I know you're taking the perspective of uniqueness or innovativeness, but regarding your comment about "just another MIM Player Stratocaster," I think the MIM Fender guitars in general are the pinnacle workhorse guitars in terms of quality, durability, availability of parts, and diversity across the range. An MIM HSS Strat, especially one spec'ed like this, is really a "do-it-all" guitar at a price within reach, at least with financing lol, for most working adults.

13:02 that's why I watch your videos instead of other's,(I watch them all but yours religiously! ) I want to hear the guitar played the way I play(not Shreader gift of God fingers) it's a honest way of showcasing the guitar. Extremely skilled players make ANYTHING sound great, by way of experience and trickery. I don't give a crap how well someone can do sweep arpeggios. And I don't care for the extra flamboyancy that come with lead guitar playing. The Swedish have a saying: Jante Lagen. Personally, I rather listen to your diddy strumming tunes than some show off that doesn't, at least, try to share their talent. You inspire me to play my guitars more than any showboat guitarist ever will. Not that I don't like fast guitar playing, I've been a metalfan all my life, but my hands are broken and cannot do any fancy stuff. 😃Cheers from Newfoundland

I got one of these in cosmic jade and really like it. I have a bunch of Fenders and this MX made model holds it's own against many of the the American models. Great Fender strat for the money, right now. The pull knob is kind of an issue with sweaty hands, but a couple of small rubber bands around the grip of the knob work perfect, I used daughters clear hair ties and it really isn't noticeable. Anyway, that solved that problem.

There's a way to wire the humbucker so that it coil splits in position 2. This prevents the HB from overpowering the middle pickup so you get standard Strat Quack. You can then use the push-pull pot to add the bridge pickup anytime. Neck & Bridge or all three.

I just bought the 3 single coil version in Olympic pearl. I honestly love it. I'm kinda bummed that I didn't get the humbucker one, since it has a split coil option, which is like the ultimate pickup essentially. But the one I got is better in every other way. I love the fact that I can use the bridge pickup along with the neck on a strat! Just like a tele. And it's crazy to hear all 3 pickups on at the same time. Plus, I've got so many humbucker guitars at this point. I think having a good single coil axe is important for the sounds i like. It comes with locking tuners, which is great. It's actually crazy, because they make a USA model currently that has the exact same paint job and pickguard. So it looks like a top of the line strat. The fretboard on mine is rolled perfectly. It's a bit heavy, but I don't hate heavy strats. I prefer Gibsons to be lighter, due to the way those guitars are made. Makes sense to have a bit more "open" sounds on a Gibson, in my opinion, since they're already very dark.
I finally got a chance to play one of those squier starcasters yesterday. I'm pretty sure that's what they're calling it. It's kinda funny because they've used that name for other guitars before. Very confusing, Fender lol.
Anyways, I love your guitar show, dude. I'm hoping to collect enough someday to be on your level with the trading. Most of my guitars are under $1000 right now, but I've got a couple really nice ones, and I plan to get more, and hopefully learn to trade up the way you do. I've got a Glarry lol. I wonder if I could trade that up to an SG over time. That would be so hard for me though, because I don't even know what I'm doing. I play guitar pretty well though lol.

@@sourav2328 I really love the look of this guitar and it has a maple neck… but I wish they made it in HSS. I know the American version is exactly what I want but I’m not paying American prices yet until I get better. I played for a few months when I was 16yrs old with a used squire strat and Marshall tube amp I got used off my brothers friend for like $300. That was definitely a better guitar still in terms of quality for a 1996 or older. Currently playing an Epiphone Les Paul Special ii that I got for under $200 on sale. I upgraded the practice amp to a Roland Micro Cube GX and it’s been fun except the plug jack keeps coming loose. But man I wish I still had that Marshall practice Amp and my DID Nirvana Grunge pedal! I’m definitely on the fence about getting this new updated Strat because I really want those locking tuners and the HSS in maple but spending $1000 is a lot for a guitar you don’t love. Eh, I feel it's a bit more nuanced. They have alnico rods instead of bars and steel rods, plus they have a different "window" of the string they interact with, and sometimes the internal wiring is different. They're not classic single coils, but they're also not humbuckers tonally speaking. Like if we can single out P bass pickups from soapbars, wide range humbuckers from normal ones, etc we can carve out a space for these unique pickups too.

I like how reviewers think a 1000 dollar anything is "affordable" lol. A hundred or two hundred is affordable, a thousand is expensive.. Heck anything above 300 stops being affordable or cheap, and at the price point these fall at, they are expensive..
I do like the way the sound, and look, but I am not a fan of the issue with the High E, that should have been taken care of by the string tree, I mean that is the whole point in having a string tree in the first place, to stop that sound from happening. That kind of issue, may be easily fixable, but it makes a guitar above 200 be a no go for me. Meaning that if I find that issue with a guitar under 200, I just fix it and move on. If I pay more than 200 for a guitar and it has that very issue, I send it back.. I have standards, and I expect that if I were to pay over 200 dollars for a guitar, the only thing it will need once I get it is to be tuned and intonation and of course the string height lowered and such.. or basically just a cheap setup I can do at home lol. Without the use of nut files and such.

I am sorry for how snide that may sound, but telling people to save up in order to be able to afford something that is way over priced, is not helpful to anyone but the company that is charging a thousand dollars for a 200 dollar guitar.
I could be off on that number, it could be cost Fender about 215 to make that guitar lol.
Seriously though, my point I was making was more along the lines that if we are going to classify this guitar, "affordable" is not what bracket we would put it in, "expensive" is the bracket that fits this guitar. A thousand dollars is not what a father spends on his 12 year olds first guitar, 200 is the max a father spends in that case. This guitar is priced as if it is made 100% by hand by the best luthiers in the land, and this guitar is being mass produced by mostly machines in Mexico...

I've been using Pau ferro on strats for the best part of thirty years, and tbh I really do prefer it to rosewood. It sits between maple and rosewood in texture & feel (sound is subjective!). It darkens with age, but my boards were dark from the off. The fender boards are the lightest I've ever seen. I have 5 strats/tele's with PF boards (not Fenders), none of them feel 'dry', the grain is tight but they do take a good quality light oil (Crimson Guitars) really well. I agree, visually the latest boards don't 'look right', but my fingers don't care! Its awesome as neck material too - my current fave is PF neck/Ebony board & steel frets. 'Slick' is an understatement. I keep getting the feeling my fingers want to thank me!!

@@hkguitar1984 A friend of mine dyed it. After a while, wear spots begin to show. It all looked really nasty. I wouldn't recommend it. And yes, you can moisturize it, but it still feels dry. It doesn't have the same smooth feel as rosewood or even ebony.

Correct, I've had a couple sets of the Fender Noiseless and have always replaced them with traditional single coils.
I believe the real advantage of the Noiseless pickups is when using a lot of gain when the articulation of a true single coil isn't noticeable, then being humbuckers is a real advantage as far and no hum/noise.

Honestly it's because people are dumb and they like "tradition", people also associate it being cheap wood because it's usually on cheaper guitars when in reality it's wood. I personally love the neck on this example that Trogly got. Pao Ferro is pretty much like rosewood just lighter in color. It's the reason why Fender went with pao ferro, yes, it's probably cheaper but it's more abundant than rosewood and it's the closest without being the same or paying more.
