The Phillipines has recently come out with some of the best BL series ever of which GameBoys is definitely the best. The innovative storylines, the direction, the acting in most Pinoy BL series are all top notch. If this trend continues Pinoy BL series may well become more popular than Thai BL series which still need to break way from stories with high school or university background. It's high time Thai BL series producders come up with more sophisticated stories and productions or they will be left behind.

I just watched the first season on Netflix ONLY BECAUSE it's the first audiovisual media product I've seen in 31 years of life in which a main character has the same first name as me. turns out it's really good and amazingly done and acted. cannot wait to watch the movie and the second season. kudos to all involved, love from Portugal!

This show should be appreciated on all its levels because it delivers like no other. I discovery the so-called “BL” genre several years ago and of course I landed on shows from Thailand. However, after watching this show, my perspective of a well-directed show changed completely. I finally believed that a show with a hint of a gay undertone can be done tastefully, fun, energetic, and without cliché. I often found the shows from Thailand recycled, repetitive and most of them lacked the authenticity of a genuine relationship. I cannot count how many times I watched “BL” shows with the same scene but with different titles and slight changes in the characters. For example, after watching 4 BL shows from Thailand, I came to the conclusion that the characters do not ever really kiss or portray what a person would consider a realistic affection. I got so tired of the cliché movements such as when one guy falls into the arm of another guy when that guy is about to fall and then they stop and look into each other eyes. I am like, Lord send something with realism. It is 2021, I did not need to see more than one scene of a peck on the forehead as if it is forbidden to kiss on the lips. How about the scene where they put their lips close to each other and hold it there? I am like, come on, who does this in the real world. I don't need to see a hung as if you are hugging your boss. I need that type of hug as if you are really hugging the person you care for and love. This show does that every time.
GameBoys came along and said to the Thailand shows, “hold my camera, let me show you what your audiences deserve.” The emotions in the show are just captivating and draws you in for more. The dialogues are exceptionally delivered. We all know that the actors are straight, but they committed to their roles. I felt like the actors and actress said, “If I am going to play a character and I not going to give you a mediocre performance.” This is what makes this show great.
When do you know the director is fantastic? When he or she makes you suspend your reality and captures in you the magic of the show. Here the director did that. How many of us were mad at Terrence meddling in their relationship? Or, when Pearl character showed Cairo, “I got your back.” When watching the show, I said “damn, everyone needs friend like Pearl.” When a director can make you feel emotions toward the character, he/she has struck gold. In my mind I said, the actor that plays Terrence is probably a really nice guy, but boy, I cannot help but feel the need to yelp at “Terrence”, “Need mind your business and find someone else.”
This show does not deserve to be called a “BL” show, because doing so, downgrades its quality. Watching this show and one from another country is like watching a Ferrari race a bicycle. This show is far beyond a show with a gay theme. It is a show that takes on a journey of several peoples’ lives that you feel for the character’s joy, pain, confusion, happiness, and struggles. So, kudos to the director and the production company for making something that you feel proud to tell others to watch it.

This is the type of BL I would pay to see. Season 1 was amazing. Now, Season 1 its on Netflix. Well, now I play season 1 on Netflix and let it play over and over again so they can get credits and support. Then Netflix can say, well this is popular so let's get the rest of the rights to streaming this show on our platform.
