    Thank god, this channel is the best thing i have ever came across this Video really defines my condition as i have never seen this type of ocd video on internet thanks for making me feel like i am not alone with this horrifying,soul torchering condition.

    I understand that the more i push to get rid of these sensation the more trapped we get, but every time i feel ok for sometime my mind tries to latch for those sensation and gets me trapped again

    Thanks for the video Nick. I have been gradually realising that thinking about my blinking or swallowing forever would be pretty annoying, but definitely not the end of the world.

    Nick you are brilliant. I hope you realise how much you being willing to be honest about your problems with sensorimotor ocd helps the rest of us. Thank you. When i get a bit down about having swallowing ocd i remind myself that you have come through this. I say if Nick can do this then so can i.

    brilliant video¡¡ i admit that believing what the internet says about sensorimotor OCD can make the cycle bigger and deeper, Jon Hershfield agrees to that the sensation is not the problem but the fear of being latched forever, i made so much progress understanding this and not trying to expose to my symptoms because it always turns up the volume of them. You covered very important steps to make the recovery journey, thank you¡ i hope you keep talking about this topic

    I am hyper aware of how I think 🤔 and remember what I was thinking the prior days and how I was feeling...i need help. I dont want to keep hoarding memories.

    So I don't have to expose myself to gagging and vomiting if I have emetophobia,? which means I'm obsessed with sensations in my stomach and throat.

    I just getting great success in my eye floaters problem as i started accepting them by doing whatever i am avoiding before bcz of eye floaters.... swallowing will take time but its ok as far i got to know i recover from tinnitus and great success in swallowing well still long way to go and i will 😎

      Hi. How is the saliva/swallowing theme going for you. I've the same thing. I've learnt so much about it. Recovery is really a rollercoaster. Somedays you feel alright and other times not.

    For me, old OCD sufferer, this salivation thing is a new one. The thing is that I do not mind focusing on swallowing, the thing that bothers me is that I produce so much saliva since this started. Any advice (or video, or book?)

    Hi when I go to theatre there will be red exit light iam getting anxiety while watching that iam unabe to watch movie what i need to do iam not understanding I know what my problems are but i don't know solutions one more is iam getting anxiety with normal fan sound

    One of my symptoms is, I always feel dissociated from my
    Surroundings or I feel I can’t grasp what the “present moment” means or I obsess over the fact that time is constantly passing so the present moment changes each second
    I notice my dissociated feeling from the world and I get a full blown panic attack
    Is this related to sensorimotor?

      This is called existential OCD if I'm not wrong and yes i had also gone through it and my trigger was the German web series Dark lol

      @@playgirl_95 I was taking Ayurvedic medication briefly (I’m from India), and I spent a lot of time around people. I did reach out to those close to me that I’m not okay. It was very very gradual but I started noticing a change after that when I didn’t focus too much on “getting better” or obsessing over the fact that I’m anxious. I also try to get in a bit of exercise (I try to do yoga regularly and also go on a morning walk) and try to eat healthy and not skip any meals.

    Mine is only in social situations/ around people. I become hyper aware of my eye movements and they become very manual and if some one is looking at my face it becomes very manual and mechanical. Do you think this is social anxiety fused with OCD?

      I think the difference with social anxiety is the person is more terrified of been judged negatively where ocd is more focused on the particular symptom and fear that more than any judgment

    Have u ever suffered with a hyper awareness of your internal organs, I’m terrified about the fact that I have organs and a brain to point where I nearly throw up bc I feel trapped with my organs. I’m not sure that to do about these thoughts because it’s not like I can just remove my body xx

      Hi I've had similar issues with my brain in my head it's a very strange feeling but again with every hyper awareness ocd it's all to do with anxiety and fear when the anxiety is lowered to thoughts will also lower
      Sounds easy I know but it is the truth

    Constant saliva buildup is a 24/7 non-stop challenge. You feel the saliva buildup in your mouth which gives you anxiety which in turn creates more saliva and the only way to stop the saliva is eating or chewing something. Anytime you are talking, you can trigger this anxiety by thinking of your saliva. I wish you could just tell your mind, hey chillout stop producing more saliva, you're fine.

      Same thing for me. Somedays when I just stay with the discomfort it feels a little better and for a few minutes I forget about it. Yet, a little anxiety makes me so my compulsions or seek reassurance which hold me back again

    Does anybody here share the hyper awareness of their mouth position? I've dealt with this all my life and it is mentally draining. I'm always concerned with whether my teeth are held shut, the position of my tongue, and just my mouth in general. In attending to this, I find it difficult to ever rest my mouth and not be in total control of it. It is the worst when I'm reading, as it demands more of my attention. I just wish I could focus entirely on something without dividing my attention. Most of all, I just want to feel less anxious and relax.

    I have breathing sensorimotor ocd and find myself trying to avoid manually breathing a lot throughout the day. The main way I think I avoid the thought is by rumination. Im usually pretty successful in not noticing my breath, however, should I instead just give in and notice my breath when I get those intrusive thoughts that tell me to not think about it? If so would this not be considered exposure?

    Nick, thank you, this is great. Any advice for people like myself who have had breathing hyperawareness for a long time and also has chronic nasal congestion...this is like a triple whammy when a person has this hyperawareness yet really cannot breathe properly through the nose. Awareness then is almost non stop.

      Hey Mirza! Totally understand where you’re coming from. So what I noticed was I really just didn’t want to notice these sensations again, which was understandable. I really had to move towards this place that even if I did notice these sensations for the remainder of my life it wasn’t the end of my life. This was 🔑. It took me some time as I was so used to running from the sensation so I had to bring that discomfort everywhere I went!

    Maybe a touchy subject but then again, this channel is about touchy and hard subjects to talk about, but I sometimes wonder, how many people actually do commit suicide on let’s say, a yearly basis due to having OCD and thinking or feeling they can’t recover and it is going to be there and bother them for the rest of their life?
    Because I think I’m in that boat, which is probably why I never will recover, but that’s sort of okay to me, if Joure okay with not living that long, it does make it less terrible to think about because you know you won’t suffer for a very long time.
    Is there a study on these suicide cases anywhere?

      @@OCDRecovery No I’m sure there are people out there dedicated enough to do it, but I can’t unthink the thought that it needs to go away at a certain point in my life, even in my subconscious mind.
      I know I’m not supposed to have that thought in the back of my mind even, because the OCD will pick up on it anyway.
      But yeah. I don’t know.
      It’s a hard disorder to have, let’s just say that.
