Set in the midst of the global pandemic, Cairo and Gavreel, who had previously been communicating online, decide to try living together for a brief period of time. However, while Gav is aggressive and straightforward in expressing his love, Cairo, who is more modest, is not quite ready to move forward so swiftly. As the two continue to spend time together and explore their feelings for each other, they are unexpectedly greeted by Terrence, Gav's ex-boyfriend. All of a sudden, Cairo and Gav’s lives take a turn for the worse, and soon, unexpected difficulties befall the two souls who have now fallen in love with each other.

What is with all the sad endings all of the sudden? Not everything has to have a sad ending. It sends the message that no gay couple could ever have a happily ever after. I hope they'll be a season 3 where they can finally have a happy ever after.
It seems it's mostly the gay relationships that end up bad. You have to remember that these so-called BL writers are under legal systems which are HEAVILY influenced by the Roman Catholic Church, or other religious restrictions in other countries. Personally, as a writer/author, I feel that the seemingly always-negative endings are a hit of religious-homophobia by the writers. And yet, we are now in the third decade of a new millennium, where in most free-from-religious-influence, countries, The LGBTQ+ community is reflected in reality. Where they get married, establish homes, and have families SUCCESSFULLY. More than ever, gay relationships are working, lasting, and have happy-endings. But writers like these, are still weltering through the homophobic-swamps, of gay stereotypes, of former decades. I truly don’t think they actually can see that, because they are under that religious influence, blinded by culture, tradition, and religion. I watch and wish I had just one chance to writer a true picture of many gay relationships.

Fujoshi like these sad tales since they make it romantic for them. Gameboy 1 has gone fujoshi for Gameboy 2.
Personally, I don't think it's a sad ending per say. In my opinion, the way this show closes Season 2 is a realistic ending because they chose their families for legitimate reasons over being together. But it's also a very hopeful ending. Throughout the two seasons they've dealt with death from both sides, family homophobia, bills/ trying to make ends meet, and actually having healthy relationships with other family members and friends which I think are realistic and healthy topics to explore, not just happy couple 24/7. The way the show ends heaviliy implies that they may actually end up together since there's the online scene where they're about to meet up yet again. And before that there's the scenes where they both proposed to each other and made a time capsule. So to me, unlike other shows/films which either display too much cutesy overly attached or self loathing toxic couples, at least this show, despite it's flaws, tried to give us a gradual, and dare I say, almost pure love towards each other and how both are willing to tough it out through the hardships so that they can have a happy ending while also building a future for themselves.

im not gonna ask for a season 3 but directors please have one special episode atleast and give them a happy ending..... its a very wise and realistic way to end the series but its hurting... nothing much just 1 special ep for them having a truly happy ending nothing dramatic

I am actually fed up with Filipino BL's. I watch them only to practice my comprehension of spoken Tagalog. But I am sick and tired of the writers of these stories sadly separating the boys at the end. At least Rainbow Prince and Hello Stranger had happy endings.

Yall talking so much about sad endings, but like... where is the sad ending??? I was expecting so much worse after reading the comment but they didn't break up. No one died. They're literally just gonna be a long distance couple. They'll still have each other in their lives and get to build their own individual lives. That's literally a double win. Then when they're ready and able, they can go back to each other
