I can only hope Tsurugi's voice lines can tide me over everybody else sounding worse. At least the new renditions of everyone's themes seems to have made it out okay too.
I wonder if it's bc his VA (and a lot of other uni va's who sound different this time around) voice like a million characters, so they've just... forgotten what their uni character sounds like? I feel like this happens a lot in re-voicing unfortunately
Now heres the million dollar question. If UNI1s voice lines were so good it made the English dub in BBTAG look bad. Does this now mean UNI2s voice lines are so bad it make's BBTAG's English dub look good? These are the questions that I ponder about. I think Hydes BBTAG dub and UNI2's Japanese voice work are both terrible in there own ways...

I actually like Hydes English VA, but the majority from everyone else online says that his English dub just doesn't compare to the original Japanese dub from UNI. Plus, BBTAG was rushed apparently so that's also why people say it's bad. Idk, I can't win no matter what I say. Then others who have experience with UNI say that Hydes JP VA is worse in UNI2 then the original UNI. I have not played the game enough to really say for sure, but if others that put hundreds, maybe thousands of hours into the game say the new voice work is bad, then I have to assume it is, right?
@GhostOfJaumell I thought Gords VA was phenomenal (Ian Sinclair voices him and other than Keith Silverstein who voices Kanji in this game. He has a pretty solid track record. These are just the VAs I recognize. ) I don't really know how it happened but compared to the other characters in the game, Gord was given the best direction and was aloud to be a character with an actual personality instead of a one note character. They REALLY screwed this up with Hyde because in UNI, he's suppose to be awkward and funny while still being emo and badass which is something I don't see much of in fighting games (let alone video games in general) and BBTAG just ripped half of Hydes character traits out and it bothers me a whole lot. I do want an English dub so badly for UNI2 and I know thats never going to happen. For whatever reason, BBTAG seems to be the only fighting game from arc systems that was allowed to have an English dub, and I don't really understand why, honestly. I was very excited about UNI2 a few months back...but now I'm kind of on the fence about it. Mostly because as far as the story is concerned (I know some people might not care about it but I kind of do) it seems that the Amnisea group, specifically Gord is going to get sidelined so that Hydes group of friends will get more focus. The box art makes me think that as well and I have seen very little of Gord, Hilda and the others in the promotional material. I'll wait until the reviews come out because I am so torn about it...and I don't want to start another Twitter war but I hate how identical UNI2 is to UNI. It's a $60 extension of the game plus dlc that you need to buy to get the last three characters. Idk, like I said I'm super on the fence about it. I think $60 is too much for this game when TOTK and Spider Man 4 (The first one) were also $60 and offered more. I just want more Gord stuff, it's so not fair...
I'm pretty it's still there. when I'm going from footage through the footage, seems like all uni 1 voicelines are ported over. Albeit re-recorded with weaker delivery.
@@Resentonethey may record it again. Sometimes it happens because they need a quick voiceline because they game was being showcased at will redo it again for the game's release. (At least i hope that's the case)

I modded Clr a little bit as there's 1/2 unused voicelines of Hyde, now used in Sys Celes.

i legit never realized how bad the sound quality was until this video. not a fan of the weird foggy overlay though, the colors seem faded out

You know how many people Ive seen that said they'd like an English dub for Uni 2? There's definitely quite a few people who liked his voice in bbtag
SUM BBTag dubs were fire asf imo Hyde definitely being one gord and linne too but there were some misses

Hyde’s Japanese actor has gotten a little bit rusty. Ngl.
In BBTAG for his Japanese actor it was MUCH worse.
Ryouhei voicework in other game is fine, (Look up Charlemagne from FGO or Tartaglia from Genshin) so idk what went wrong
