      This video is in part disingenuous. As an African myself it is infact the fault of the people. Firstly, Africa is not that unique in terms of raw materials or oil that they all 'want a piece'. Parts of central Asia are just as blessed. Why they come here is because they get it cheaper, mainly "who ever comes to Africa for goods or materials comes to exploit"

    • @cdnn-g9x
      @cdnn-g9x 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OsirisMawn The Asians are also exploiting the African countries for their raw materials too tho, and the reason the they give it up for so cheap is because they have no choice😢, it’s the only way they can make money.

      @@OsirisMawn you've internalised exactly what they want Africans to believe. As an African myself, I can agree that other countries have resources too but you cant disregard the history unique to Africa - slavery and the setbacks it causes. Its all connected. None of these things in history happened in a vacuum and you cant treat it as such. If you gonna make comparisons you have to take ALL conditions into account.

    I am from Chad and I just discovered your channel. I have to say that this is probably the best video I have ever watched on this topic. Africa is not poor but rather impoverished. There is a difference. When I was studying International Relations in the Western education system, we were lectured on the goodness and merits of the World Bank and IMF....It's truly a sad reality for us Africans to be stuck in this vicious cycle done in collaboration with our puppet leaders. Yoù know this video, makes sense back in June in my home country Kenya 🇰🇪, there was this new bill that was about to be passed. This bill would have caused the prices of common commodities to go up and make life unbearable.When looking at the reasons, for this bill, the president had taken a loan from the IMF, but the IMF gave out strict requirements, for him to be given the loan he must first raise the taxes. This led to an uproar in the country, there were protests in every major town eventually the bill was dropped. The logical conclusion can only be that Africa as a whole we are been undone by internal factors and external factors. Internal factors such as corruption and bad governance, external factors such as exploitation.

    The reason why the Europeans lost their control over colonies is because the two big countries who came out of World War 2 in strong position had an incentive to make sure Western Europe didn't have colonies, and so pushed them to the bargaining table. If the Africans truly had any leverage at these negotiations on their own, then it would have been easy for the African leaders to simply avoid any new predatory systems that the Europeans offered. It's not like it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to be skeptical of any new European systems given the historical context.

It barely touches on the corruption and self-interest of those who accepted the loans, and it treats Africa almost like a child in need of guidance. The continent is home to countless talented and brilliant individuals, but, yet its systems often end up elevating mediocrity over excellence-one of the biggest reasons behind many of its struggles. Sure, the IMF has been ruthless, but let’s be real: there are other factors at play here that we can't ignore.

    I know a couple of people from the villages in the Eastern Cape who where enlisted to go fight the white war in Europe, some of those who survived(black and coloured people) where given jackets and bicycles while some very few where given land, but all the whites(BOERS) who survived where given land and money by the Anglo government that controlled the Union of South Africa.

    Africa is poor only because of corruption.
    It's like in the slave trade. The worst culprit is not the one buying the slaves but the one selling his own people as slaves.
    Our elected officials know very well but decide to choose deals that favor them and the signing parties but not their country.

      African leaders are bad at math. And don’t understand they put themselves at risk being the only person in a country who has money. They think they’re powerful because they can accumulate for themselves but they would be more powerful if their country was able to accumulate. Again it seems they are been bad at mathematics

    When all is said and done, no one is gonna come and save Africa. We are the only one who ca save our selves. The video tells many facts. If we use the facts to feel sorry for our selves, then there’s no hope. Unless we strive and sacrifice. First thing is to be educated and be informed… then the rest will follow.
