  • In this travel vlog, join us on our Alaska road trip as we travel through Anchorage, Matanuska Glacier, Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park, Philip Sound cruise, and finally, the Dalton highway to reach the Arctic Circle and watch the northern lights from Borealis Basecamp.
    Day 4
Matanuska Glacier Trek- We are headed to hike on a glacier! At 27 miles (43 km) long by 4 miles (6.4 km) wide, it is the largest glacier accessible by car in the United States - the Matanuska Glacier. The most accessible way to Matanuska is through a privately owned property; you'll have to buy a ticket.
We chose micaguides.com for this fantastic experience!
    Day 5
Kenai Fjords National Park - At the edge of the Kenai Peninsula lies a land where the ice age lingers. Nearly 40 glaciers flow from the Harding Icefield, Kenai Fjords' crowning feature. Wildlife thrives in icy waters and lush forests around this vast expanse of ice. The Exit Glacier area is the only part of the park accessible by road, and we decided to explore it!
    Day 6
Glacier Cruise from Whittier - We're doing something exciting today! We'll be visiting a town where the entire town lives in the same building!!! Welcome to Whittier
Constructed in 1943 by the US military during WWII, the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel is the only way to reach the strategically located town of Whitter!
It is a single-lane 4km tunnel, which opens only for 15 mins for traffic on each side, so if you miss your chance, you can only enter again after one hour! And here we are, just on time!
We chose phillipcruises.com for this experience!
    Day 7
Gates to the Arctic National Park and Arctic Circle -The Dalton Highway, the world's most dangerous road in the Winter, is also one of the most isolated roads in America, with hardly any gas /food, or medical services. The Yukon River camp is the only major stop on the 400-mile stretch.
    Day 8,9
Borealis Basecamp - We designed our whole trip around the availability at Borealis Basecamp!
Fancy living in an igloo and enjoying the Northern Lights from the comfort of your bed? Then this is the place for you! We were lucky to have witnessed a fantastic dance of the Aurora Borealis during our time here!
    Day 10

Hi @srishsupernatural, thanks for watching the video! 💕
This video is from early September during the fall season.
The first week of September (fall) is perfect if you want to access all the national parks and activities and enjoy Northern Lights. But you would likely see no snow. Be careful while booking, as many businesses start closing in the second week for the severe winter.
Mid-February is ideal if you are adventurous and want to see Alaska in its natural and most exotic way- completely covered in snow! The drive to the Arctic Circle is unlike anything we have ever experienced. On the downside, parks are not open, and activities may be limited. But the beauty is unmatchable!
May (Spring) is good if you do not want such cold temperatures but would like to see the snow melting. Longer days would mean fewer chances of Northern Lights but the parks and activities start opening.
I recommend visiting Alaska during the fall, just before the parks close in September. It is the best time to vacation in Alaska, but my husband is very adventurous and recommends the winter season! It was so beautiful we went there twice - in the fall and winter!

I hope you have a wonderful trip in any season you choose to go :)
