@user-dw4dq1if1m no, he actually spoke about this in a chessbase india interview. He said it's because there's more competition now so he doesn't get as much work. His style is also for slightly higher level players not for the new fans chess has gained recently.
I think he is easily one of the top 5 commentators. It is partially higher level but I love when they have two broadcasts. One for general and one for higher level analysid
Svidler, Judit, Leko and maybe Caruana would be my S-tier, with Naroditsky, Anish, Hess, Aman and Eric Hansen in A-tier. Please not Tania, Levy, Jen Shahade or Danny Rensch in 'dad joke' mode though! 🤨
Once a Hungarian GM (Gabor Kallai, Hungary) answered to my question „What is the Russian Chess School?“ he answered simply: „A lot of very good Chess players“.
People has misunderstanding that in chess form can be regained as there is no injury like any other sport physically played but mindset your shape plays great role .it becomes very difficult to regain peak .all time .once you passed the phase .it kimd of difficult also player like ding is not getting younger already passed 30 added to sickness won't be easy. I dont see as World championship match per se bothare not top 2 player hope ding Atlest put some figgt even in 2022 candidate he was defensively good he managed to finish second . definitely should not be level of Olympiad where he missed easy win against nodirbek and liem. I dont know except miracles regaining in two months possible . Atlest he should try to be positive see what he can do . should not make blunder like he did last wc against nepo had been some other wouldn't have got chance.
peter should commentate the match, i have seen him explaining the meaning of word headcannon and then quickly switching to high-level analysis. can someone be better qualified?
gukesh is highly overrated. a couple of months of solid 2700+ play and everyone has lost their mind. ridiculous how nowadays people can get hyped up within a few months while others 20 yrs ago worked hard over years. I dont even wanna compare him to magnus at this point. he's just a kid who happens to enjoy chess currently and has a good form. thats all. could be arjun as well or nodirbek or fabi. no difference. there is no favourites amongs these level players when they face each other.
Solid 2700+ play seems like an understatement considering he was playing at a 2800+ level during the period and played one of the best tournaments of all time at the Olympiad.
I don't know why people say peak Ding "was a threat to Magnus". Neither by tournament showings, nor by ratings was he that close. Yes closer than other players, but Magnus was still pretty far ahead. Ding's strength was more comparable to Caruana. Also, people saying that peak Ding would be a significant favorite against current Gukesh also sounds laughable to me. His tournament showings at the time are literally comparable to Gukesh's own showings these past 1-2 yrs as a teenager. Joint leads in super tournaments (like Norway & Sinquefield for Ding and Wijk & GCT Romania for Gukesh) are features of both their tournament showings. So at best you could say it would be an even match in classical and Ding would be favorite if he drags it to the tiebreaks. People are over-estimating prime Ding and are underestimating the Indian kids. So to me it is clear, this World Championship is about two things: whether Gukesh can keep his nerves and whether Ding can go beyond his peak form to hold Gukesh.
Clearly, you know nothing about chess. You're just yet another Indian who'd go to any extent and speak ill of another player to support your country men
I agree that peak Ding's strength in classical was comparable to peak Caruana's, but don't forget that Fabi held Magnus to a stalemate for the whole of the classical portion of their match and only went down in the rapid tiebreak. Ding has scored a win over Magnus in a tiebreak. I also think that Ding's style and personality is built for the match format, as opposed to winning lots of tournaments. From 2017-18 he went undefeated in 100 consecutive classical games. He's also demonstrated in his world championship match against Nepo that even when he's badly out of form, the pressure is at maximum and the stakes are at their highest he has nerves of titanium. Yes, if Ding could regain his best form he would be a legitimate threat to Magnus. Currently Gukesh is incredibly impressive but I think he'd hit a wall against peak Ding in a classical match; I think there'd be lots of hard-fought draws before Ding's tenacity and consistency finally prevailed. I think you are underestimating peak Ding and overestimating the Indian kids. Of course, we probably haven't yet seen the best of the Indian kids. Gukesh is still only 18! We can only guess at his full potential. He's currently on fire and playing the best chess of his life. He could stall like Alireza or go on to be Magnus' successor.
That's not true entirely .carlsen is less calculation player .as classical requires more energy to calculate carlsen is quite bored . But gukesh is young so he has performed better than carlsen in classical chess .
Always good to see svidler. Its a pity they don't have him commentate more often.
Indeed. Maybe he semi-retire?

@@CB27255 totally agreed. I used to love watching those laid back svidler, jan,Anish, magnus, grishchuk,Lawrence commentary on chess 24
Could we PLEASE have Jan Gustafsson and Peter doing commentary!
Somebody give us the pair of Svidler & Leko on a commentary table pls.
Not Leko. Svidler & Judit.
@@adilahmed3955 totally agree. Peter and anyone really (Jan gusti,Yasser,Leko,Lawrence,Tania, etc)

Gukesh has not peaked yet
Close to peak what makes u think.
Theres no way to be sure but Currently he is at his peak yes.
Vishy is undoubtedly the greatest inspiration for kids but the work that Sagar Shah is doing to evoke chess interest is massive
I miss Svidler‘s commentary

Ding might rise to the occasion. We might still see peak Ding.
Idk about peak ding but we might see leak ding when he faces gukesh. Bro will have to take a leak every 2 mins
If it that easy peaking or robot anybody will do it .not easy in sport .
ding will lose badly

2 games into the match now, and it's looking like it's going to be a real fight! 😎
Peak Ding is just too much for anyone not named Magnus.
Nakamura would destroy peak Ding
@@Phurngirathaana are you fr ?
Peak Fabi could take him. Nonetheless, peak Ding was a beast and beat Magnus in the Sinquefield Cup once.
Peak Ding vs peak Fabi would be a coin toss. I don't really see Nakamura in the discussion if we're talking about a world championship format match.
I actually believe Ding is likely to win this. However, Gukesh will be incredibly strong after the match, because he will learn a lot from it.
Although Indian but want to see full force ding . If Gukesh takes strongest ding down, it'd be more special

I read it on the internet that Ding had a break up at the same time when covid happened. Is that the reason of his bad form after pandemic?
Who is the interviewer? Is he a chessplayer as well?
Why so many cuts?
Can anyone please tell me when is tournament begin in Singaporean time?
Around 5 PM. It starts at 2:30 PM IST and Singapore it 2.5 hours ahead of IST.
Ding actually did not play very well against Nepo too
Nice, svidler says peak ding vs peak gukesh and video title guy hears big ding vs big gukesh
At 2:38 for anyone wondering
