    Great demo as usual Mr. Fossett! I keep looking at this Strat as an emergency backup. All 3 single coils is just too interesting to NOT check one out somewhere! The Vintera tele deluxe with that ‘70’s Strat headstock is pretty ridiculous too. Thanks again; nice playing but you already know that!!! 🎸

    Hey Jack, I like your channel and I am a subscriber, the problem I have with sponsored videos is this, in my opinion if you really don't like a guitar, and for example say it's overpriced, and there are better options, then the company (in this case Fender) will not be sending you anymore equipment to review. Also, nice playing😎

    Got this exact guitar coming in the mail today from fender. I had about a $2000 budget for a guitar (possibly $3000). I was looking at every strat on fenders site and this one kept calling me. The color initially grabbed me, but the more I looked in to the specs and price with 10% off coupon this guitar made the most sense for me and it was the strat I liked the best. I'm horrible at playing, don't do gigs or anything like that. Just jam at home and with friends and family. My point is I had $2000-$3000 to get any strat I wanted at fender and I kept going back to this one after months of looking almost daily. I'll have it in my hands in a couple hours and we'll see how it stacks with my son's American made strat.

  • @garybanke372

    I bought this exact Strat (my first Strat, I'm a Tele guy) and love everything about it except the pickups, especially the bridge. I also have the Tone Master Super Reverb and I just can't get a nice fat tone from the Strat without a pedal, such as my ThorpyFx Dane. Now, I realize it might be pickup height, tone settings on the amp etc. I'm not giving up on them just yet, but if I can't get the sound my ear wants to hear I'll replace them with Harmonic Design Vintage Plus in the neck/middle and a Super 90 in the bridge. Overall, I love the look and feel of this Strat. Just haven't fallen in love with the sound. Great videos BTW. Keep them coming. I enjoy your reviews and playing.

    12:42 I love this sound so much! I'm not sure exactly how to describe that sort of metallic sparkle on that low E string but it's what I'm looking for in a guitar. Is that what people refer to when they describe strats as bell-like? And would you say that's more to do with the pickups or the amp?

    I had originally purchased an American Ultra. It was a great guitar. But then I picked up an Olympic White Player Plus and fell in love. Maybe it was set up better but I loved it instantly. I returned the American and got the Player Plus. There are def features on the American that are better. And resale value. But I just couldn't justify paying double the price. The player plus is great.

    Absolutely love this channel. Great MIM strat here. I've been lucky with my strat. The first one I bought was MIM FSR guitar center special really. But it inspired me as I wanted Gilmour look. It sat in it's case for a year before I would be good enough to really appreciate it. I had the gear gas and bought 7 guitars after. Now I'm selling all but my MIM FSR. I want to put pups in that suit my tastes and maybe this pickguard I'll buy with the HSS or something. Then locking tuners. Maybe a new nut. Not because it needs any of it. But to future proof it for a while while I grow as a drummer turned guitarist. Hahahah.

    Great demo and great sounding guitar. I picked up one of the 50’s Vintera strats a few months ago and I agree completely. They feel and sound American made. Light years ahead of my late 90s Mexican Std Strat.

    Just ordered a Fender Player Plus Stratocaster in the Bel Aire Blue. That means it's a H/S/S format - the switch splits the humbucker into single coil (or it may be tapped, I'm not sure). I've always liked these pick ups too! I've got a regular H/S/H Mexican Player standard and love it - I'm hoping this one is even better, I think I have Strats in every format up to Custom Shop, except Squier. No reason for that but I think the Squier's are by definition kind of generic but they are built well.
    Very nice review by the way..... Keep on, er, keeping on. :) Pete.

    Great review, so much better than the ones I've seen. I was a bit afraid that the bridge pickup would sound harsh, brittle and thin... but that's not the case at all in your review!
    These noiseless pickups sound awesome.
    Does it have the tone knob working on the bridge pickup too now, like the regular Player? Must be.... let me know cause I can't find anything about that.

  • @JDKingStratslinger

    IMO, MIM Fenders are on par with MIA Fenders. FWIW, I've read that the MIM factories employ a high percentage of guitarists. That said, a grand for a MIM? Cast your eyes to a Squier CV! Ye sha'n't be disappointed! PS: A very considered review and fine playing, Jack! Per usual!

    • @JackFossett
      @JackFossett  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So the reason I didn't mention price is because thats just everything nowadays. I remember when an MIM Standard was like $385 and a Classic Series MIM Fender was more like $600-700. But so were the Gibson faded series, and the list goes on. Now they're all much more expensive. If the price increase had been exclusive to Fender I might have brought it up, but geez even used prices are out of control nowadays.

    I would really have to ay this guitar to decide. I think it has brilliant clean tones and the features are great and I have doubt of the quality. The overdrive tones with noiseless always sound just a bit muddy to me. That's what scares me I have not liked claptons modern overdrive tones there has been a muddiness to his tone and that's my only hesitation

  • @voiceofexperience
    @voiceofexperience 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dude, that "top & bottom" pup tone sounds NOTHING like a Telecaster middle position; it sounds like a blander version of Strat positions 2 & 4.
    The new "noiseless" pups def sound better than those "Fender Lace" ones from the 80s.
    - Nice "New Standard Strat", if somewhat overpriced. Better than any of the current US models imho.

    That finish is beautiful...to bad that's the only reason to buy this guitar.
    I love Fender amps and guitars, I really do, but lately seems like all they ever put out anymore in terms of necks are the Modern C neck or deep C neck and those necks are good for beginners but not for me or all the other guitar players I know. I have been playing on stage and every kind of venue for over forty years and a point of fact is...very few of the guitar players I know or have ever known ever use a C neck for very long. Most of them convert to a soft V, mid sixties C or something thicker like an oval (SRV model) and even a few of them like the fifties U shape (baseball neck).
    Fender also seems to be pushing those noiseless pups of theirs, I know Beck and Clapton use them and at one time many of my friends and I tried and used them (briefly) but now, no one I know or have known still uses them. We try them every now and again to see if they have gotten better, but in the end the tone is just not there so we always wind up replacing them for something else with much better tonal qualities.
    One last thing I would like to mention, is that those Zinc blocks on the bridge are not good for sustain or sound transfer, they sound cheap and are cheap. I preface all I have said to say this... If you are a beginner this is a good little guitar for you...however at this price point it's unlikely you would choose this guitar.
    Again, the paint job (and maybe the nice saddles) is the best thing about this guitar. For me to buy this guitar would mean I would have to upgrade almost everything on it i.e. neck, bridge (not the saddles), tuners, pickups and most likely the wiring assembly and strap locks, which would cost me another grand or so depending on the cost of the pups and neck I would use. If it was in the $500.00 range I might consider it just because of the the paint job...MAYBE.
    IMO, Fenders pricing of there "MADE IN MEXICO GUITARS" have gotten way out of control. With whats available on the internet I can build my own guitar with close to top of the line everything (including Nitro Paint) for less than what there charging for this guitar.
    C'mon Fender you can do better than this. PEACE

    • @supersonicsroots
      @supersonicsroots 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's all preference.... the things you mention would be reasons for someone else to buy this guitar. And frankly, you sound a little bit smug by saying that this is a "good little guitar for a beginner".
