So actually this vlog is a lot of Alicecam because I got SUPER lost on the bus on my way to meeting my professor and didn't have the chance to film much. OOPS.

I love the story-telling style of this vlog! With the back and forth between Mimei and Alice - made it dynamic and almost like a movie, but in a vlogging way. Kyoto looks so pretty, too ugh

Watching this made me wanna visit Kyoto again!! I spent about 3 days there the last time I went, but it was smack in the middle of sakura season and VERY VERY crowded. The bus drivers were snappy, the service people were visibly frustrated though most were still professional. It just... Wasn't very pleasant over all. We did get to watch the miyako odori though which was great :) Will try to go again during a low season!

I spent a day in Kyoto but didn't see much of it. Mainly just renting Kimono, then taking the train to Aokigahara, then Gion later in the evening. We saw a couple glimpses of geisha while in Gion.

I'm kinda surprised there are so many women walking around in traditional dress.
Its pretty common for tourists to hire kimono and walk around the temples getting photos. :-)
I'm pretty sure it's a tourist thing because the last time I was in Kyoto it wasn't like this! I guess people get dressed up for the day (probably by professional kimono places) to take pictures these days, as a tourist activity.
