You would though need to get insurance coverage for the event, which will cost bike dollars at it involved motorcycles. See my other, somewhat long, post on this video about Non Profits and starting your own sanctioning body.

@@CKYmoto don’t short sell Rita, she went 32 and 0 back when the real racers raced in 89. Davey was there cheerleading, I remember seeing him as a young lad.
Taken from another comment sections thought you'd find it interesting cooksey I got into this sport and raced later starting in 1976, (back when a kid with a part time job could afford a bike). I have studied the decline of the sport over the last few decades, and have come to some solid conclusions that others have not, because they have not studied like I have. There are 3 major happenings that has pushed the sport into decline, and now into danger. All are unwarranted interventions into the industry. #1) It was the FIM in 1986 that put together the 1986 production rule, (and Yamaha the manufacturing spear head for that movement, claiming they could not afford to make works bikes.). The AMA is "an arm" of the FIM. The AMA is not a separate entity and are subservient to the FIM. That move happened With FIM scorn because we had won the MX Des nations since 1981, and it had to be stopped. All that rule did was 2 things that hurt the sport. 1, It stopped factory development in the USA (Europe to gain tech advantage), and all of them, even Yamaha makes works bikes for Europe to this day. 2, It tripled the cost of a bike in just over 5 years. By by kids buying your own bikes. Market share started dropping. #2) The 2001 promoters scandal, when the AMA/Clear Channel contract ran out, the AMA fraudulently picked a rock promoter, Jam Sports, to cover SX/MX and do it live for the first time. Clear Channel retaliated by teaming up with the FIM, (Now the FIM directs our racing), as competition for Jam sports and the AMA. Clear Channel then illegally tied up the venues, so Jam Sport could not have races at the venue. Jam Sports later won a law suit against those actions, but the criminals took over the sport. #3) We have a big problem with a dictatorship called the EPA now, and they, a outside government force, forced the manufactures to put the road race technology 4-stroke engine in their MX bikes,---to save the planet, right. (China has no EPA regulations kids and they could have been written in the trade agreements over the last 45 years. It is not about the planet, It is about advancing communism). The 4-stroke forced on the industry (Yamaha being the manufacturing spear head for the movement again,--but let to be the last Jap manufacture to still make 125.250 2-strokes. Sneaky), also cause the bike to over double in price again, with a very small market share that can't even fill up a MXGP starting gate, that the FIM runs. Final conclusion, the EPA force could not have happened if the 4-stroke did not actually work better, (but cost reduces market share more). The smother power and wide range they have made a MX bike much easier to ride, and the EPA wanted the 4-stroke to be faster than the 2-stroke, so people who want to win or do well would have to switch, (which took 8 years to switch our gates totally). So the bikes are faster, that makes the tracks faster. Injuries are through the roof, and even deaths of the local tracks have increased. "60 Minutes" took out the 3-wheeler because of injuries back in the 80's. It is the EPA that had no right to tell the industry what to make and us to buy, as they use force. Not a good business agreement, but a dictatorship. The EPA is at fault for the price of the bike, increased injuries and death, and a dying sport of greatness. I won't get into the electric bike force. That is a long story too. I studied it well folks. This is what happened in reality. This is what is killing this great sport. Doug in Michigan

We had a similar situation in the '80's in South Africa. (Remember, South Africa has produced a fair share of World Champions both in Circuit Racing as well as in Off-road). I just hate that races require us to have AMA memberships. Even us Pitbike racers which isnt really an offical class anymore. Etc. Like what in sams hell do we need that for?
Oo yeah that's ugly. Well how in the hell does the AMA get tracks/ small leagues etc. to abide by such rule? They aren't paying them to, I don't think. It's really dumb for me because when I sign up for class membership since it technically doesn't exist we have to register as open class hence the X in my moto number(s), or if I have an existing class like 250B etc they use that. But since it's just halfway mess around events, it just seems senseless, but many others have some good purse loot attached to them still.
72,000 in pension plan accruals vs 3 mil in salaries could be a potential red flag; however, its more likely their benefits are just sub par (no 401k matching and what not).

