Such an excellent overview! We love that you recognize our "families" of discs with similar flight numbers but different speeds, we focus on that to make it easier to up your disc golf game without having to overthink your disc selection!
I filmed a video a couple days ago (Tuesday) and it was only 40 degrees, but it took me 15 minutes to set up my cameras, tripod, and microphone, to where I couldn't feel my hands by the time I started recording the intro. So that really affected my throws. Who knew I would need a hand warmer in Texas?! By the time I completed hole 3 my mic receiver locked up, I couldn't reset it, so I had to stop the round. 😂
This was well below my "I'm not playing disc golf" temperature haha. I had more layers than a Pillsbury Grand, so it really wasn't too bad after I got out of the wind. Hand warmer came in clutch for sure
Soooo it's the little brother to the Lariat and the big brother to the Ranger. I unfortunately missed my opportunity to grab one of these but I'm excited to grab one! TBF, I typed this comment out before watching more than the first couple holes 😂 just looks like I repeated what you said now
Lost my newer Proton Crave and started to put more time into my Alpha Frio. Liking it more and more. Does compliment my Alpha Ranger with a little dome. Trying to figure out my flat top Delta2 Ranger. Hoping that one beats in to flippy over time. Hope you do a Breckenridge Course video when it opens in a couple of weeks. Very well maintained Richardson Park. I think you'll like hole #5, it took my Purple Star Valkryie in that small creek. 🤣
im from gun barrel city tx not to far from that course definetly got to make it that way and play that course i just swapped my discs all for the lone star brand and the frio is definetly in my bag ggod luck man thanks for the review and info
Saint Pro is also like that! Don't be fooled by the 8 4 0 2, it's really 8 5 -1 1 and has that same quality where you can throw it 80% and get the flight of a longer midrange, or power up and get a very mild hyzer flip flight.
I put hyzer on everything so I love all ⌢2 1 disc. Insanity meteor relay sidewinder DX thunderbird stock Luna. These all standup and turn a little for me that I bag. 3yearold proton Pyro and a pig just on 4 hand flip up and turn
You've definitely gotta whack a Pyro around a bit before it gets that turn haha, but it's really nice to have the same disc in the bag for multiple years 👌
Looking out my window in Fort Worth, there's no way this was filmed today lol It looks like it turns less than my Mockingbirds. I might have to pick me up some of these
Thanks! I found it to be noticeably more stable- my impression of the Guadalupe (an earlier vid on the channel) was that it was a good turnover or roller disc, whereas the Frio is stable enough to handle more power
well that's interesting... that might warrant a video if that's a consistent thing. Because for the longest time I thought the Lariat was way too flippy (the other one I've thrown was Bravo and was more like 9, 5, -3, 1)
Such an excellent overview!

Appreciate it! Y'all did a great job with this one 👊

@@ArmoryDiscGolf I now know to get a hard warmer! 😂
You do a really good job helping to see the best parts of these discs that you review. Thanks for another great one, Nick!
appreciate the continued support 👊
Let's hear it for Nick's long-range mic! 😁 Love all the various lines you were able to get this on in the video. Keep em coming!
yessir, thanks!
The Texas Ranger and Lariat are my favorite 2 LSD right now. I’m excited for the Frío! Thanks for this awesome video.
Oh boy, you're in for a treat if you like those haha

great minds think alike 😏
crazy we used that same terminology haha

RIP to the Valk 🫡
I've been hearing a lot about that course, I'd love to go check it out- I moved from Dallas but I go through fairly frequently
Just got this disc this weekend and Absolutely love it.. I had the same reaction. Lone Star Discs have been hitting the marks
yeah it seems like the new releases keep getting better and better. Really enjoying it

This one is still in my bag and I'm still enjoying it! Paschal is a really solid park, long and short pads make it easy to change things up

hmm we just got some Saint Pros in the shop, I might need to snag one for science haha
Flys just like my Max weight stock neutron Relay. Which is very underated.
I've heard that they're more stable than their numbers indicate, which makes sense if they fly like a Frio

@@ArmoryDiscGolf yeah my Pyro has been upshot disc since I got it. It's super glidey now.
great review ! thanks
Thanks and you're welcome! It's a great disc

I'm crazy but not THAT crazy... Filmed it Monday haha
hi Nick this is Roderic. I subscribed
heyyy! Thanks for the sub
Hope to see you at more events, you're crushing it this year my guy 👊
Good video. How does the Frio compare to the Guadalupe?
Thanks! I found it to be noticeably more stable- my impression of the Guadalupe (an earlier vid on the channel) was that it was a good turnover or roller disc, whereas the Frio is stable enough to handle more power
For trowing down the gauntlet will you be selling discs day of tournament?
We sure will! Discs, gear, apparel... bringing the shop into town
I'm curious, how does this compare to the Guadalupe?
I have thrown one Guadalupe, just for reference (review vid is on the channel). But the Frio was noticeably more stable for me
Just curious but what putter were you using?
I'm a Pa3 putter. There were a couple of clips in this vid where I threw the Ranger in because I was holding it already
My chameleon explorer has been asking to be replaced, maybe this is is 👀
Especially if you like the shallow rim I think it's a good move. Not as stable as a fresh Explorer, obv.
watching this from rowlett .... pascal still has crap on every hole 🤣 learned how to play at that course
yeah I like the layout but I wish the construction and trash in the creek would go away...
@@ArmoryDiscGolf yeah when all that equipment is gone, it not a bad course.
Miss the original layout though
The Glow Lariat I have is ridiculously over stable!
well that's interesting... that might warrant a video if that's a consistent thing. Because for the longest time I thought the Lariat was way too flippy (the other one I've thrown was Bravo and was more like 9, 5, -3, 1)
