Ken Kellar Children should not be allowed to fly if they cry . the crew should kick them out with the parents. nobody wants to hear Kidds cry on the plane it’s too much
Very good video. I love the way there’s no talking, no music in the background because then you can actually hear and experience what it was like to be there.
The Airbus A340-500 which you flew on was actually going to be delivered to Kingfisher Airlines[went bankrupt in 2013].Kingfisher initially placed an order of six Airbus A340-500s way back in 2006 or 2007 for their non-stop flights from Chennai to San Francisco but then cancelled after five were built. These orders were replaced by their Airbus A330-200s and the airline also leased some A330s from BMI [British Midland Airways] .The seats of the A340-500 which you flew on still retain the original red color of Kingfisher Airlines.
The plane and amenities were worthy of a much longer flight. While the IFE was slow, many short-haul trips have no IFE at all, and that meal looked appropriate for a transAtlantic flight!
This just reminds me of when i flew Cathay Pacific’s A340 from China to JFK. Quite nostalgic to see this aircraft still flying for even just one singular commercial airline nowadays.
Brilliant video! You got a really nice wing view on an A340-500. I always love Azerbaijan livery, it's just beautiful. You're super lucky to fly on it since it's a rare plane and many airlines are retired it on their fleet nowadays. Thanks for sharing your amazing experience with Azerbaijan A340. I immediately subscribe your channel for more videos about rare planes, especially the A340s.
Amazing airline! I always am trying to flu them home from China to Ukraine. Awesome service, delicious food, reasonable prices and great airport in Baku. Also they own Buta airlines which flies to every major Ukrainian city, so it's super convenient for me and a lot of other Ukrainian passengers travelling to Asia.
Glad to see an airline with a livery that doesn't tell you "we wan't to save money on paint so here you go, a new fugly livery", but instead a good looking bird
this is also one of them a340s which were scheduled to be delivered to India based kingfisher airlines who ended up cancelling it and it ended up with azerbaijan airlines hence the seats you see are red in colour the theme colour of kingfisher airlines.

I am a big fan of 4-engine planes. I am sad to see not many airlines fly them anymore. I used to take Singapore Airlines A340-500 non-stop, all-business class flights from SIN to LAX. It also used in its SIN-CPH routes.
It may look glamorous, but the economy isn't so great. Wage is extremely low, and people struggle to live. Hell, with minimum wage, you can't even rent a 1 bedroom apartment on the outskirts of Baku.
Great video. I cannot believe how many small children are allowed to almost convulse, whilst on a plane. Maybe I’m getting old, but is this the latest advice for parents....let them cry?
Apart from it being questionable stress-wise to take your children on some flights if it's not necessary it is completely normal for babies to cry. Surprise, they don't understand the situation like you do. And no, hitting them is not a long term solution either.
Flying in October from MUC to JFK on Lufthansa A340. For me it’s one of the best looking airplane ever build. LH even updated the cabine recently. Also like the fact it’s 2-4-2 seating and not 3-3-3 or 3-4-3.
Great video of the most beautiful A340 version, but 2:12 is not completely correct. AZAL has only two A345 and one A346. Furthermore there are some more active A340-500s but most of them are used for governmental operations and even one in VIP configuration.

They already recreated the a340 and made it more fuel efficient. It's the A350. You just can't make an aircraft that size fuel efficient if you stick four engines below it, so two big ones is the way to go for fuel efficiency. I really love both the A340 and the A350 but I'm afraid there is a good reason why the A340 will leave most airlines that young.
A345, a rare bird but my favorite A340 variant, just the right proportions and majestic looking right after the 747.

The A380s are also getting chopped up, some after less than 10 years of service.
