The E2 model with the new Shimano motor looks superb.
The entery level with the E7000 looks outdated in terms of power system.
It's a shame that Shimano are srill pushing this old motor which wasn't good even when they just released it.
At least Marine don't charge 7,500$ for it like Santa Cruz does with their entery level E7000 bulit...

I think you need to learn how to pronounce 'Marin'! Try 'Mah-rinn' with emphasis on the second syllable; the way SF Bay Area folks say it!

Your dependance on “sponsor mentions” is becoming tiring. I get the commerce, np, but dial it out a bit!;Films have product placement rather than in your face stuff... Content, not constants is the key.

Love the new Marin E1 but a bit low on 60nm torque, plus love the your world music, did notice Bambang from Indonesia on a hard tail Marin ebike rig

It's Mah rin not mare in. Named after a county north of San Francisco that is purported to be the birthplace of mtb. I'm sure you've heard of it

anyone have any experience with the lower end Giant Stance e+? I'm taking the dive and purchasing an emtb and already bought a few bikes this year so I have to go budget, unfortunately. Do you think it's worth it to buy the lower end Stance and upgrade as I go or to spend quite a bit more now and go for the Trance? or even go another route and buy a hardtail with better spec? I live in Ottawa, Canada where most of my trails near me are green, blue flawy type trails. Only venture in to the rough stuff maybe once, twice a year. TIA

Hi Sean, I demoed the 2020 Stance E+1 for about 6 weeks before buying a 2020 Trance E+2. I would have to say that the Stance is a decent bike, capable too but you don't want to put it in over its head. However, riding the bike I purchased I noticed right away that the Trance was way plusher, the suspension worked better, the brakes did a much better job (still on the original organic pads). So I would say if you can stretch for it then do it as you will get a much more capable bike.
That said you might want to upgrade the tires and put in sintered brake pads. One other gripe I had was the rear Shimano Deore hub, it started creaking after about 6 months (1000km). Sent it in for warranty, bought an upgrade to XT hub but that one started creaking after 2 rides. Now I have a DT Swiss hybrid wheel on the back and it's good.

@@Rippy211 That's some great info. Thank you so much for your input Miran. I'm definitely leaning toward the Trance. I love what they've done with the colours this year too.

@@SeanAnthony2025 2021 MYear Trance also corrected a bit of a design flaw. There was a small gap between the motor bash guard and the battery (the wavey bit of plastic). It can allow for a bit of water to get through and it has a tendency to clog up with mud. Now if you blast that area with water every time you might get the connectors under it wet. That said now that its really muddy and cold I run a neoprene battery cover which helps keep the area and the battery clean.

@@Rippy211 Also great advice. Not sure where you are but where I live it's also pretty soggy and cold now and with snow about to hit us in every direction, I think that's a piece of kit I'll need to add for sure. Thanks again, the advice is very much appreciated

@@nicolapellegrino1072 i heard the base model is nearly ready for sale ( ep8 model out next spring) so maybe makes sense to push whats in stock now. Also Jones is probably appealing to the 20 - 35 ish age group ( although i am over 40 and watch his, stuff) most people that age will maybe stuggle to spend over 5500 on a bike... Just guessing the reasons...