When was the last time the ama held a vote for there board members? The members of the nonprofit are supposed to vote in leadership. There's an Ave for change if the members step up. I ran a nonprofit for 2 decades. Paying salaries and expenses is one thing. But it is all supposed to make no profit at yrs end. I'm nit understanding how they haven't been audited. And quite frankly, a 300k salary is a bit extreme. Not as extreme as the ceo of red cross (who makes 1mil+) but seems a bit inflated. Personally even when times allowed it financially, I could never morally take that kind of pay from the nonprofit. The whole point is people helping people thru the organization. I have alot of thoughts on this but there is most definitely some shady stuff going on in the ama with the amount of money they're playing with.
You may want to look up the amas by-laws. All if this should be explained clearly and it's public info. Wouldn't it be fun to have the members vote in a complete new board?
Cooksey, I worked for Racer X from Feb 2023-October 2023. I was in the office in Morgantown. I understand some of your statements, but Rita is still very involved in the planning and execution of basically every event they put on. She is (I am not sure how old, but old if we are being honest) and STILL works 7 days a week to put on events. She deserves to be in the HOF. If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)
Maybe a honor, but HOF? Should we expose all the evil she has done? Are those things HOF worthy? Helping facilitate the stealing of rights to Outdoor MX, is that HOF worthy? I don’t see anything honorable about what the Coombs family has done, just my opinion.
AMA= “we spend all kinds of money so your racers will have a future in a place to ride “. =. 000,000,00 “see all that money we spent to better the riders”
I knew the ama was shady when you are the sanctioning body and you let go of the national race in your state at kenworthys which to my knowledge the riders loved and ironically could have made a good super mx track that was legit not on a dragstrip or something
@@unstoppableplayz6948 yeah I'm from Hamilton and was at kenworthys in 96 at 15 with my hand in a sling because I crushed my thumb between the sprocket a bolt or something I can't remember but I needed plastic surgery. For one, if you look back at the sport in 2010s and earlier and you had more sponsors lining the tracks and riders. A multitude of brands. slowly but surely those sponsors have disappeared for whatever reason and now we have this generic Monster Energy ruling theme with a lot less sponsors around.
@@Steezy_Mx look at what the “M” in the monster logo means. That’s where you’ll find your answer, for moto and for the meteoric rise of monster energy. I’ll give you a hint, the “M” is actually 3 numerical digits in a different language.
This is not new for the AMA . Even in the 80's i refused to get a membership ( had to do a few one day cards) and only raced with the CMC in SoCal or the Vegas club with Don Gilbert's track. Yea he held an AMA national 1 time and i heard that they worked him over
With SMX and no drug testing they did nothing but point out the fact guys were coming off the surgery table to race on the broadcast of the finals. Pretty much advertising PEDs without telling what they used.
AMA was always known as the Ohio Motorcycle Association. Sounds a lot like what happened in the NRA pay the prez 1Million a year, and laying off staff because of budget cuts.
It sucks that we’re forced to buy memberships to ride. Can’t do any district races or practices without a AMA card whether you support them or not or complain on deaf ears
I looks like you are on to something. However for you to be credible and safe from law suit you or someone needs to do a heck of a lot more research into these organizations before saying much more. Facts are your friend here and anything less is going to get you into trouble. So I'd take a pause, get the facts and them report them here on YT. Can't wait to see what you find out.
Controversy always sells, I just like to watch young athletes develop themselve and do their best. Big money may have a chance to ruin everything. Greed will make a sad story out of a great sport

@@CookseyMedia keep pushing. The "FMP" here in Portugal is a state owned federation that also won't help the riders much... I want to get my 7yo kid into dirt bikes but actually there's no much hope for competition here, we're gonna end up riding the weekends just for fun
@@jeyloureiroI've always wondered why Portugal didn't produce more professional level riders. You guys have great riding opportunities and your Enduro GP races are world class. Hate to hear that your sanctioning body is stifling opportunities for Young riders
Cooksey my man I thought you were exaggerating with some of the stuff you posted but I truly apologize and give you my respects 🙌🏽
Keep it up and lawyer up buddy make them pay
Great job Cooksey 👏🏻👍🏻
I just hate that races require us to have AMA memberships. Even us Pitbike racers which isnt really an offical class anymore. Etc.
Like what in sams hell do we need that for?
That is the scam!
Sounds like something a Mexican cartel would do.
72,000 in pension plan accruals vs 3 mil in salaries could be a potential red flag; however, its more likely their benefits are just sub par (no 401k matching and what not).
Brother I hope that they dont know Hillary. Please be careful and aware of surroundings which I am sure you are. People have been bothered for way less money.
