Sounds like he's hanging on....that voice is nowhere what it used to be...candlebox, on the other hand, is killing it in terms of defying age. Check it out. I saw em a couple years ago at the local summer fest.
Cracks me up....this 68 year old is taken back too! Although I go back further, we were still young enough to love and dance to this. Gin Blossoms were one of my favorites of this decade!
New Miserable Experience was more important to me than Nirvana Never Mind . Through getting through High School , 6 years as an 0311 Marine , til today in my late 40s .. carry it with me . Bravo and thank you GBs ..
@ They had the re issue come out few years back for the anniversary. Bonus tracks like Back Of A Car and Soul Deep , there is an alternative version of Pieces , stuff is still just phenomenal. Hold Me Down ..
@@nunya7774 1.) he did NOT write the "whole record." out of the 12 tracks, he wrote 4 and co-wrote 2. 2.) they dedicated the second album to him. 3.) they kicked him out because he was so drunk he couldn't even stand up straight in the studio, let alone record his guitar parts. what would you have done? let your potential career die before it even began? please indulge us on how righteous you are.
These guys still CRUSH it - saw them on the 25th anniversary tour and Robin still singing the songs in their original keys is so impressive and comforting. I applaud this band for staying their course and staying true to themselves - awesome they are still out there for the fans to enjoy and with this kind of quality.
One of my favorite songs. I'm so thankful I got to see them at Long Wongs in Tempe, Arizona before they were big. So many great memories and they are still AMAZING. God bless Him Blossoms ❤️
In college in the 90s I interviewed the bass player over the phone before a festival they were going to be playing. He asked who else was on the bill and I told him Tears for Fears was but only one of the two main guys was still in the band. He asked me “Hall or Oates?” and it took me a second to figure out which guy was still there. I remember we had a good laugh.
I saw these guys almost 25 years ago. They opened up for Blues Traveler, who I was really excited to see. I liked Gin Blossoms but could take or leave seeing them in concert. Well, Gin Blossoms stole the show that night and kicked the crap out of what Blues Traveler did that evening. An absolutely awesome performance and I still haven't forgotten it!
Hello...I've seen the GB's maybe 50 times and still love you guys...spent twenty minutes talking to you Robin in Virginia Beach a few years ago...I live in Chesapeake, VA but went all the way to Red Rocks in Colorado to see you with Toad and Bare Naked Ladies...that place was a bucket list venue and the show was amazing...thank you!!! Thank you for still hanging in there and being out there for us!!!!!
God damm I just came from the Collective Soul video drinking a shot of Tequila and now this,is the world returning to be the world I wanted in the music scene? I still remember that picture in their first album with a 91X sticker (my favorite radio station for life)in one of their speakers, Saludos a mis amigos de Gin Blowssoms, excelentes recuerdos cada vez que se presentan o se presentaban en San Diego y yo desde Tijuana cruzaba la frontera para disfrutar de su gran música.
I respect this, but famous musician perhaps not the profession for you. "They never play XYZ! :((( " "ABC was their best record, why don't they ever play it..."
These guys still sound great! I remember moving to AZ in 1996 and all the talk was Gin Blossoms, Dead Hot workshop and a band called Satellite. Not really my style of music but I can appreciate their talent.
New Miserable Experience was one of the best albums of the 90's. Hey Jealousy, Ms Rita, until i fall away are still some of my favorite songs. And now, 30 years later, Gin Blossoms are incredible. Robin's voice sounds exactly the same. Love it!!
Great song! I saw the singer (Robin Wilson) on tour with The Smithereens last year (opening for Mr. Big in Nashville), and he did a great job with them too!
His voice sounds amazing after all these years.
Came here for this
That was my first thought as well.
It does
Sounds like he's hanging on....that voice is nowhere what it used to be...candlebox, on the other hand, is killing it in terms of defying age. Check it out. I saw em a couple years ago at the local summer fest.
@@stuartdyer5694go listen to the album version again and tell me it’s not extremely similar. :)
Damn not my 45 year old self crying because the nostalgia hit so hard. I really hate getting old but I sure am glad I lived when I lived
My 45y old ass is on the verge of tears too. They sound awsome. Completely takes me back ❤😂😊
44 right here and I’m still headbanging to this!
Cracks me up....this 68 year old is taken back too! Although I go back further, we were still young enough to love and dance to this. Gin Blossoms were one of my favorites of this decade!
Please God, let people start making music like this again 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Whoever did the mixing definitely knows what they’re doing
and hates guitarists...........
It's beautifully recorded for sure
the mixing is really good.... especially the drums... almost to perfection... but the guitars are missing just a little
As some one who runs sound I can say you obviously don’t know what a good mix sounds like cause this isn’t it.
Probably a bass player. The bass sounds great in my headphones
They're sounding great. Drummer is really driving this song.
If you don't hear the drums it is not music.
And also appears to be Benedict Cumberbatch.
The drummer rocks.
The drummer rocks!!!
They sound better than ever. It’s hard to believe that it’s been over 35 years now since the debut album.
I agree the very first time stumbled across this album going through a music store very first time it came out I said hell yeah
Ya we were young once. Fun band. I dug them. Gonna see them live on Saturday.
And the guy who wrote this has long since died
@ he died before they had their first hit i think
@danfrost2076 I do believe they're going to sound wonderful
Enjoy hold on to those memories
Drummer kicking ass
A hard hitting energetic drummer is everything…
Man they still sound incredible all these years later.
The most 90's band of the 90's. awesome isn't a strong enough word
New Miserable Experience was more important to me than Nirvana Never Mind . Through getting through High School , 6 years as an 0311 Marine , til today in my late 40s .. carry it with me . Bravo and thank you GBs ..
This was an album that I both loved and dreaded listening to, because of the emotions it stirred up
@ They had the re issue come out few years back for the anniversary. Bonus tracks like Back Of A Car and Soul Deep , there is an alternative version of Pieces , stuff is still just phenomenal. Hold Me Down ..
It was everything!! ❤
Still sounding great 30 years later. RIP. Doug, you are gone but not forgotten
Imagine going to the park and you see a band playing and go, man these guys sound like the Gin Blossoms. LOL! They sound great!
Behold the mighty Gin Blossoms!! I'm 52 and I have tix to see these fine fellas in March! It'll be one banger of a night!! Cheers!! 🎸
Gold old memories of 90s
The drumming sounds amazing 👏👌👍
He’s got the best chops in the band.
It's like an old would has opened back up in my heart...in a good way. ;)
Rip Doug Hopkins ! Never forgot who wrote their greatest hit ! Really hope they make a movie to commemorate Doug and the gin blossoms
shame he loved the bottle so much.
@ I’m a recovering Alcoholic myself .. it’s a hard uphill battle.. but it does get easier when you stay away and remain sober
I think there was going to be but I don’t think anymore…
Bums me out that they never acknowledge Doug. He wrote that whole record then kicked to the curb.

