It's time for the July 2024 LEGO city update and there's lots to show you in this video! I've started work on the beach, including adding a third level to the city for a boardwalk/promenade area and my search for a British seaside chip shop! The area for the amusement park has been cleared, and I've started adding the second train line to the upper level. Let me know what you think of the upcoming plans in the comment section!

If you want a British looking beach, a Pier should be number one priority. Then you can incorporate the arcade, fish and chips and ice cream shops into it.
Kevin, you could repurpose the London underground station as a Wetherspoons pub. After all, it's the kind of thing Wetherspoons do in real life.
Now there’s an idea…
If you are going to have cliffs, you could take the lighthouse off the blue base and have it up on the cliffs. It's a bit more British as well.
The support wall at the beach could be arches where the vendors have a shop

Extending the city into the book case with stairs is a great idea.
For the theme park you could use any duplicated minifigs as alternated cast members / understudies either rehearsing or getting into costume by adding some regular minifig heads on whilst you’ve got the other ones as them in character
Since you’ll have the other Seseme Street minifigs plus Marvel reuses from either the CMFs or sets a fig has appeared a few times

The Creator 3-in-1 set 31063 Beachside Vacation has a nice B model that I use as a fish and chip shop in my Lego town. I think it might be supposed to be a fishing store, but the sign looks like a battered fish to me and I modded mine with a deep fryer inside to complete the look.
I would set your arcade into the space under the raised platform - loads of space there and you can make the fronts of the buildings detachable so you can see inside - it’s going to save you loads of space in the beach area. Looking good 👍 - forgot to mention, setting the arcade under the raised platform will be a great excuse to integrate lights!
You could cut little squares on the shelves and stairs going to each level or even try make an escalator
There is a rebrickable of the Hogsmeade village set that you could use as a base for a pub! I’ve done it looks great but I’ve kept the snow effects which you wouldn’t want
A stone/rock wall between the beach and the road could be quite cool!

A small cliffside rather than a wall would be cool behind the promenade, a simple grass to rock to grass again layering would be cool.

Convert the green into a rooftop garden, put some small fences or something around it
I reckon a seaside wall between the road and the water would be good and not too complicated as they are usually pretty flat.
I'd love for you to add a theme park entrance gate just in front of the marvel modulars
Don't forget donkey rides on the beach area.
FYI From your description British seaside areas are similar to the mid-Atlantic seaside towns of the US. Not all have a fish and chip shop. I know at least one does, though.
Kevin, what about a bridge from the board walk to the top of the Sesame Street building, turn the top into a Garden-Roof top with an elevator going down to the ground floor? Love the layout so far, and the idea about the theme park 👍
Not sure I’m brave enough to attempt an elevator! I’ll have a think!

You can buy the Jaws set for the beach/sea area. To spice it up a little bit 😆
Skyguy365 has a very nice moc for the Chinese restaurant (MOC-171218). But you also need the Noodle Shop and loads of extra parts to make it.
Anna will be claiming the Jaws set for her room because she loves sharks
You could create railway arch style shops / restaurants in the retaining wall at the back of the boardwalk. They’d have to be custom builds though, maybe an idea for the fish and chip shop.

Mrbookieboo done some tutorials on the retaining walls and also false mountain and buildings for back drops like I was on about also. Hope this helps. And good luck with the coming months. Hope u get a chance to check out my city to.

All your ideas are great, but my autistic brain works in pictures, and it is showing me a cluttered future lego city 😂. You need a bigger lego room 😊. My tip would be to move the avengers tower or daily bugle apart and put lower buildings in between to make it look more spacious. Great job so far 👍🏼

Yeah, it’s difficult to include much in the videos, but we have the streams that a fully building
@@blockpartyukjust seen a video on elevated cites using mils style cubes could be useful to support the base plates

Kevin you could use like a skyline wallpaper for the back walls instead of them being white. And I would have the new tram set running back and from the beach / fun fair
But that track isn’t set into the road like trams are!
Kevin, no it may interfere with your fan.. but I would move lighthouse to the front right hand corner on the blue sea plate at the front.
I’d knock it off the table every time I went in the room. I had it there for a day and it was a disaster!
City is really coming along nicely you can see how much build work thats been done between updates. 1 thing i have always wondered tho is, has it not been possible just to focus on 1 section at a time?
The problem is waiting for parts. Pick a brick orders take anywhere from 2-6 weeks to arrive, so while I’m waiting for parts for one section I move on to another one
I would lose the light house and have my pier and rock wall along that side and model it on like Llandudno pier in wales then u could put your arcade on the pier and then fish and chip shop,bar and donut seller on promenade
But I love the lighthouse! Although I guess it could just go onto a shelf
It’s a lovely set but not realy a common sight on British coast of that’s look going for and could do the motor boat tours on the sea and could even do a sky ride from top of rocks like the great Orem has displaying more figures
I'm opinion and it doesn't really count...I'd get rid of that daily bugal and the other tall thing...I think they are such a bore and never fit in a city...I'd lose the beach also
