Btw the movie is about the main character being upset that he doesn't have complete control over his life and so he runs away to find something different where all of a sudden he's in place all about luck to teach him there's luck in life and he realizes his life was so much better before but just can't go back something ( I have no idea what yet ) from just going back and he going to have to rely on luck to get back
Can we talk about how Maia legit puts so much work into her, well, work but also feels like a real person, like she is? Lots of singers and dancers often feel like they just work all the time and nothing else but Maia feels like a normal young adult who isn't famous but then she produces pieces of art like this. She adds in the normal gen z humor and the work of someone working for years upon years. I applaud her for that and if she's reading, I applaud you. You are a really talented person and I can definitely see you going way, way farther than where you're at now.

Jessinya literally any time I get to that part of the song I instinctively do a tiny shoulder version of it cause it’s so iconic
I think its interesting how she tends the acknowledge her past self and smile at her, but not once did she look at her older self. I think that it reflects that she never can predict the future, and that she 's still looking at the past. The same goes how the older self is interacting with the kid still, suggesting that she misses the days of her youth. I love this music video!

the lights mimic the time of day! she wakes up and its darker with one bright light (sunrise) and it goes into her childhood with the morning lights, and then midday lights, we see flashbacks to the older woman and shes dancing in the dark (night time?) and then its afternoon when they all dance together and then its maia alone at sunset. i cant stop listening to this song and i cant stop watching the video. i want to paint every frame of this.

I really like how beautiful this song is. Like, no, it’s not beautiful in a way that renders you speechless, it isn’t the kind of beauty that would knock all the wind out of you, the kind that feels better to be appreciated from afar than to come too close for comfort. It’s not beautifully unnattainable and out-of-reach enough to be put on a pedestal. It’s... astoundingly normal. It’s comforting in a way that it feels... _realer_ than anything I’ve ever seen before. In this day and age polluted with filters and tapered with fantasy, it’s relieving to finally see something that just _enjoys_ existing, one that doesn’t try to escape reality nor distort it, but rather embrace it for what it really is to them. This song doesn’t make me feel like I owe the world my uniqueness as a person like other types of media nowadays tend to do, it helps me allow myself to be... normal. To just exist however I want. Everyone expects themselves to be special that they often forget that they don’t have to be. My sincerest apologies if it seems I read too much into this song, but I’d like to thank mxmtoon for existing however she wants. And for this song. And for everyone else out there who, maybe, at one point, just allowed themselves to exist.

AS A DANCER THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. The way you danced was so natural because it wasn’t so technical and included SO many styles which perfectly reflected the lyrics. The choreography with the little girl and then the older self was beautiful OML IM IN LOVE MAIA ☁️💞💗

This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. And this video matches that feeling. The part where she starts dancing with the young girl made me realize that my younger self will always remain in my past. I will never get to talk to her or be her again. I’m not her anymore. I’m an adult, taking on the world and all of it’s scary parts and beautiful moments. I will never again have the innocence of a child. That part of me is gone.

The dancing was BEAUTIFUL. I have this assignment of writing up a script for a story, and I had a massive mental breakdown since the story i made kept getting rejected by the teacher. So one night I had this dream about a business woman who breaks away from overworking and dances with her child self instead... And then this dancing music video comes in with the title "fever dream"? Even the lyrics feel so perfect for the premise of my story... I don't know how big of a coincidence that is but thank you for further inspiring me to do this little story of mine.

I’ve been struggling with depression and other mental issues for the past few years, and now that I’m in highschool, it’s only gotten worse. There’s times where I feel like I’m doing better, but that’s usually only when I’m listening to music. I love music that I can connect to. I also love it when I can connect to the artists as well. Some musicians seem like all they care about is releasing new stuff and buying as many ugly Versace diamond-crested towels they can, but you are so different. You are genuine and humble and I just love that about you. I don’t feel like you are light years away from me, like Kanye West or Lady Gaga, even though you are 1000% more successful than me 😂

Ok so, I just discovered your music. Heard some older tracks and got that excitement from finding a new (to me) artist. I quickly discovered you'd already blown up and you made it to tinydesk. I sat tight lipped as I heard "fever dream" for the first time. The next 10 hours I held my breath, until I woke up at 5am this morning and immediately went for my headphones. I have not cried so hard due to the sheer beauty and truth put together in such an artful way. The sweeping melody combined with the profound words have absolutely moved me. I'm a musician, and I've let restless mornings take a lot of precious time, this is such an inspirational anthem to express authenticity without resistance. My only hope is that one day I can create something as powerful and wonderful as this. You are so awesome!

I love how I can tell she's at least a few years older than me, but she still seems like she's just another high schooler, so it's easy to relate to her and feel like her music is speaking to you, y'know? And it gives me hope that my own music can be successful one day, and that maybe life isn't as hard as it seems. She claimed the "favorite singer" spot in my heart as soon as I heard her voice
