I will never forget the experience as a five-year-old kid, covering my face for most of the tour because I was so scared of the animatronics. Except for Kong. He was the only one I didn't cover my eyes for. He completely exceeded my expectations when I saw him. It really hurts to hear that he was removed in 2019, probably due to budgeting issues or lack of space for newer rides. At least I managed to experience it and that's what counts! :D

The African Safari was one of the highlights of Djurs Sommerland. We went back this year for a nostalgic revisit with our now very much grown-up son, and were very saddened to find it closed down.and apparently being demolished. A very bad decision in my view. It was magical.

I remember being 4 or 5 years old and having so much fun on this ride! Well, except when King Kong appeared 😂 I was scared to death, and now, over 20 years later, I found him!
I was always asking myself whether or not I just imagined him being this big, but no, he actually is! 😅
Guess this one manifasted a lifelong fear of animatronics for me.
But reading all this comments about this ape being a lovely memory for many others, I think I can now forgive him 😊 Thank you for uploading ❤

Mr Lowe i will not say it was the giant king Kong that scared me more the spider cave I was where scared of spiders when I was little and my mom told me that when she and my dad took me on the ride for the first time when we came in to the spider cave and saw the spider i hide in my dads shirt for the rest of the ride
