Absolutely! As tempting as it can be to focus on self-preservation and maximizing your own scorecard, playing in a way that covers teammates and creates openings allows your teammates to contribute even more and secure the win for the team.
Back button attachment or pro controller. Map a back button to X and you still free to use the right stick and keep your space controls. It’s a Game changer
Glad that we could help! Make sure to check the other guides we have as well. We're busy at work on our next video and hoping that'll be really helpful as well!
What a great condensated video of the most important things to know! I with I had this video when I started because most of these tips I would have to ask myself. The controls one is great.
Having controllers with back buttons is a godsend! Like the PS5 pro controller or the DS4 back button attachment. Set one of them to boost to keep jump on X so when you in space you can easily use L1/L2 to ascend/descend. I tried keeping the remaps to ground and space separate before but it got too confusing. And swapping boost and jump buttons in space make maneuvering through a pain. Since now you can’t move the camera while ascending. Back buttons are a game changer 👌
I've been really tempted to get a PS5 pro controller since I keep on destroying them... The back button is really tempting for boosting and also blocking abilities
@@2MUCHWONG When I was playing on PS4, I got the back button attachment specifically for this game. And it’s been awesome. Play on PS5 now and bout a pro controller with that in mind Also, never thought about using one of the back paddles as the touchpad button. Gotta try that….
Very well made and thought out video. There is only one problem, i dont know if its me or if im bad at the game or what. I play the PC version, followed everything you guys stated in the video but the game is random BS 90% of the time for me. The game takes forever to get matches and just drops them at a whim too (terrible peer to peer connection is outdated) Examples: 1. Get stun locked into oblivion by beam weapons 2. Get spawn camped by the enemy team (they need to make spawn protection) 3. My team doesn't follow the class formation and they go lone wolf despite it being a team game (the enemy team also gangs up on just me alone) There's a whole other text rant i'll spare you with but it can be pretty rage inducing sorry to say.
If you haven't already, definitely check out our second video, Ground Offense Basics! It should help and covers a lot of the in-match tips. In regards to your examples, 1) To avoid getting stun locked, be careful when approaching the enemy team. If the radar shows an enemy arrow pointing in your direction, assume they'll shoot you immediately when you're out of cover. Find a path to flank or quickly boost to the next cover spot while closing the distance. 2) That one is...tough to get around. The best option is to use the "Let's Sortie Together" quick chat and then when everyone spawns, you can quick chat "Advance!" and hopefully they follow your lead and push out. You have 5 seconds of invincibility when spawning so use that to boost out and get to a spot with good cover! 3) If your team doesn't follow the class formation and brings too many supports, you'll have to bring a general, not push too far from them and focus the enemy raids harder than usual to keep your support alive. If your team brings too many raids, you'll have to push hard with them as a general and help them get in there! If your team goes lone wolf, you'll have to try to find the biggest cluster of teammates possible and consistently move with them to hopefully gain numbers advantage.
I managed to reach A- from scratch on PC by using OP suit and spam them while everyone is new but now when I start to play more MS my rank tank hard xD looking forward for next VDO.
1 thing I want to mention about controller setup for PC. You cannot swap buttons for Steam Version that's sucks. You can only swap or add keybinds for your keyboard. For my case I set my loadout 5 right Mouse button, 6 for mouse 4 and 7 for mouse 5. I really want to play with controller but I cannot switch X and R1
On PC, if you're looking to swap (X) and (R1) on a PS controller, you can! You need to go over the far right "Action" column and move them that way. Instead of mapping buttons to actions, you're mapping actions to buttons (which is reverse of how many games do it). That's what I've done to play on PC with controller.
Nice! As a side note, aiming with controller may feel difficult at first. Try aiming with your movement stick rather than your camera. That way, you don't have to fight with turning speed as much and you won't overcorrect your aim when lining up a shot.
I have seen a 4-5 General with 1 Support in 5v5/6v6. Nasty team comp that would bring difficulty for a Raid suit user that doesn't use a form of status effects or radar manipulation... I suppose it would be great to have tips against this kind of comp. The best case that I seen with 2-3 General, 2 Raid, and 1 Support was if the raid ms users use the same MS or have a MS that compliments the other MS very well. This can be double re-gz or Effriet Natch with the Effriet that has the skills that does a bunch of Radar manipulation effects against enemies. Finally, I am seeing the rise of MS usage that is resistant to Blast knockback... It can be a bit frustrating at times as I love to use the GM/Zaku Cannons whenever there is a chance to fill in the support role aside using Beam Support MS as it can be incredibly difficult to counter those Blast resistant MS in time as they casually walk up and use a midrange melee that somehow can't be tackle countered...? That is all I got for now... And thanks for the tips!
We'll get some raid strategies on our list of videos to make! For blast knockback, there's two things you could be seeing. 1) Manuever armor, which causes hits that normally stagger to no longer stagger if a suit is boosting. We'll dive into this in a future video on how to take advantage of it and how to counter it with stun accumulation. 2) Explosive Reactive Armor, which prevents a suit from being staggered from non-direct hits of explosive weapons. In that case, your cannon/bazooka shots will have to hit them directly rather than relying on the splash stagger of a cannon/bazooka. We definitely need to make a video about MS skills since understanding them helps you make the most out of a suit's abilities and how to counteract those skills!
@@2MUCHWONG I think it is mostly number two, but I have instances where the MS was just walking towards me full on and took a direct hit like it was nothing.
@@2MUCHWONG I would be interested in a video about stun accumulation, damage immunity, and how to coordinate best with your teammates to do the most damage to a single target.

If you can do it, that's awesome! For myself, I had issues in certain scenarios that just made things more awkward than on controller. For example, if I'm walking to the right and wanting to swap to my weapon hotkeys 4-8, I'd have to take my finger off "D" to hit that weapon swap.
Soooo, I have gotten good with mouse and keyboard, I have seen teams with multiple supports win easily. There are too many factors to take in that can be random with battles in this game and you have to go with the flow. I can generally look at a team make up at the start of the match now and know the chances of victory.
Right now, multiple supports can win on PC because the current player base is very passive and afraid of getting hit. This makes it extremely difficult for a raid to do their job and take out the support unless they're extremely experienced. Once players start pushing together as a team and share the damage rather than playing as individuals, raids will be able to get in and take out multiple support teams. Until then, it's definitely important to go with the flow. If your team has two supports, you might have to sortie in a mid-range shootie suit since it may be tough to get in without a strong frontline. At the same time, if you're confident in your ability to pull aggro safely and make openings for your teammates, you could play a high mobility suit with maneuver armor to help your team get in.

@@2MUCHWONG Netcode issues and the horrible balancing in this game from the devs pretty much outweigh anything this game does right.