More!!!!!
FREEDOM…….!!!
This is unreal. Here in Indiana we have 0 public land to ride on... And we only are loosing motorcross tracks.
What part of Indiana are you in?
Sad but its happening everywhere. To many truly hate our sport.
Call Morgan and Morgan’ in Florida. The biggest law firm in the world
Cooksey,
I worked for Racer X from Feb 2023-October 2023.
=. 000,000,00 “see all that money we spent to better the riders”
nice work. lotta money...going where? wild. good find.
You know the AMA Hall of Fame is a scam when Paul Schlegel isn’t in it.
My racing club requires that you have an AMA membership to compete. Bunch of crap
Where does the $$$ go? #freecooksey.
I knew the ama was shady when you are the sanctioning body and you let go of the national race in your state at kenworthys which to my knowledge the riders loved and ironically could have made a good super mx track that was legit not on a dragstrip or something
Kenworthys was awesome. Widow maker💯🤟.
I'm from OH to bro. ✊️.
It was a great track.
@@unstoppableplayz6948 yeah I'm from Hamilton and was at kenworthys in 96 at 15 with my hand in a sling because I crushed my thumb between the sprocket a bolt or something I can't remember but I needed plastic surgery. Kenworthys was a awesome track and actually had a kinda supercross section that included the widow maker. That pro section was awesome to watch
@@cbogoloI always thought it looked dangerous as hell there but I do understand from a spectator for point of view it was probably spectacular
@@tjtruth4793 Yeah I know about the monster logo. crazy stuff.
She out there under the table just like Kamala. Gawk.
This is not new for the AMA . Even in the 80's i refused to get a membership ( had to do a few one day cards) and only raced with the CMC in SoCal or the Vegas club with Don Gilbert's track. Yea he held an AMA national 1 time and i heard that they worked him over
Something seems fishy!! 🐟🐟🐟
They should have let buddy go to the race!
this just makes me want to scream !!!!!
If the AMA wants to help. Then they need to invest in riding areas in every state. We are losing riding places every year
If they AMA were so concerned for advertising = pay for the US team to go over to race against the other countries
And all my years of racing motocross, I’ve never seen AMA do anything to promote the sport a small ad in a magazine maybe
Coombs and Combs Family SUS AF 😂
The racing money is probably from sanctioned Amateur Races. They take a few and in turn give the event affordable insurance.
I have not been an AMA member for over 30+ years.
Good, they are a big scam.
Controversy always sells, I just like to watch young athletes develop themselve and do their best. Big money may have a chance to ruin everything. Greed will make a sad story out of a great sport
Cooksey, don't stand near any windows.
And dont they pay their stars of the show?!!! Greedy Greedy Greedy
Did you hear what Duffe said on the Gypsy podcast, Duffe said Sexton was the reason why they took out the huge jump at Ironman. SMH Sexton doesn't have that dog in him, he's just a whittle puppy, sorry, but Sexton have is a little soft. LOL 😂 ( 2:52:34)
This side not related to the video. I did see western raceway was looking to start races out there. Is that something you could help them with?
Of course I would love to help
A permanent flagging crew, where?
For real. Every other major sanctioning body has professional course Marshals and first aid. But not the AMA... Nooooo. Looks like a fucking Chinese fire drill
@@Dashriprock4 😆 🤣 😂
50 bucks a year so i dont have to wear a helmet! thanks ama
Still have to in most states.
@@GT-mn3bx They cant even secure my simple right - sheesh.
I’m with you cooksey this seems real shady and very fraudulent
Like the NRA, AMA will never get another $ out of me
I have been to the AMA museum which is not worth going to!
Does not Feld Entertainment Own SMX sports ?
Ever watch a dog chase its tail?
I quit going to the races a long time ago. Coombs are a bunch of greedy turds, making it big time off the backs of the riders and fans. The rider fees are so ridiculous that its not even worth it...and big dollar teams always get favored. Support your local NON ama tracks!
Crooks and Kooks 😵💫
Exposing their secrets!
Cooksey, this is like Metallica, taking on napster. That did nothing but cost them shit tons of $$$!!! It's easy to have people backing you when they are silent.Good luck.
The TRUTH is we will loose all personal property rights
Come on cooksey do we really need to hear 47 sponsorship ads every vid. You are extra ridiculous with them
If you want to cover my costs, sure.
