This is kinda a hidden gem from this band in my opinion. The album this is from i consider as one of their worst, mostly because its very formulaic, it feels very boring and safe, which is a problem i have with a lot of newer in flames album, but this song stands out far above the rest and is honestly my favorite from their newer 'era' so to say.
Honestly, the intro before the vocals kick in i would say is by far my favorite part of the song, really like how they played around 2 simple riffs for quite a while there. I agree on the bridge missing something. Personally not even a huge fan of the vocals on here, theyre fine, its mostly the first half of the song that i really love :) I just wish in Flames would try stuff like this more. Theres some really good stuff on their newer records, you just really have to pick it out of the pile thats beneath it.
I noticed on this track that vocals were rhymed which is not usual for the inflames tracks ive heard before
@@DaveDoesmoviesandmusic true, they rarely do that. his delivery here is also a bit different than usual to accomodate that. i cant directly off the top of my head think of many other song where theyve done that that i liked. Trigger is the only one that comes into mind.
Most of the time when it feels like in flames are experimenting a bit it succeeds, sadly they dont do it a lot. I cant think of a song theyve done thats similar to this one, the only one thats even a similar length is 'the chosen pessimist', though in that one the length really hurts it imho.
