Adding my go to way of making tofu without using a press: I cut into strips, i get 12 from a 400g block of tofu. I get about 50g of flour and add in some sesame seeds, salt, pepper, chinese 5 spice, garlic powder all to taste. Coat the strips in the flour mixture and put straight onto a greased oven tray - the retained water will make the flour seasoning stick and draw out the moisture to make a thick batter Bake how you like, high temps and a short bake will get them crispy while keeping them soft inside, longer bakes on lower temps will dry them out more. Love having these with some fried rice / noodles or in sandwiches with some humus and hot sauce!
Loved the baked tofu idea, Leif. I made it last night with the same lemon and pepper McCormick spice blend and it was fantastic. I splashed some fresh lemon juice on top for the last 2 minutes of baking. So simple and easy to make. Thanks! :)

The butterfly method is my favorite! I hope you love it too! 🤩 Here are the amounts used in the video: 1 16 oz package of silken tofu, 4 cups frozen fruit, 2 fresh bananas, and 1/2 cup of water blended! 😁
not keen baking on aluminium foil, given that at high temperatures the food becomes tainted by the foil. Not good. I use baking paper, or a silicone mat instead

Ooh, that teriyaki tofu jerky sounds yummy! And not mushy (I hate even slightly mushy tofu).

How do you press Tofu?
There are tofu pressers available, but the simple way is to wrap it in a towel, put it between two plates, and put a heavy object on top! 🙂
This title should have been how to cook/how to use tofu. I nearly scrolled by thinking we were going to start with soy beans and create tofu:-) x
