Yeah, I remember that stage when my son was little. Some words you understand, others they've made up their own words and you have to figure out what the heck they are trying to say. I even remember when my son was 2/3 he used his fingers to signify what park he wanted to go. 1 finger for a certain park, 2 fingers for another type of park. It's wild! I love that stage though. Their minds are sponges and it's awesome to see what they can do.
I did come up with State of the Stash all on my own! I just knew I needed to be accountable to more than myself to slow down my yarn buying. This way I have to tell someone about it rather than just stashing it away.
I try to keep a very mindful view on yarn acquirement, mostly because I don't want my family to have to deal with it if something happened. It doesn't always work for me though. I love the state of the stash idea, but I think it would be too much of a lift (I would need to bother a family member) to get a count of my yarn.. So maybe I could just keep track of what I use vs what I purchase. If he's expressing himself, he's doing great ❤. Words are not the only way people communicate and my son was not very clear for quite awhile. I think whenever someone mentions toddlers and talking, I try to relate by offering my experience even if it doesn't fit. I didn't mean he needed therapy, just kind of like, "This is what happened to me" 😅. Kids are incredible and grow so fast. I have made this recommendation to everyone who has a toddler in their life - If you haven't been introduced to Super Simple Songs - I would check them out. BOTH my kids loved those songs for years, especially at his age 🙂 I miss it!

We realized the other day that he understands a lot more than we thought. He'll actually do things now when you ask him.
I’m going to steal state of the stash idea for 2025! 😂
Just say Shauna at Shauna Stitches made you do it! 😂It actually does help keep you accountable!

It has helped me be more accountable for sure!

Oh, I'm going to have to check that out. Atti loves his music! I think you could keep track of yarn in and out without documenting all of your stash.
