live service can work, with a mix of offline services, but I have no faith in EA…
The Crew 2 did it quite well, but then again The Crew 1 not so much.
Recent flop has been Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.
Like, it can work but it has to be really well executed. But, I haven’t been able to access the pre order early access the last two years (this year I haven’t even bought the game this year)

Games as a service is a terrible idea. If it is anything like some of the others then it will require players to be constantly online which has proven to cause issues. The game needs to stay offline.
I hope things get better. I think the handling is good personally. They need to fix a lot of things though.
The handling isn't as bad as F1 22. But it's not great like F1 23. Still decent enough though.
We have a new company called shed gaming Ltd and they do a better job than EA and codemasters, especially with F1 24