Proof that if you take care of yourself age alone will not impact vocal performance. They sound absolutely amazing. Bravo!!!
The drums! Damn man!

Sounds and looks incredible!
Would love to see a whole concert with this setup.
Thanks for reminding me of how old I am.
The bass part to this song is sooo fun to play
This drummer is absolutely killing it!
OMG!!!...they are fantastic!!!... Gin Blossoms 🙏Thank You for Being a Part of The Soundtrack to My Life!!!!....✌❤
That was FANTASTIC. One of the best songs of the 90s

Yes! C'mon! bring back the 90s!!!!
10000000% Yes!
NO THANK YOU! Worst period of music starting in 92-93 onward.
Takes me back! Seen them several times at Fremont Street in Vegas, they play almost every year for free. Awesome.
The pride and joy of Tempe AZ!
So refreshing to see and hear this. I'm tearing up this feels so good.
LONG LIVE GIN BLOSSOMS!
They sound better now than when I saw them in 1994. Awesome job!
I miss the 90'S lots of concerts and great music.
Gin Blossoms fan since 95'
This song has not aged a day! Still a banger!
This song is still as good as now it was 1st released❤
perfect audio mix

Love these guys. And love how they are getting older and how they seem to enjoy playing just for the pure joy of playing.
Facts. I’ve never seen that lead singer without a tambourine in his hand.
Can't believe it was 30 years ago, and still sounded good.
Takes me right back to high school 😢 God I miss those days!
Ohhh the beautiful 90s!!!!!
Isnt it great how every song takes you rite back to a special place and time in.youre life

Love the music from this era
Wow. They still sound great!
They still got it 👍👍🍻
Rock those Fenders!🎸
I don't know if I could handle singing the same song millions of times
You could if it made you rich like it did for them. I've heard this song in a ton of shows and movies. Guess who gets paid off that? 👀🤔🤷🏽😂
@lumbrados believe it or not, for some people, money is not the most important thing
I respect this, but famous musician perhaps not the profession for you. "They never play XYZ! :((( " "ABC was their best record, why don't they ever play it..."
I can’t stop listening to this, it’s so good.
This song was a huge Hit in Montreal 94 , "till I hear it from you" was also massive
These guys still sound great! I remember moving to AZ in 1996 and all the talk was Gin Blossoms, Dead Hot workshop and a band called Satellite. Not really my style of music but I can appreciate their talent.
Yeah. Heading down to Zia records to buy their album.
Just introduced my 14 year old to Gin Blossoms. RnR 4eva 🤘

Wow! Sounds unbelievable
I was a total metal/punk/grunge fan in the 80s and 90s, but this is one pop band I loved!
After all these years they still sound great..
Amazing nothing changes. . The voice
Guitars sound amazing.
This band is great brings me back. Everyone is saying the drumming is killing it to which he is but the whole band and singer are on point.
Nothin more rock and roll than a tele through a fender tube amp ❤

Brings high school memories when me and my girlfriend would just drive around Chicago and we would play the CD and sing in my car.

The best Band
They should have played the Catalina whine mixer
Saw them in 2010 on a USO tour in Iraq. Two days later got to see Avenged Sevenfold in Iraq as well. Both shows were awesome.
These guys are great! Such a unique sound ✨
Ahhh the 90s!!!
