The British Hill Climb Championships are BACK! Here is a mini preview of the course, the updates with the new climb being used and the results of the latest test event! What do you think of having free pizza after the event? (More links about the event in the description!)
Easy bro.. Oh yeah knew before did ya 👀😂. Bloody hell it's jus like my local council only put posters up and tell everyone there is something happening the day before ffs.. Think I shouted you on fb about this. Roll on September love you bro
@@benthilwind6908 Steady on. Think folks are just trying to drag it out of the stone age by applying some HYPE to it all. As I said on : The folks at Muckle were still trying to get it on Prospect up until as soon as a few weeks ago so It's not like they tried to mislead people from January 1st in to thinking it's on a completely different climb. Alls well, and we can be thankful they found a climb so close with actually even better logistics and HQ services!
Always look forward to the hc series at the end of summer Ed, though this year unless you live in the south east it hasn't actually even started yet! I await your documentation of your build up to the National with much interest as usual & hope you manage to win another one on watt appears to be an interesting course, good luck in the quest for it.
Definitely want to see more on this! I’ve entered the Nat HC for the first time this year, first HC of the year done and 2nd one coming up in a few weeks! I was pretty gutted when they changed the climb! Prospect looked cool with the turns!
Great video to hype the hill climb season!! Looking forward to watching your journey. I hope you see all of the same success that you had last year...with maybe 1 small change in the final result.
Excellent! Aiming to qualify for this year after taking up cycling seriously in may last year. Coming from down near brighton makes a reccy cycle a bit tough!
Look forward to more content on the HC. Looked back to see if you did any around my area and lo and behold up popped Bushcombe Lane between Tewkesbury and Cheltenham. Keep the vids coming Ed🚴👌👍
I love your hill climb content but I'll leave the riding up hill bit to you as im more a TT person myself but i may do a couple here and there. Good luck Ed
Just for clarity, last year's winner rode at 13.7mph, and the last rider 5.2mph. It's not that selective it depends on location as to how many riders enter. If you fancy it get an entry in.
Looks like a good hill for it. Would like to know how you fuel your VO2 efforts for this while maintaining (or dropping) weight. That seems to be the hardest part about this.
It is disingenuous to indicate you had inside knowledge for some time that venue for event was different to advertised. This information should have been made public knowledge as soon as it was known. OK, it’s only a few miles down the road but people travel from far afield for this event, sometimes with family and this information affects decision on where to book accommodation. 👎🏼
It hasn't changed anything in this instance, no one was harmed. @@edlaverack I’m offering some friendly advice and to think about what you are actually saying/admitting to here. It does not reflect well on the organisers I feel. Best regards and good luck on the day.
@johns3450 we had to have a plan B climb in mind for sometime because of the on going works on Prospect Hill (you can read more about this on our social media posts on Insta or FB). Obviously we could not formally announce the change until it was signed off by the Council, CTT and Road closure. We worked really hard to get another climb in the Tyne Valley - Dipton Mill Road is less than 4 miles away from Prospect. Hope to see you in October!

Prospect had a major landslide but Dipton mill is a amazing climb much better then prospect. Coming from a local
The build up series last year was what got me onto your channel, hope you do it again 👍
Glad to hear it! Trying to bring some variety to the channel too
@@edlaverack love the content whatever you post, keep up the great work fella
Looks a great location and course for this year, thanks for posting the preview Ed! Great to see you back with NHC vlogs, more please!!
Look forward to hearing more about the HC Ed. I live not far from Hexham so will come and cheer you on!
Wicked!
Carpark at Hexham Travelodge is huge and free.......bet nobody would notice a stealth van there 👀

I hope so too!

That’s a proper climb that
Love your hill climb series
Apart from You, Ed 😁 Harry Mac would be my dark horse......... if he takes it seriously, that is 😂 glad to hear you're entering again 👊
😁got that right!
When you mentioned Prospect Hill I hoped that it would be Prospect Place in Bath!
I was there on the hill for mcc event taking photos. Great event. I got some belters
Very cool!
Of course we want to see more on this topic and the lead up to the event. We will be fooled not to.
Great video Ed, informative and appetite whetting, very very different from The Struggle? hope you do a 2024 HC series too. 👍
Just seen Cunningham got very close to the Cat and Fiddle record last week - the man is on fire right now!
I saw it too, he took a KOM of mine.

Will do, I’ll try my best to weave that in
I was very confused when I saw you in Heysham not doing prospect hill. Now I know…. See you in September and October hopefully
I knew you’d clock it🫡
Hexham
@nigelbradley613 oh yeah. They are a bit far apart 😂
Are you excited? Who's excited? Ed's excited!!! 😊
Love the hill climb series every year. Surprised you’re doing it this year though.
I didn’t say I was doing it did I 😅😂😋
@@edlaverack 😂
Andy Cunningham is a strong boy going up the hills 🎉
What’s your race calendar looking like for this season?
Still unsure
imagine doing no hill climb series and coming first. wouldn't that be a shame?
That has happened a few times if I recall! You never know who will show up, a World Tour Pro perhaps!
Why so short? Would be better with 15-20min😊
@@morten9972 they change every year. Although there seems to be a long one every 4-6 years
Some of the best events are the short ones. Monsal Head is well under 2 mins (for the quick folk). Doesn't make it any less painful.
I said this and the whole Facebook group got all offended 🙄
@@stuartmclean3843 It's because it's mainly "tradition". Plus, easier for folk to train for a "fly and die" short effort rather than a long one!
Is there a 100 kilo plus category…..LOL…..guess not as they would have to shut the road for too long……
