    Because of you, I just ordered the Reliable blind hemmer. I tried to get this one, but couldn’t from USA. I’m a new sewing, and wish to work on curtains and mainly hemming my pants ;)

    I don’t need it, but I love the toys, so of course I want it...lol. Thanks for the demo and review.

    I just love all of your industrial machines!😍 In my dream sewing room, I would have to have a blind hemmer-until then, I'll look for blind hemming thread and be glad that I'm old school and don't mind hand stitching.🤣

    I didn’t know you could get a machine like that! what a lovely little thing 🤩 I’m super lazy and I never blind hem anything! It’s standard machine hem all the way for me 🙈🤣 or at least unless I can be bothered to hand sew! (Which is very rare for me) x

    • @GingerheadCo
      @GingerheadCo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not good at hand sewing 🤣 I basically need a machine for everything - I love machines 🤣 I would have never bought it, but I had been silly enough to try (at some quilt show) and I fell in love 🤣🤣🤣

    I just bought one and love it. Thanks for the tour. I am still practicing and learning. And this video is very welcome. Although I have already created beautiful blind hems with my blind hem machine 😊😉 Thank you!😚

    • @GingerheadCo
      @GingerheadCo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was quite intimidated when I got it because it is so fast, but it's actually a really simple to operate machine 😊 and it's so satisfying to hem something big perfectly in minutes 😊 have fun with your hemming (it can get addictive 😄)

    • @mariav.4832
      @mariav.4832 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GingerheadCo Thank you! ☺ Think the addiction will be there soon😊 What I love about it, it's really easy to use. Like you said and you only need one spool of thread. Changing is done in no time. Top! A little more work with the cover lock.. 😥 The only thing I will have to practice a little bit is adjusting the blind seam correctly. To make your blind hem as invisible as possible. This will come ...😉 The speed is indeed quite imitating in the beginning.. So happy with my new toy!🤗

  • @suepratt2536
    @suepratt2536 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    It is cute 😃 and is certainly fast 😳and I am still looking for the invisible hem stitches 🤣

    • @GingerheadCo
      @GingerheadCo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was considering using very thick topstitching thread but decided against it, because the truth is: you can't see the hem in real life so I'd just be showing the stitch formation (and the video is already very 'niche' 🤣🤣🤣 I am the only person I know who watches this sort of content 😉) but if you look very very very closely, you can see the needle punched dots 🤣 they disappear after you've ironed the hem 😁 x

      They are good, aren't they? I actually thought about you when I was recording the video (it's a requested video, but I'm pretty sure it's not for most people 🤣) because you are the only person I could think of, who would either have one or was planning to get it 😉 I do love this machine 😁 x

      Gingerhead & Co ha ha Alex you know me well!! We both love our toys! I bought mine when I opened my curtain shop .. can you imagine the metres of curtain hens we hand gemmed before I bought it !! Oh when I think of how sore my fingers used to get ! I’ve never used it on clothes but now you’ve got me thinking 🤔. I’m going to dust it off later

    I have a really old Colombia Union Blind stitch machine that runs at 3000 stitches per minute. Its huge and I'm not sure how to put it all back together after taking it apart to bring it home. Lol but between the manual I found online and this, it was helpful. I'm hopeful I will figure it all out.

    Does it hem a 10 cm hem? I’m shopping for a blind hemmer for curtains but im not sure which one to get , the portable or the big industrial! What do you think?

  • @dessyedeeclark1144
    @dessyedeeclark1144 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am grateful for your video. I already have a Singer industrial sewing machine... that I was intimidated by, but still want to master. Now I have been blessed with a blind hemmer too. My husband thinks that the motor on my sewing machine should be able to work well to power the blind hemmer too. Thus I could simply lift the sewing machine out of the cabinet and swap in the blind hemmer when it was needed. This could save on space. the RPM speed is nearly equivalent, 1730 on the sewing machine and 1725 on the hemmer. The blind hemmer has 1/3 horse power and the sewing machine is 1/2. Would this have benefits for thicker materials? any drawbacks in this idea?

    I have a question. We focus on bespoke suits. Would this work on the jacket lapels to showoff that finishing details on the edges. I tried researching about this and it looks like they use a blind stitch machine to do that.

    Please please i hope you can help me. I am willing to buy something like this but i cant seem to find if it can do what i want. I make fleece pads with have multiple layers and your meant to turn it inside out and 🤬 hand blind stitch. Its impossible the fleece stretch’s after turning out and its impossible to fold in and flatten and i cant hand stitch for the life of me. I have bursitis and carpel tunnel in both hands. When i try it always breaks in the wash because these liners get washed alot. I want a way to blind stitch the last parts of a seam that can not be turn inside out anymore once its turned in (like a cushion that will never open again or a comforter that washed as is not open up to wash). Can this machine do it please say yes please

    Have you had any problems with the belt under the pulley? What happens when you turn the pulley or hand wheel the wrong way?

    • @GingerheadCo
      @GingerheadCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never had any problems with it, if you turn the hand wheel the wrong way once it will probably not do much damage, but I wouldn't do it, you might damage the motor and that's very costly to replace.
